This is the overall picture of “This Is Not A Drill” that has been published to date. Next year’s European leg has been announced for 12 performances, but if you look closely, there are (unnaturally) offs of about 3 weeks before and after “Europe # 2”. There are still rumors of more additions being planned. The demons will laugh at talking about next year, so if we go back to this year, we will release the live album “PITTSBURGH 2022 (Amity 687)” on the first day of the tour as the first report of the tour. This work will be the second installment for the first time in two months.
This work has a superb sound that is well worth the wait. The previous work “PITTSBURGH 2022” was also the highest grade, but the type is slightly different. While the previous work was a type that overwhelmed with the dynamism of the sound, this work has a wonderful clarity of air and vivid details. A clear core powerfully penetrates to the outline in the middle of the clear and sunny space, and its vividness is as clear as a laser beam. On the other hand, it is natural and does not have the sharpness that pierces the ears. The large chorus that boils with the Floyd number is also obediently sucked in, and there is no mistaking it for a sound board in terms of tone. However, the ease of listening to performance sounds and the subtleties of ensembles that do not mix even when intertwined are the splendor of the FM broadcast class.
The clear sound depicted is the full show of “This Is Not A Drill”, which Roger says is “the first goodbye tour.” The set is fixed, but it’s still the second one, so let’s organize it again.

… and it looks like this. The show consists of two parts, “First part = DISC 1 / Second part = DISC 2”. The usual set arrangement is replaced for each album, but the above song order is the same. The show itself has a section structure for each album, and the second part also shows the B-side reproduction of “Madness”.
While playing plenty of select and major songs that everyone will be happy with, there are plenty of rare songs in between. I haven’t played “Outside The Wall”, “Shine On You Crazy Diamond (parts VI-IX)”, “The Powers That Be” for about 20 years, and “Two Suns In The Sunset” of “Final Cut”. ” debuted “This Is Not A Drill” on stage. New songs “The Bar” and “The Bar (reprise)” are also shown.
“This Is Not A Drill” has not reached the point where the set has been replaced yet, but has been mastered through many occasions. It is a live album where you can experience the full show with a clear sound that will wake you up. There was a gap because the famous recording of “Korezo!” Please fully enjoy “Roger Waters in 2022”, which cannot be expected in Japan.

これが現在までに公表されている“This Is Not A Drill”の全体像。来年の欧州レッグは12公演分が発表となったわけですが、よく見ると「欧州#2」の前後には約３週間ずつのオフが（不自然に）設定されている。まだまだ更なる追加が計画されているのではないか……そんな噂もくすぶっているところです。来年の話ばかりでは鬼が笑ってしまいますので今年に戻しますと、当店ではツアー第一報として初日のライヴアルバム『PITTSBURGH 2022（Amity 687）』をリリース。本作は２ヶ月ぶりの第二弾となります。
そんな本作は、待った甲斐のある極上サウンド。前作『PITTSBURGH 2022』も極上級でしたが、タイプが少々違う。前作が鳴りのダイナミズムで圧倒するタイプだったのに対し、本作は空気感の透明度とディテールの鮮やかさが素晴らしいのです。スキッと晴れ渡った空間のド真ん中を輪郭まで鮮明な芯が力強く貫き、その鮮やかさはレーザー光線のようにくっきり。その一方、あくまでもナチュラルで耳に突き刺さるような鋭さはない。フロイド・ナンバーで沸き立つ大合唱も素直に吸い込んでいますし、音色的にもサウンドボードと間違える事はありません。しかし、演奏音の聞きやすさと絡み合っても混じらないアンサンブルの機微は、FM放送クラスの素晴らしさなのです。
そのクリア・サウンドで描かれるのは、ロジャーが「最初のサヨナラ・ツアー」と語る“This Is Not A Drill”のフルショウ。セットは固定ですが、まだ第二弾ですので再び整理しておきましょう。

……と、このようになっています。ショウは二部構成で「第一部＝DISC 1／第二部＝DISC 2」となっています。普段のセット整理はアルバム毎に入れ替えますが、上記は曲順もそのまま。ショウ自体がアルバムごとのセクション構成になっており、第二部では『狂気』のＢ面再現も披露されています。
セレクトも誰もが喜ぶ大代表曲もたっぷりと演奏しつつ、合間合間にはレア曲もしっかり。「Outside The Wall」「Shine On You Crazy Diamond (parts VI-IX)」「The Powers That Be」といった辺りは20年ほど演奏していなかったですし、『ファイナル・カット』の「Two Suns In The Sunset」は“This Is Not A Drill”がステージ初公開。新曲の「The Bar」「The Bar (reprise)」も披露されています。
まだセットの入れ替えには至っていないながらも、場数を踏んでこなれてきた“This Is Not A Drill”。そのフルショウを目も醒めるクリア・サウンドで体験できるライヴアルバムです。なかなか「コレぞ！」の名録音が登場しなかったために間が空きましたが、その甲斐が十分にある最新レポート。日本では望むべくもない「2022年のロジャー・ウォーターズ」、どうぞ本作で存分に味わってください。
