Mike Millard recorded The Who series of 1980 LA performances regardless of press, CD-R “LOS ANGELES 1980 1ST NIGHT”, “LA FORUM 1980 1ST NIGHT: MIKE MILLARD MASTER TAPES” and A group of masterpieces such as “LOS ANGELES 1980 2ND NIGHT: MIKE MILLARD MASTER TAPES” proved it, but this time the recording of the fourth day of the LA Sports Arena was released.
The sound quality of the mirrored master this time is also really excellent, and the detailed presence and on-tone sound image that is typical of him is still alive. If it is only that quality, it is comparable to “LOS ANGELES 1980 1ST NIGHT” which was a press CD release.
However, on the day of the concert, Millard was late for the concert and “Substitute”, “I Can’t Explain” and “Baba O’Riley” were not recorded, resulting in an incomplete recording. Therefore, it will be released on CD-R.
but. Fortunately, he recorded the most exciting part of this concert.

The great appeal of The Who in the Kenny Jones era is that the songs from the album “WHO ARE YOU”, which could not be performed live when Keith Moon was alive, were performed on stage and further evolved.
This day’s “Music Must Change” is exactly that, and the magnificent performance that has evolved greatly since 1979 is a masterpiece, and it is even more powerful with the superb sound quality unique to Millard.
Most of all, after “Music Must Change”, The Who’s awakening on this day was amazing, and the development from there to “Who Are You” was a spectacular performance that could be considered the first peak of the day.
In other words, even though Millard was late, he still managed to capture the important part of the day’s live.

But from “Pinball Wizard” onwards, the non-stop runaway run is another spectacular word.
“My Generation”, in which Pete’s tension rises too much and starts over, and “I Can See For Miles”, which is perfect for a snowstorm, is also great. At the end of the live with such a high-tension atmosphere, firecrackers were set off twice at the venue, but the performance continued until the end so intense that even that seemed like a production.
All of the 1980 LA mirrored masters that have been released so far have recorded wonderful performances that can be called “the best figure of the Kenny period The Who”, but this time it is the same … no, the best in 80 LA It is no exaggeration to say that Millard caught the performance of.
For the above reasons, it will be a CD-R release from UXBRIDGE, but the high-tension performance and excellent sound quality that the opening three songs are not recorded will not be a problem, and you will be absolutely satisfied!
