This work was shot at “July 3, 2021 Colombia performance”. This is a multi-camera pro shot when I appeared at “M3 Rock Festival”. This work is a signal of the resurrection of the music genre “heavy metal”, but it is also a declaration of restart of the leading role ACCEPT. First of all, let’s start with their recent situation, which is also popular for their new work “TOO MEAN TO DIE”.

Wolf Hoffmann and newcomer Philip Shaws are playing in this work, without Uwe Lewis. Next year’s European Tour Information is enthusiastic that “three guitarists will blow the virus beyond oblivion,” so it seems that Uve is also enrolled. Anyway, the twins as before shouldn’t be unsatisfactory, but rather I’m surprised at Philip’s skill level, which decides not only the harmony but also the formation.
Also, the festival itself has a feeling of restart. (Is it just the first revival prepared for cancellation?) The scale is small, and the taste is different from the super spectacles such as “WACKEN” and “HEROES OF WORLD ROCK” that appeared before the pandemic. The number of lights and the camera work are small. The atmosphere of such a festival is also real, but on the other hand, the fact that there is no gorgeous viewing angle production also means that the original vividness of the live is out of the ordinary. The sound board directly connected to the mix table, where you can hardly hear loud cheers, has a great sense of synchronization with the band, and the light-hearted camera work is also a heavy use of deadly do-ups. Rather, the band’s own presence is more than a regular pro shot.

It was said that he was still demonstrating his true abilities and driving at full power, but that will be shown at the performance in Japan just before the European Tour. そんな本作が撮影されたのは「2021年７月３日コロンビア公演」。“M3ロック・フェス”に出演した際のマルチカメラ・プロショットです。本作は音楽ジャンル「ヘヴィメタル」復活の狼煙なのですが、その主役ACCEPTの再始動宣言でもある。まずは、新作『TOO MEAN TO DIE』も好評な彼らの近況から始めてみましょう。

これが現在までに公表されているスケジュール。年始にはアルバムを発売するも、パンデミックによってツアーは延期に次ぐ延期。いよいよ動き出したわけですが、それでもいきなりの全力運転とはいかず、まずは米国と日本で試運転ライヴ。来る2022年に本格的な欧州ツアーへ乗り出す予定です。本作のコロンビア公演は、そんな再始動のド頭。３公演だけの「北米」の２公演目にあたります。
そんなステージで撮影された本作は話題の極上プロショットというだけでなく、その中でも最高峰のマスター。最新配信プロショットだけに画質・音質は完全無欠のオフィシャル級……かと思いきや、そうとは言い切れない。実は現在出回り始めたマスターには出自によって差があるらしく、特に某大手動画サイトで公開されているものは画質・音質は良いものの、映像と音声がズレた駄目マスターなのです。もちろん、本作はそれとは異なる。画質・音質が最高峰であると同時に、シンクロ度も100％完璧なベスト版なのです。

……と、このようになっています。80年代と復活後が並び立つバランスで、注目の新曲は３曲。初日に演奏された「The Undertaker」落ちたのは残念なものの、フェスだけに贅沢は言えません。そして、もう１つ注目だったのがトリプル・ギターに進化したアンサンブル……だったのですが、ここでもちょっと意外な結果。本作で弾いているのはウルフ・ホフマンと新加入のフィリップ・ショウズで、ウヴェ・ルイスがいないのです。来年の欧州ツアー・インフォメーションでは「３人のギタリストがウィルスを忘却の彼方に吹き飛ばす」と意気込んでいるので、ウヴェも在籍しているようですが……。ともあれ、今まで通りのツインが物足りないはずもなく、むしろハーモニーどころかフォーメーションまでビッシビシ決めまくるフィリップの練度にびっくりです。
また、フェスそのものにも再始動感が漂う。（復活第一弾だけに万が一のキャンセルに備えたのか）スケール感がこじんまりとしており、パンデミック以前に出演していた“WACKEN”や“HEROES OF WORLD ROCK”のような超スペクタクルとは趣が違い、照明の数もカメラワークも小粒なのです。そんなフェスの雰囲気もリアルですが、その一方で豪華な視角演出がないと言うことは、ライヴ本来の生々しさがムキ出しということでもある。大歓声もほとんど聞こえないミックス卓直結サウンドボードはバンドとのシンクロ感も絶大ですし、淡泊なカメラワークは必殺ドアップの多用でもある。むしろ、バンド自身の存在感は通常のプロショット以上でもあるのです。

本領発揮・全力運転はまだオアズケと言ったところですが、それも欧州ツアー直前の来日公演では見せつけてくれることでしょう。本作は、そんな来日の予習に最適な唯一無二の映像作にして、ヘヴィメタル復活の狼煙。いよいよ、世界に重金属音楽が戻ってきます。その一歩、本作でしっかりと目撃でしてください！
