Yngwie says “Anyone bootlegs this gig, it’s going to be very valuable one day!”

From the 2001 “WAR TO END ALL WARS” US tour, the April 8 Cleveland performance was completely recorded for about 78 minutes with the highest level audience recording. Just before the show, Yngwie had a fierce quarrel with vocalist Jorn Lande, Jorn left the band as it was, and the band was finally performing at Cleveland, which is said to have performed without a singer. Although Ingvey is the vocalist for several songs, most of the songs played are covered songs (Jimi Hendrix and Purple) and instruments, and the set and performance that is different from usual, just this day-only set and performance, has a fresh texture. You can fully enjoy the high-quality recording that is full of music. Although the band ensemble is rough, Yngwie plays very energetic in all songs, and it is very enjoyable for fans, including intense ad lib solos that can be heard everywhere. Immediately after this, Yngwie was forced to cancel his week-long US tour, which marks the last performance of Yngwie’s stage for drummer John Macaluso. After the sixth song, Purple Haze, Yngwie himself said, “Anyone bootlegs this gig, it’s going to be very valuable one day” (if anyone was recording this live, it would be very valuable). However, this edition, which is based on the sound source released by the recorder himself through the net, can be said to be a very valuable piece that captures an accidental live for one night only. This is a must-listen title for fans who can enjoy performances and sets full of listening places, which is rare in Yngwie’s live history, which makes us think of the real thrill of live CDs.

★ This is a review summary of beatleg magazine vol.120 (July 2010 issue). For your reference.

The long-awaited rare sound source that fans coveted appeared for the first time. Ingee had a fierce quarrel with Jorn Lande just before the live performance on that day, and Jorn was angry and did not appear at the show (after all, he left), and the band did the stage of the day without a singer. It’s a sound source with a lot of words. Ingee also serves as a vocalist on this day because the vocals suddenly disappeared, but of course not all songs can be sung, so most of the songs are purple and Jimi Hendrix cover songs, and old and new (as of 2001) instrumental songs. It is a special set that is occupied by. As Ingee himself said at the MC after the end of Purple Haze, “If anyone was recording this live, it would be incredibly valuable (excerpt from the English translation on the label info).” What you can hear here is the set and performance for this day only, and from the sound that has a slightly crude session-like impression, the set list is reorganized in a hurry in a short time from Jorn’s departure a few hours ago to the appearance on the stage. It seems that the behind-the-scenes situation that includes the irritation and slapstick that faced the scene is clearly transmitted.
I don’t know if he’s angry on stage, but Ingee is unprecedentedly crazy about playing the guitar, and everywhere in the song he puts phrases one after another in ad-live (rather than biting … There are many scenes (close to the image of cutting in), and the sound is piercing and hot enough to hurt your stomach just by listening to it from the beginning. Also, this day was the last performance for John (Macaluso) on drums, and he also left the band at the end of this stage to follow his Jorn, so the performance that can be heard here will result in It also has the aspect of the first and last special performance performed by this lineup. Although it is recorded by the audience, the sound quality is good. The guitar sound is recorded well from beginning to end, and the back sound is also recorded quite well, so it is a finish that you can fully enjoy this special set list and exceptional performance. Let’s assert that it is a must-have for fans.
