ZZ TOP of the LONDON record era, which had emerged as a male of Southern rock without a trademark beard. Introducing a valuable live album where you can experience the scorching 70’s on-site.
It is “January 9, 1975 Toronto performance” that is imbued with such a work. It is the super strong audience recording. Normally, the schedule at that time would be the first, but this time it is omitted. There are two theories about the Toronto performance, “1975” and “1976”, depending on the material. However, all of them were related to “FANDANGO!”, And in the former case, it was during the production period, and in the latter case, it was the stage eight months after the release (the “1975 theory” that is currently regarded as the most promising in this work. It is unified with).
Furthermore, it is super real and powerful. Although it is close to “FANDANGO! (Live side)” in the sense of zero distance, the powerful rushing power of the core far surpasses the official masterpiece. While centering on the famous plate “TRES HOMBRES” number that is loved throughout the career, the set with famous songs unique to the early days and various covers is really delicious. And the performance that spells the set is amazing. After all, they were only 25 at the time. Even though it is blues or boogie, there is no dust such as savory taste, and it is a great performance that slams the excess physical strength like a fool with a burning passion and burning tension. I think some people say that “ZZ TOP is limited to the LONDON record era”, but it’s a live album that seems to be so dense that it’s boiled down and boiled down.

そんな本作に吹き込まれているのは「1975年１月９日トロント公演」。その超強力オーディエンス録音です。いつもなら、まずは当時のスケジュールから……となるところですが、今回は省略。というのも、トロント公演は資料によって「1975年」「1976年」の２つの説がある。もっとも、いずれも『FANDANGO!』にまつわる時期であり、前者の場合は制作期間中で、後者の場合はリリースから８ヶ月後にあたるステージでした（本作では現在有力視されている「1975年説」で統一しております）。
【公式超え!?なド迫力サウンドの名録音】
ともあれ、そんなショウで録音された本作は、生々しくダイレクト感たっぷりの名録音。世界的に「オーディエンス録音」として通っているのですが、距離のないド・ストレートな芯の密着感やコーラスも綺麗にセパレートした細やかなディテールはサウンドボード級。もっとも曲間には間近客の声援もあるのでオーディエンス録音に間違いないのでしょうが、肝心要の演奏音やヴォーカリゼーションは放送音源と言われても違和感がない。いや、むしろ「生々しい客席声をオーバーダブしたラジオ放送」と言われた方がしっくりくるくらいです。
さらに言えば、超リアルでパワフル。ゼロ距離という意味では『FANDANGO!（のライヴサイド）』に近いものの、芯の力強い突進力はオフィシャル名盤を遙かに凌駕している。ピッキングは弦が引きちぎれそうな迫力で、ヴォーカルはツバが飛び出しそうな勢いで、スピーカーから吐き出される。しかも、それだけパワフルであってもビビッて轟音になる事はなく、まったくブレない安定感も絶大。70年代オーディエンスの旨みたっぷりでありつつ、その次元を遙かに超えた名録音でもあるのです。
【公式じゃ教えてくれないZZ TOP真の凄味】
その超リアル＆激ダイレクト・サウンドで描かれるのは、名盤『FANDANGO!』と変わらぬバンド・ポテンシャルが噴き出す若々しいステージ。「Backdoor Medley」は演奏していないので「FANDANGO!（ライヴサイド）の完全版」とは言えないわけですが、その代わりにLONDONレコード時代の名曲が濃縮されたセットは激アツ。ここでその内容もチェックしておきましょう。
