Recorded on the last night of the 20th century, this is a shocking sound board. There are various personalities even if you say “sound board” in a bite, but this work is so-called “table direct connection system”. It was recorded by directly connecting a DAT recorder to the on-site mixing desk, without any dubbing marks or deterioration. Although it is as good as an official work if it is purely sound quality, it is more lively. After all, there is no processing that produces a cheering or concert experience because it is a site mix as it is, and if the sound is a musical instrument sound that is not supposed to be played with home audio, it is a pan stereo that flies from end to end The feeling is also strong.
Of course, this personality is the utopia of sound board mania. What you want from a live album depends on the person, but if you have a sense of experience in the audience, there is nothing better than audience recording, and if you have a built-in work feeling, the official live version will be supreme. On the other hand, the taste of the direct connection system is “a sense of synchronization with live performance”. The raw performance, which is unprocessed, dominates everything, and nothing else interferes. The presence of the fingertips, the breathing of singing voices, the feeling of breathing with each other, and the like, the members ascend into the brain as a whole, and the sensation that the skull and stage match perfectly can be experienced. This is the real pleasure of a leaked sound board that can neither be the official version nor the audience recording, and this work can experience its highest peak. The original sound that appeared on the net was amazing, but this work is the ultimate board that has been further refined with meticulous mastering. そんな本作に収められているのは「1999年10月20日：東京厚生年金会館」公演。そのステレオ・サウンドボード録音です。実は現在、コレクター界ではシェリルが熱い。これまで存在も知られていなかった衝撃サウンドボードが続々と発掘されており、そのクオリティとレア度にド肝を抜かれた世界中のマニアが騒然となっています。本作もその１つにして、目玉とも言うべき日本公演の銘品ライヴアルバムなのです。その衝撃の内容の前に、まずはショウのポジション。当時の日程から振り返ってみましょう。

以上、全７公演。東京のハイライトは国際フォーラム２日間だったわけですが、本作はその後。厚生年金会館に場を移した最終日のコンサートでした。そんな20世紀最後の夜で記録された本作は、衝撃の極上サウンドボード。ひと口に「サウンドボード」と言ってもさまざまな個性があるわけですが、本作はいわゆる「卓直結系」。現場のミックス卓にDATレコーダーをダイレクトに繋いで録音されたもので、ダビング痕も劣化も一切なし。純粋にサウンド・クオリティだけならオフィシャル作品にも負けていないものの、生々しさをそれ以上。何しろ、現場ミックスそのままですから歓声やコンサート体験を演出するような加工はまったくなく、家庭用オーディオでの再生を想定していない鳴りも楽器音丸出しなら、会場の端から端まで飛ぶようなパンのステレオ感も強烈です。
もちろん、この個性はサウンドボード・マニアの理想郷。ライヴアルバムに何を求めるかは人それぞれではありますが、客席の体験感ならオーディエンス録音に勝る物はなく、作り込まれた作品感なら公式ライヴ盤こそが至上でしょう。それに対し、卓直結系の旨みは「生演奏とのシンクロ感」。無加工ゆえの生々しい演奏がすべてを支配し、他に邪魔する物は一切ない。指先の存在感や歌声の息づかい、互いの呼吸感など、メンバーが丸ごと脳内に上がり込み、頭蓋とステージが完全一致したような感覚を味わえる。これこそが公式盤でもオーディエンス録音でもあり得ない流出サウンドボードならではの醍醐味であり、本作はその最高峰体験ができるのです。ネットに登場した原音自体が驚異的でしたが、本作はさらに細心マスタリングで磨き上げた究極盤。やや淡泊だった鳴りを艶やかにし、ボリュームやステレオ感など不安定になるパートも補正。衝撃サウンドボードの可能性を最大限に引き出しました。
