This is the 1976/1977 SCORPIONS. At that time, they were only active in Europe, and they had never crossed Japan or North America. Like the West German band, they had been performing live in Switzerland from early on, but there was no live in 1977. Since he is playing the “VIRGIN KILLER” number and Rudy Lenners is sitting on the stool, it seems that it is around “Europe # 2” and “Europe # 3”, but it is a dead end. ..

The quality of this work is … super and superb! Actually, a short video was recently released on the internet as a sample, and there was a lot of noise among the keen core enthusiasts, but this work is the full-length version (about 32 minutes) that appeared after that. It’s not an air check, there is no color bleeding or twisting, and there are no dubbing marks. It’s a perfect master quality as if you were killed yesterday.
And the content is extremely unrivaled. It’s an in-station sradio with no spectators, but this is the live performance. とにかくビックリだらけの１枚ですが、その内容は謎でもある。まず本作が撮影されたのがいつ、どこなのかも不明。1977年にスイスで放送されたマルチカメラ・プロショット（フランス語で語る司会者も登場します）という事は分かっているのですが、そこから先が掴めない。その状況をご説明するためにも、まずは当時のスケジュールを紐解いてみましょう。

これが1976年／1977年のSCORPIONS。当時の彼らはヨーロッパだけが活動範囲であり、日本も北米も渡った事がない時期でした。西独バンドの例に漏れず彼らも早くからスイスでもライヴ活動は行っていたのですが、1977年にはライヴはありませんでした。『VIRGIN KILLER』ナンバーを演奏している事、スツールに座っているのがルディ・レナーズという事から「欧州#2」「欧州#3」辺りではないかと思われますが、それ以上は行き止まりなのです。
ナゾはそのくらいにして、本題。
本作のクオリティは……超・極上！　実は最近サンプル的に短い動画がネット公開されて目敏いコア・マニア間で騒ぎとなっていたのですが、本作はその後になって登場した全長版（約32分）。エアチェックではなく色滲みやヨレもなければ、ダビング痕もまるでない。まるで昨日殺意されたかのような完全マスター・クオリティなのです。
そして、その内容こそが強烈無比。観客がいない局内スラジオなのですが、これが本生ライヴ。これまでウリ時代のプロショットと言えば、極わずかなプロモやマイム映像程度でした。本作はそれらとは違い、完全生演奏で８曲が楽しめるのです。その内容も整理しておきましょう。

サイケなシャツに身を包み、思いっきりカメラ目線で暴れるクラウス・マイネ、完全に脇役扱いになっているルドルフ・シェンカー、そして強烈無比な演奏とプレゼンスで主役を独占しているウリ。その貴重な生演奏をマルチカメラ・プロショットで観られる新発掘映像です。こんな映像が存在していたとは。45年も経って目撃できるとは。今の今までハードロックが好きで良かった……久々にそう思わせてくれる衝撃の１枚。どうぞ、本作で存分にご体験ください！
