In recent years, “Mike Millard Tape” has been digitized from the master direct or low generation tape. This tape was recorded by Mike Millard, a taper familiar to fans due to the outstanding technique of audience recording. The same label has released several sound sources based on this newly digitized Mike Millard tape, but not all Mike Millard tapes have perfect sound quality, and some of them are quite handy. In addition, there is room for improvement, and the “brushed” series has been significantly improved. Originally, it is almost perfect and there is not much room for improvement in sound quality, and the “Legendary” series is the one that has been kept to a minimum such as light editing between songs.

This time, Stanley Clarke from the “Brushed” series. He is an indispensable bassist for 70’s fusion such as Return to Forever and Jeff Beck. Here you can listen to great jazz rock in his own band. Although it is a “brushed” series, it is because the hiss noise was originally quite strong and noise reduction was performed. Audience sound source beginners may be interested in the cheering nearby, but the performance itself is well recorded.

近年マスター直、或いはロウ・ジェネレーションのテープからのデジタル化が進んでいる“マイク・ミラード・テープ”。オーディエンス録音の卓越した技術でファンにはお馴染みのテーパー、マイク・ミラード氏により録音されたテープです。同レーベルからもこの新デジタル化のマイク・ミラード・テープをマスターにした音源が複数リリースされておりますが、マイク・ミラード・テープも全てが完璧な音質なわけではなく、中にはかなり手を加えて改良の余地があるものもあり、大幅に手を加えて改良されたものが“ブラッシュド”シリーズ。元々完璧に近く音質改良の余地があまり無く、曲間等の軽い編集など最低限にとどめてあるものが“レジェンダリー”シリーズとなっております。

今回は“ブラッシュド”シリーズよりスタンリー・クラーク登場です。リターン・トゥ・フォーエヴァーやジェフ・ベックなど70年代フュージョンには欠かせないベーシスト。ここでは自身のバンドで素晴らしいジャズ・ロックを聴かせます。“ブラッシュド”シリーズとなりますが、元々かなりヒス・ノイズが強く、ノイズリダクションを行ったためです。オーディエンス音源初心者の方は近くの声援が気になるかもしれませんが、演奏自体は良く録れています。
