これが『LOUD HAILER』にまつわる活動概要。年始の日本公演も懐かしくなりつつありますが、その後一切の活動はありません。オフィシャル映像『LIVE AT THE HOLLYWOOD BOWL』は「北米」でのショウでしたが、本作のバーゼル公演は「欧州」レッグ初日にあたります。

【“LOUD HAILER TOUR”レギュラーの最高峰】
そんな本作は、単に公式映像と別ライヴというわけでもありません。ショウの内容もまったく違うのです。ご存じの通り、『LIVE AT THE HOLLYWOOD BOWL』のテーマは“ジェフのキャリア50周年”。スティーヴン・タイラーやバディ・ガイ、ヤン・ハマー等々、豪華ゲストを交えてのヒストリカルなショウ。セットも通常公演とはまるで違う特別コンサートでした。それに対し、本作は紛れもなく“LOUD HAILER TOUR”の通常コンサート。実際、演奏曲からしてまったく違い、『LIVE AT THE HOLLYWOOD BOWL』では観られない（ハズの）名曲も盛りだくさん。アンコールの「A Day In The Life」こそ放送されなかったものの、それ以外は完全収録。「Lonnie on the Move」「You Know You Know」「A Change Is Gonna Come」「Rollin’ and Tumblin’」「Superstition」といった名曲群が一気呵成に押し寄せ、実にショウの半分がオフィシャル映像とは被らないのです。
そんな中で、やはり注目は『LOUD HAILER』からの新曲。公式映像にはない「The Ballad of the Jersey Wives」「O.I.L. (Can’t Get Enough of That Sticky)」「Right Now」も含め、６曲がたっぷりと披露される。もちろん、拡声器を持って客席を練り歩き、ジェフも惚れたというロージー・ボーンズのパフォーマンスもマルチカメラ・プロショットでばっちり観られる。まさに、日本公演の記憶も鮮やかに蘇る“今のジェフ”をたっぷりと味わえるのです。

【最新オフィシャル作品級のクオリティ】
大切なことを言い忘れておりました。本作は肝心要のクオリティも超・極上。ショウ自体はすでに10ヶ月も前なのですが、放送自体はごく最近。今月放送したばかりの超最新映像なのです。それだけに、超ハイクオリティな画質、完璧なサウンド、完全プロ仕上げのミックス等々、わずかなスキもない。オフィシャル映像『LIVE AT THE HOLLYWOOD BOWL』はわずかなトレーラーで確認するだけですが、本作のクオリティはまったく劣っていない。本作のクオリティは「単なる公式級」ではなく、これからリリースされるであろう「最新オフィシャル作品級」なのです。
完全に想像ですが、今になって10ヶ月前のショウが放送されたのは『LIVE AT THE HOLLYWOOD BOWL』プロモーションの意味もあったのではないでしょうか。「特別ゲストと歴史的なセット」のオフィシャル作品に対し、「現在進行形のジェフ」に焦点を絞ったレギュラー・ショウの本作。つまり、本作は「オフィシャル作品の姉妹作」「LOUD HAILER TOURの代表作」になるべくして誕生した１枚なのです。もちろん、未来永劫『LOUD HAILER』『LIVE AT THE HOLLYWOOD BOWL』の隣に鎮座することこそ、本作の宿命。その宿命に相応しい、永久保存プレスDVDで登場です。
