WHITESNAKE who started “THE FAREWELL TOUR MMXXII” which will bring the curtain to the tour life of David Coverdale. The latest superb view video is now available.
This work was shot at “May 10, 2022 Dublin Performance”. It is the superb view audience shot. WHITESNAKE is rumored to be the last one on every tour, but this time around, he actually advocates “FAREWELL”. It was a tour declared to convey goodbye and Arigato to fans all over the world. This work is the first video work. In order to know their recent situation, let’s first confirm the position of the show from the overall picture of the last tour that is currently announced.

This is a schedule that has been known so far. It’s a rather compact schedule, but since the interview with Coverdale also mentioned Japan and South America, it seems that more schedules will be added in the future. Under such circumstances, the Dublin performance of this work is the first day of the “UK” tour (Ireland is a bit rough to call it the UK, but I will summarize it for convenience). In other words, it was Lee’s first kick-off performance.
And this work is an edited work that you can enjoy such a show from various perspectives. However, it is not a multi-camera edit, but a collection of the best shots of each song. Therefore, it is not possible to unequivocally express “angle is XX” and “angle is ◇◇”, but generally speaking, “close” & “superb view”. In particular, the most common main camera is the front row at the tip of the flower path, and Coverdale is really in front of you with zero obstruction! Actually, it is a super dynamic image that you can reach out to the monitor without thinking that you might touch it. Of course, other angles are not defeated either. This work is not a full recording, but it is because I was particular about the image quality. It is possible to use a full cut if you use a bad cut, but I dare to abandon the length and place the highest priority on the purity of “100% superb view”.

I’m so addicted to it that I wonder why I haven’t used it before.
Decided to come to Japan! “THE FAREWELL TOUR MMXXII” which is hard to reach. This is the first report video where you can see the scene from four special seats. Far from calming the feelings of not being able to wait for coming to Japan, it is a sin-making video work that stirs up even more. This is the one I would like you to see now.

そんな本作が撮影されたのは「2022年５月10日ダブリン公演」。その絶景オーディエンス・ショットです。ツアーの度に「今度が最後かも」という噂が立つWHITESNAKEですが、今回ばかりは実際に「FAREWELL」を標榜。世界中のファンにサヨナラとアリガトウを伝えるために、と宣言したツアーとなりました。本作は、その第一報となる映像作品なのです。そんな彼らの近況を知る意味でも、まずは現在公表されているラスト・ツアーの全体像からショウのポジションを確かめてみましょう。

これが現在までに判明しているスケジュール。わりとコンパクトな日程ですが、カヴァデールのインタビューでは日本や南米も挙げているため、今後も日程が追加されていくと思われます。そんな中で本作のダブリン公演は「英国」ツアーの初日（アイルランドを英国と称するのは些か乱暴ですが、便宜上まとめさせていただきます）。つまり、イの一番となるキックオフ公演でした。
そして、本作はそんなショウを様々な視点から楽しめる編集作。と言ってもマルチカメラ編集ではなく、各曲のベスト・ショットを集成した１枚なのです。そのため「アングルは○○」「角度は◇◇」と一概に表現は出来ないのですが、総じて言えるのは「近い」＆「絶景」。特に一番多いメインカメラは花道先端の最前列でして、遮蔽物ゼロにしてカヴァデールが本当に目の前！　実は触れるんじゃないかと思わずモニターに手が伸びる超ダイナミック映像なのです。もちろん、他のアングルも負けていない。ぶっちゃけますと本作はフル収録ではないのですが、それは映像クオリティにこだわり抜いたから。ダメ・カットも使えばフルも可能ですが、あえて長さを捨て「100％絶景」の純度を最重視しているのです。

逆に、ソロ等はないのに目を奪うのが女性ベーシストのタニヤ・オキャラハン。セクシーな衣装と長いブロンドをなびかせてビートを刻む姿は実に華やかで、WHITESNAKEにぴったり。アリス・クーパーやグラハム・ボネット、ジェフ・ベック等、最近では女性メンバーを起用するバンドも増えていますが、WHITESNAKEほど華やかさが似合うバンドもなかなかない。なぜこれまで起用してこなかったんだろうと思うほど自然にハマッているのです。
