John Anderson’s new YES music tour, which is being talked about as “more real than the original”. A superb live album that conveys the latest stage led by the founder of YES is now available.
“April 29, 2023 Callingswood performance” is imbued in this work. It is a superb audience recording that vacuum packs the whole story. The other day, the first report of the new tour “WESTBURY 2023 (Amity 718)” was very well received, but this work is the second following it. This is the whole picture of the latest tour “YES EPICS & CLASSICS”. “WESTBURY 2023” was the first day report that the whole world was paying attention to, but in fact the tour was completed the other day. The Callingswood performance of this work was a concert of 8 performances, which is a turnaround.
This work recorded at such a show is truly super and superb. The first report “WESTBURY 2023” was also a super tight sound that goes “just like a sound board” on the ground, but this work has even more thickness and dynamism. Of course, the ringing due to hall noise can cause cloudiness and a sense of distance, but there is no such worry in this work. Only the thickness is added while maintaining the tightness of the tight outline and the direct feeling of the dense core. これが最新ツアー“YES EPICS & CLASSICS”の全体像。『WESTBURY 2023』は全世界が注目する初日レポートだったわけですが、実はツアーは先日完遂。本作のコーリングスウッド公演は、折り返しにあたる８公演のコンサートでした。
そんなショウで記録された本作は、まさに超・極上。第一報『WESTBURY 2023』も「まるでサウンドボード」を地で行く超タイト・サウンドでしたが、本作はさらに厚みとダイナミズムまで兼ね備えている。もちろん、ホール鳴りによる鳴りは曇りや距離感の原因にもなりかねませんが、本作にその心配はなし。引き締まった輪郭のタイト感や密度の高い芯のダイレクト感はそのままに、厚みだけが上乗せされている。サウンドボードに喩えるなら、前作『WESTBURY 2023』は芯も丸出しの「IEMs風」で、本作は音楽作品風にコーティングされた「FM放送風」といった感じなのです。
