This work was shot at “May 15, 2022 Redondo Beach Performance”. This is a multi-camera pro shot when I performed at the outdoor festival “Beach Life 2022” in California. Steve has been forced to suspend activities due to the new Corona Pandemic, as in the case of the scene, but it has only recently resumed. It’s also a good opportunity, so let’s sort out his recent situation a little wider and check the position of the show.

In addition, although it was decided to be inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2020, this has also been postponed until this year due to the influence of the new Korona-ka. When he entered the “Rock and Roll Hall of Fame” in 2016, he was controversial due to a lot of rants, so it seems that he is getting strange attention this time as well. Anyway, the appearance of this work “Beach Life Festival” was also the final performance of such “North America # 3”.
Such a show was recorded professionally and distributed online. This work is a DVD version of the best master. I’m sure some of you are coming from this title and date. Yes, this work is the same festival as Sheryl Crow’s “BEACHLIFE FESTIVAL 2022 (Uxbridge 1654)” which has been very popular. It’s that masterpiece Steve Miller. As anyone who has experienced the Cheryl edition knows, this work is also of excellent quality. However, the atmosphere can be quite different. The factor is the time zone. Cheryl was a high-day midday appearance, and the members and staff felt that the California sun was dazzling, but Steve’s turn was from dusk to night. Although it is still bright at the start, the sun goes down as each song is completed, and a brightly colored spotlight emerges in the dark night. You can enjoy a fantastic mood (since the sunset time on the day is 19:48, it seems that it started about 30 minutes before that).

そんな本作が撮影されたのは「2022年５月15日レドンドビーチ公演」。カリフォルニアの野外フェス“ビーチライフ2022”に出演した際のマルチカメラ・プロショットです。スティーヴもシーンの例に漏れず新型コロナ・パンデミックによって活動休止を余儀なくされてきましたが、最近になってようやく再開。良い機会でもありますので、彼の近況やや広めに整理し、ショウのポジションを確認してみましょう。

これが現在までに公表されている2020年以降のスケジュール。2020年／2021年に公の場で演奏したのは、指折り数えるほど。2022年も決して多いとは言えませんが、少しずつ調子を取り戻そうとしているのが見て取れます。また、ソングライターの殿堂 入りは2020年には決定していたものの、こちらも新型コロナ禍の影響で今年まで延期。2016年の“ロックの殿堂”入りの際には暴言の数々で物議を醸しただけに、今回も妙な注目を集めているようです。ともあれ、本作の“ビーチライフ・フェスティバル”出演は、そんな「北米#3」の最終公演でもありました。
そんなショウはプロ収録されてネット配信。本作は、そのベスト・マスターからDVD化された銘品なのです。このタイトルと日付からピンと来ている方もいらっしゃると思います。そう、本作は大好評を賜っているシェリル・クロウの『BEACHLIFE FESTIVAL 2022（Uxbridge 1654）』と同じフェス。あの名作のスティーヴ・ミラー篇なのです。シェリル編を体験された方ならご存知と思いますが、本作もまた絶品クオリティ。しかし、雰囲気はだいぶ違ったりもします。その要因は時間帯。シェリルは日の高い真っ昼間の出演で、メンバーもスタッフもカリフォルニアの太陽が眩しくて仕方ない感じでしたが、スティーヴの出番は夕暮れから夜にかけての時間帯。スタート時はまだ明るいものの、１曲また１曲とこなす内に陽光が陰り、闇夜に極彩色のスポットライトが浮かび上がっていく。幻想的なムードが味わえるのです（当日の日没時間は19時48分ですので、大体その30分前くらいから始まったようです）。
そんなムーディ・プロショットで描かれるのは、久々にフルスケールのステージ（約１時間半）でたっぷりと名曲を披露するスティーヴ・ミラー。最後に、その内容も整理しておきましょう。
