A one-time special “THE WALL live” that is different from 1980/1981 and 2010-2013. Introducing a special version with full Japanese subtitles for the lyrics.
The special edition THE WALL was performed on “July 21, 1990”. A historic concert held in Berlin on the eve of the unification of East and West Germany (about 10 weeks ago) when the wall collapsed the previous year. Yes, it is a multi-camera pro shot that is familiar in the official video work “THE WALL: LIVE IN BERLIN”. At that time, it became a hot topic that “Finally you can watch” Stage version THE WALL “with professional shots!”, And it was a must-see video for all prog rockers, but of course this work is not a copy of the official product. This video is a big event that symbolizes the end of the Cold War, and is also broadcast on TV. This work is a Japanese broadcast version that was broadcast by a certain satellite broadcasting station.

[Long version with a sense of the end of the Cold War] You may be wondering, “Is there an official product now?”, But this broadcast version far surpasses the official version. First of all, it’s long. The official DVD was about 110 minutes, but this work is more than 5 minutes long. The difference is clear from the beginning. The product version starts with the appearance scene of SCORPIONS riding a white limousine following the title logo, but this work starts before that. The show was also a charity concert by the British charity “Memorial Fund for Disaster Relief”, but it also includes greetings from its organizers, Leonard Chescher and the Mayors of East and West Berlin. Don’t despise it as just a greeting. At that time, it was still before the unification of East and West Germany, and there was one mayor of Berlin in each of the east and west (Tino Schviatina and Walter Momper). Such a sense of the times is projected as Ali Ali.
Even bigger is the middle of the show. A charity announcement is also inserted between “Goodbye Cruel World” and “Hey You”, which the original album returns. This is not a TV commercial, but a part of a show that seamlessly transitions from the scene of the scene. The purpose of charity is to rescue the victims of the war, and the significance of charity is talked about along with the documentary footage of the war. I don’t know if they were raising funds at the release stage of the official video work, but you can also enjoy the charity color cut from the product version.

[With Japanese subtitles that allow you to intuitively understand the concept] The length is epoch-making, but what makes me even more happy is the Japanese subtitles. That is also attached to the lyrics. This is really great. Not limited to “THE WALL”, story albums and rock operas are led by stories. If you are not fluent in English, you will not be able to understand the story easily. Of course, I think that many people listen while reading the bilingual lyrics, but that is not suitable for live video where the scene is also important. It is also difficult to understand the story while synchronizing with the music that changes without stopping for a moment.
However, this work has Japanese subtitles. You can heal such dryness at once and immerse yourself in the story while being impressed by the melody as if you were watching an ordinary Western movie. The conversational feeling of singing with many casts, the spectacle of screen images that unfold the song as narration, the acting ability to open the eyes while singing “I can understand it by looking at my eyes”, etc. The video, lyrics, and music are all connected in real time, giving you an impression that you can’t think of the same video.

I completely forgot to write it because it was so wonderful. The visual beauty that conveys such a Japanese broadcast version is also a special mention. In our shop, we are archiving a number of music programs with the finest master by a core recording enthusiast, but this work is also the latest bullet. This enthusiast not only uses high-end equipment of the times, but also pays attention to the reception status and wiring of radio waves, and is hard-core to stick to the master storage environment after recording. It was talked about in the Japanese performance video of Michael Jackson and Prince, but this work is more than that. The noiseless and glossy screen makes me wonder, “Wake up the official LD?”
It goes without saying that Bryan Adams, Van Morrison, Sinéad O’Connor, Cyndi Lauper, Joni Mitchell, etc., are innumerable super-luxury guests, differences in arrangements, and numerous show productions. It is a one-time “THE WALL” engraved in our hearts. It is a long and special version complete with charity scenes and Japanese subtitles that further enhance that special sense of history, and it is an absolute masterpiece that made the design into a DVD with the highest quality in history. Please enjoy it to your heart’s content!

★ Multi-camera pro shot of “July 21, 1990 Berlin performance”. This is the Japanese broadcast version of the official video “THE WALL: LIVE IN BERLIN”. It is more than 5 minutes longer than the official product version, and it is a long board where you can see cutscenes such as greetings from the mayors of East and West Berlin and the organizers of charity and announcements calling for charity. What makes me even more happy is the Japanese subtitles. The lyrics translation is displayed, and you can understand the story of “THE WALL” in real time and intuitively. Moreover, the beauty of the image by the core recording enthusiast is just like a laser disc. It is an absolute masterpiece that you can deeply enjoy “90’s version THE WALL” that was realized only once.

★ Japanese original subtitles. More than 5 minutes longer than the official! (Important scene)
