“This Is Not A Drill” has become a hot topic with the announcement of a movie screening, while some of the events have been litigated. A powerful live album that will be the latest report will also appear this week.
“April 15, 2023 Stockholm performance” is imbued in this work. It is a superb audience recording that vacuum packs the whole picture. “This Is Not A Drill” can be roughly classified into “North American tour in 2022” and “European tour in 2023”, and this work is the second report of the latter. This is the schedule for 2022/2023 that has been announced so far (the recording collection of the North American tour is omitted). As I reported last time, the Polish performance was canceled due to Roger’s political remarks, and the Frankfurt City Council recommended the cancellation. After that, the Frankfurt Administrative Court ruled that “Roger has the right to hold a concert,” but there is still a possibility that the city council will appeal. The time is approaching until May 28th, when the show will be held, and the trend is attracting attention.
Now. This work is the second report of such a European tour. It is an audience recording recorded at the Stockholm performance, which is the 15th performance. And the sound is super clear & super tight. I had a bad feeling when I heard conversations at the start of the performance, but the moment I realized that the performance had started, the scene fell silent. And as soon as Roger starts singing … this is amazing. Anyway, the core is on violently and the sense of distance is zero. Detail goes beyond just being clear or fine. What can I say, it feels like listening directly to the PA output sound without processing. When the performance ends, there is a realistic applause again, so I remember it as an audience, but the essential performance sound has no sense of customer recording.
In the sense of “just like a sound board”, it is similar to the previous work “MILAN 2023 2ND NIGHT”, but the feel is different from this work. In the previous work, the hall sound was still clearly felt, and it was also thick. On the other hand, this work has a stronger “feeling of sticking out”. If you compare it, the previous work is like an official work, and this work has a direct feeling like IEMs interception.
It’s no surprise that the sound turned out to be just that. This work was recorded by Mr. “mats666” who is a hot topic as a modern master. Mr. “mats666” is famous for polishing works of various tapers with exquisite mastering, but in fact his recording skills are also master class. Although it is not certain whether recording know-how is obtained from masters, it is a wonderful sound that can only be thought so.
The latest version of “This Is Not A Drill” is depicted with such a high-class direct sound. That being said, the set itself is fixed and there are no particular changes this time around. Some people may have missed the previous work, so I will repost it just in case.

“Anyway, a surprising direct feeling.” Although there is an echo in the vocals and chorus, it feels like an effect process rather than an echo in the space. The previous work “MILAN 2023 2ND NIGHT”, which shines with a rich luster, is of course wonderful, but if you want to pursue the line feeling, this work is better. A new masterpiece that allows you to fully experience “This Is Not A Drill” with such a sharp and tight sound. Please enjoy it to your heart’s content.
★ The best audience recording of “Stockholm performance on April 15, 2023”. It is super clear and super tight, and the core that is turned on is approaching with zero sense of distance. The details are more than just clear or fine, it’s like listening directly to the PA output sound without processing.
