With the 50th anniversary of the daimyo board “Kiseki”, YES’s Japan tour was realized for the first time in three years. All performances of the latest original recording will be released together!
This time’s Japan tour consisted of 5 performances, and this work is the last in a series of 5 performances. This is a masterpiece audience recording of the performance “September 12, 2022: Orchard Hall”, which was the only special set in this visit to Japan. We have introduced live albums of meticulous performances in Japan for many years, but the release of all performances at once is unprecedented. Of course, there are precedents for mini visits to Japan for about 2-3 performances, but it is miraculous when it comes to 5 performances. Anyway, let’s check one by one by date to avoid confusion because it is such a fierce rush.

A total of 5 performances. Three performances were held in Tokyo, but they were separated into two in terms of time. While the first and second days were the beginning of the tour, the third was an additional performance after finishing West Japan. And the date is “September 12th”. It was the show the day before this article was published.
It was the ultimate recording and the fastest release, but it was possible only because the sound quality was excellent. It takes time to carefully remaster the recording now, but it is possible to release it quickly because it has high sound quality from the beginning. In fact, the sound of this work is a beautiful sound that combines a neat and fresh sound with a powerful and vivid core. After all, this work was produced by the same recording artist as “TOKYO 2022 1ST NIGHT (Amity 688)” and “TOKYO 2022 2ND NIGHT (Amity 689)” released at the same time. All three performances in Tokyo this time were “Orchard Hall”, so we were able to record with the same venue, the same band, the same equipment and know-how fully established. Of course, no matter how close the situation is, the recording position will not be the same, but even that is an advantage of this work. It is captured from the front row, and there is even a feeling of close contact with the rushing power of the core.
A special set for only one performance that is different from other performances is drawn with such direct sound. This visit to Japan was basically a fixed set, and in the other 4 performances, there was only a difference between Steve Howe’s solo time “To Be Over” or “Clap”. However, on the final day, there was an additional performance, and another set was planned in advance. Now let’s sort it out.

… and it looks like this. Roughly two-part composition is the same as other performances, and “first half = best set” and “second half = “crisis” reproduction + encore” are common. The difference is the first half of the choice, and instead of removing “Heart of the Sunrise”, the solo time is substantial. Howe’s solo is “To Be Over”, which is one of the points of this time, and John Davison’s vocals are added to it to develop into “Leaves Of Green”. After that, Jeff Downs changed players and soloed “Video Killed The Radio Star”.
Until the final day when we arrived at the last minute, it was a beautiful sound. Because of its wonderful sound, all performances were released at once. If you can’t decide which one to choose, try the special set of this work… No, if it’s a set with “TOKYO 2022 2ND NIGHT” that can hold “Clap” and “Heart of the Sunrise” that aren’t in this work, the whole repertoire of Japan. Enjoy a unified sound. However, in that case, I would like to complete 3 performances of the same recording artist collection with “1ST NIGHT”, and if you listen to that, you can also listen to the intense sound board-like “OSAKA 2022” and “NAGOYA 20222” … After all, enjoy all 5 works. I have no choice but to take it. This work is the final release of such a single release. Go ahead, get all 5 and be full… no, please enjoy them until you run out of bees!
