The famous soundboard that has been loved as “genuine LIVE AND DANGEROUS” has been brushed up. A press 2CD that permanently preserves the supreme sound polished by the detailed mastering of “GRAF ZEPPELIN” is now available.
“Performance in London on November 15, 1976” is engraved on this work. It is a superb stereo sound board recording recorded at the traditional venue “Hammersmith Odeon”. This week, the golden age sound board masterpiece “JAILBREAK U.S TOUR 1976 (Zodiac 536)” will also be released at the same time, but even if it is the same “1976”, the meaning is different from this work. In order to explain the area, let’s first look back at the activity summary at that time.

This is the history from 1976 to 1978. This work was the 38th performance of “Europe # 1”, and it was a concert that hit the midday of Hammersmith Odeon 3 consecutive performances. It is said that these three days were officially recorded and became the main sound source of “LIVE AND DANGEROUS”. The reason why it got a little rough is because the whole picture of “LIVE AND DANGEROUS” has not been clarified yet. In addition to Hammersmith performances, Philadelphia performances and Toronto performances, which became the official “STILL DANGEROUS”, are also adopted. If that’s all it is, it’s a common story, but there’s a big controversy over the subsequent overdub. According to Tony Visconti, who produced “LIVE AND DANGEROUS”, “75% (= 3/4) is studio recording”. At the same time, he also said, “Only drums and cheers are really live”, so it seems that “3 out of 4 people are overdubbing = 75%”.
“What a drastic revelation…” I thought, but that wasn’t the end of the story. Managers Chris O’Donnell and Scott Gorham refute Visconti’s revelations. “On the contrary, 75% is live. After all, the original material sound source has not been released, and complicated circumstances such as multiple performances of Hersmith and Philadelphia have overlapped, and it is still not confirmed which song is which take.
Anyway, among such “LIVE AND DANGEROUS origins”, there are two long soundboard albums. One is “PHILADELPHIA 1977 1ST NIGHT (Zodiac 113)”, which is the complete version of the official edition “STILL DANGEROUS”, and the other is this work ….
Although this work and “PHILADELPHIA 1977 1ST NIGHT”, there is a gap of about one year at the live site as mentioned above, and the show content is different. Let’s organize the set while comparing here.

そんな本作に刻まれているのは「1976年11月15日ロンドン公演」。伝統の名会場“ハマースミス・オデオン”で記録された極上ステレオ・サウンドボード録音です。今週は同じく黄金時代サウンドボードの傑作『JAILBREAK U.S TOUR 1976（Zodiac 536）』も同時リリースとなりますが、同じ「1976年」であっても本作とは意味合いが異なる。その辺をご説明する為にも、まずは当時の活動概要から振り返ってみましょう。

これが1976年から1978年にかけての歩み。本作は「欧州#1」の38公演目で、ハマースミス・オデオン３連続公演の中日にあたるコンサートでした。この３日間は公式にレコーディングされ、『LIVE AND DANGEROUS』のメイン音源になった……とも言われています。やや歯切れ悪くなったのは、未だに『LIVE AND DANGEROUS』の全貌が解明されていないから。ハマースミス公演だけでなく、公式『STILL DANGEROUS』ともなったフィラデルフィア公演やトロント公演も採用されている。それだけならよくある話なのですが、その後のオーバーダブを巡って大論争。『LIVE AND DANGEROUS』のプロデュースを担ったトニー・ヴィスコンティによると「75％（＝3/4）がスタジオ録音」だそう。同時に「本当にライヴなのはドラムと歓声だけ」とも語っているので「４人中３人がオーバーダブ＝75％」ということなのでしょう。
何とも思い切った暴露話……と思いきや、それで終わりでもなかった。ヴィスコンティの暴露に対してマネージャーのクリス・オドネルやスコット・ゴーハムが反論。「逆に75％がライヴだ」「バッキングヴォーカルと一部のソロを録り直しただけだ」と言い出したからややこしい。結局、元ネタ音源も出揃っておらず、ハースミスもフィラデルフィアも複数公演がある等の複雑な事情が重なり、未だにどの曲がどのテイクなのか確定されていないのです。
ともあれ、そんな「LIVE AND DANGEROUSの大元」の中で、長尺サウンドボード・アルバムとなっているのは２本。１本がは公式盤『STILL DANGEROUS』の完全版である『PHILADELPHIA 1977 1ST NIGHT（Zodiac 113）』、もう１本が本作……というわけです。
そんな本作と『PHILADELPHIA 1977 1ST NIGHT』ですが、上記のようにライヴ現場には約１年のズレがあり、ショウ内容は異なっている。ここで比較しつつ、セットを整理しておきましょう。
