From the hot topic “Stephane” collection, a new shock master has been discovered! It is the birth of a press CD that permanently preserves RATT, which was the last shine of the golden age !!
What is engraved in this work is “October 20, 1990 Karlsdorf-Neutart performance”. It is the best audience recording. Speaking of the “DETONATOR” era, while sending out a masterpiece that teamed up with Desmond Child, it is heading toward collapse. This is the 1990/1991 RATT. Schenker also co-starred on MTV UNPLUGGED just before the album was released, but basically only the last “North America # 2”. On the other hand, the Karlsdorf-Neutart performance of this work was the fifth performance of the “Europe” leg, which was the beginning of the tour.
This work, which is a vacuum-packed show, is the latest release by Mr. Stephane, a master who delights HR / HM collectors around the world. It is said to be a French recorder by its name, and recently recorded French / Swiss recordings from the end of the 80’s to the early 90’s. New press masterpieces such as BLACK SABBATH’s “DEFINITIVE PARIS 1992 (Zodiac 467)” and IRON MAIDEN’s “DEFINITIVE PARIS 1993 (Zodiac 469)” have also been very well received. This work is the RATT version. The tone that breathes in the real enthusiasm and air is not the type that is mistaken for a sound board, but the vividness of the powerful core and the fineness of the details can be mistaken. When you listen to it at a glance, the sound of the hall is thick !? The outline of each sound spun by five people jumps into your hand, and the natural presence is delicious, which is a beauty that is similar to the kinny sound in Japan.
The clear beautiful sound is drawn with a delicious full show with the hidden masterpiece “DETONATOR” number. It’s a tight coupling tour with THE ALMIGHTY, which has just made its debut in Europe, so it’s about 76 minutes, but it’s packed with classic songs from the golden age. … And it looks like this. The classics that carefully selected the representative songs of “Korezo!” From each album are also rich, but the core “DETONATOR” number is wonderful. Not only “Givin’Yourself Away” which was sealed for 17 years after this, but also “One Step Away”, “Heads I Win, Tails You Lose”, “Scratch That Itch”, “Top Secret” and many famous songs from that time. Although unacceptable to the grunge-dominated scene, the RATT and Desmond sound were surprisingly well-matched. It’s also a live album that seems to prove it.
Needless to say about the subsequent collapse and tragedy. What is permanently preserved in this work is on the verge of breaking due to the freaky fashion. It is the last brilliance of the ratton roll that can be played because of “the five people”. The honeymoon of the climax is passing, and that’s why the late masterpieces that you can enjoy are also dazzling. Please enjoy it with the press CD!

これが1990年／1991年のRATT。シェンカーはアルバム発売直前のMTV UNPLUGGEDでも共演していましたが、基本的には最後の「北米#2」のみ。それに対し、本作のカールスドルフ＝ノイタルト公演はツアー序盤だった「欧州」レッグの５公演目にあたるコンサートでした。
そんなショウを真空パックした本作は、世界中のHR/HMコレクターを歓喜させている達人「Stephane」氏の最新公開作。その名からフランス人録音家と言われており、最近になって80年代末から90年代初期のフランス／スイス録音を連発。BLACK SABBATHの『DEFINITIVE PARIS 1992（Zodiac 467）』やIRON MAIDENの『DEFINITIVE PARIS 1993（Zodiac 469）』など、プレス新名盤も大好評を賜っています。本作は、そのRATT篇となるもの。リアルな熱狂や空気感も吸い込んだ音色はサウンドボードと間違えるタイプではないものの、力強い芯の鮮やかさやディテールの細やかさは間違えてもおかしくない。パッと聴くとホール鳴りが厚い!?と思わせつつ、これもよく聴くと出音自体のエフェクト感。５人が紡ぐ１音１音が輪郭もクッキリと手元に飛びこみ、それでいてナチュラルな臨場感も美味しい感覚は、日本で言うところのキニー・サウンドにも通じる美感なのです。
そのクリアな美音で描かれるのは、隠れ名盤『DETONATOR』ナンバーも美味しいフルショウ。ヨーロッパではデビュー間もないTHE ALMIGHTYとのカップリング・ツアーだったために約76分とタイトではありますが、そこに黄金時代の名曲がギュウ詰め。ここでその内容も整理しておきましょう。

……と、このようになっています。各アルバムから「コレぞ！」の代表曲を厳選したクラシックスも濃厚ですが、軸となる『DETONATOR』ナンバーこそが素晴らしい。この後17年間封印された「Givin’ Yourself Away」だけでなく、「One Step Away」「Heads I Win, Tails You Lose」「Scratch That Itch」「Top Secret」と当時だからこその名曲がたっぷり。グランジに席巻されたシーンには受け入れられなかったものの、RATTとデズモンド・サウンドとの相性は意外なほど良かった。それを証明するかのようなライヴアルバムでもあるのです。
