Rick Wakeman in 1975 reigned as the standard-bearer of symphonic rock with a huge success that surpassed even YES in his solo literary trilogy. Introducing a super-superb live album that tells the story of his solo career’s biggest tour site.
It was “November 11, 1975 Anaheim performance” that was imbued with such a work. It is a transcendental audience recording by the master tape of the legendary master Mike Millard. Speaking of 1975, the official video “JOURNEY TO THE CENTRE OF THE EARTH” and the excavation live album “RICK WAKEMAN IN CONCERT” of King Biscuit Flower Hour are left, and it is also the year when the legendary solo first visit to Japan was realized. In order to sort out the situation in that area, let’s first look back on the schedule at that time.

・ January 16-24: Japan (7 performances)
・ February 4-13 + March 15: Oceania (4 performances) ← * Official video
“March 27,” King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table “released”
・ May 31st + June 1st: London (2 performances)
・ October 3-December 1: North America (37 performances) ← ★ Coco ★
・ December 18-21: South America (4 performances)

This is Rick Wakeman in 1975. As a matter of fact, there are many ambiguities in the materials at that time, so the above is just for reference. The details such as the number of performances are uncertain …. Honestly, don’t believe it. However, I understand the general flow. The video version “JOURNEY TO THE CENTRE OF THE EARTH” was a performance in Melbourne immediately after coming to Japan, but the performance in Anaheim of this work is a national tour after the release of the 3rd album “King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table”. This is the 27th performance of “North America” leg. KBFH’s “IN CONCERT” was also a record for the “North America” leg, and was performed in San Francisco (November 2nd) about a week before this work.
This work recorded at such a show is a super-superb sound with the mirrored magic that opened its eyes fully open. As I’ve mentioned several times, 1975 was a turning point for Millard. We used “Shure mic + Sony TC-152SD” in the first half, but introduced “AKG mic + Nakamichi 550” in the middle. The sound quality has improved at once for the first time in wheelchair recording, which has become a myth. A technique has been established that will make the name “Mirrored” roar throughout the world. By the way, the last recording using the predecessor “TC-152SD” is said to be JETHRO TULL in February 1975 (you can enjoy it at our “L.A. FORUM 1975 4TH NIGHT (Uxbridge 1262)”).
Also, the equipment was not the only factor that made the best sound of this work. The “Anaheim Convention Center”, which was the site, is not the main battlefield of Millard, but fortunately it was already captured by David Bowie’s “ANAHEIM 1974 (Wardour-421)” the previous year. It seems that he struggled to see through the reaction of the venue at the time of Bowie (although it is amazing that I can not hear that), but at the time of Rick it has been woven perfectly. Moreover, Rick’s equipment seems to be the same as when YES (I don’t really know, but Millard felt that way), and Millard, who is an avid YES fan, was able to grasp the habit of sound output perfectly. It is. I’m sorry for the recording process, not the “sound description”, but the early stories prove those anecdotes. If you are familiar with the mirrored works so far, you may think that it looks amazing, but the sound that you imagined comes out of the speakers.
What is drawn with such a miracle sound is the precious and superb symphonic rock Taoyuan Township. KBFH’s “IN CONCERT” mentioned above is the latest, but unlike the cut broadcast sound board, this work is a full recording. Let’s organize the set while comparing.

● Literary trilogy
・ The Six Wives of Henry VIII: Catherine Howard / Anne Boleyn / Catherine Parr
・ Underground exploration: The Journey / Recollection / The Forest / The Battle (★)
・ King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table: Sir Lancelot and the Black Knight / Arthur & Guinevere / Merlin The Magician
● Others
・ Down And Out (★) / Hungarian Rhapsody (★)
* Note: “★” marks are songs that cannot be heard on King Biscuit Flower Hour’s official excavation board “RICK WAKEMAN IN CONCERT”.

… And it looks like this. The trilogy was also a concept album, but here the album is not reproduced in particular, and it is replaced like a normal concert. Even in “Underground Exploration” where all songs are played, the A-side part is played at the opening, but the B-side part is scattered. It’s not conceptual, but instead, the concentration of the initial 3 works + the essence of “List Mania” is amazing. The pole of dramaticism that far exceeds YES is exactly the utopia of symphonic rock, and it is a live album that also functions as the best album of early solos.
Rick Wakeman and Mike Millard are engraved as geniuses in rock history from a completely different perspective. This work was born because the two were in the same place in 1975 when their talents were in full bloom. A cultural heritage of recording art that can be found at the scene of such a miracle. Please fully experience with the permanent storage press 2CD.

★ Recording of a superb audience of “November 11, 1975 Anaheim performance”. It is a branded product directly digitized from the master tape of the legendary master Mike Millard. By starting to use the famous machine “Nakamichi 550”, which is synonymous with Mirrored, the quality has improved dramatically, and with the sound output that closely resembles YES, which is our specialty, one of the best sounds in the Mirrored collection has been realized. You can experience the best full show with concentrated literary trilogy, including “Down And Out”, “Hungarian Rhapsody”, and “The Battle”, which you can’t even hear on KBFH’s official excavation board “IN CONCERT”.

★ It is the highest sound quality title of Mirrored. A miracle piece.

1975年と言えば、公式映像『JOURNEY TO THE CENTRE OF THE EARTH』やKing Biscuit Flower Hourの発掘ライヴアルバム『RICK WAKEMAN IN CONCERT』が残され、伝説的なソロ初来日が実現した年でもある。

FORUM 1975 4TH NIGHT(Uxbridge 1262)』でお楽しみ頂けます)。

Catherine Howard/Anne Boleyn/Catherine Parr
The Journey/Recollection/The Forest/The Battle(★)
Sir Lancelot and the Black Knight/Arthur & Guinevere/Merlin The Magician
・Down And Out(★)/Hungarian Rhapsody(★)
