Prince 21 years latest outtakes, collection of rarities, long-awaited release!

It’s been a long time! Prince’s latest 21-year outtakes, rare sound source collection is now available! The opening is a completely unreleased song from 1977, an early recording of Prince made at the Loring Park Rehersal Room in Minneapolis. Owen Hasney, the manager there, bought and installed a drum machine for Prince, and Prince used it to create a funk, which is Prince’s first drum machine song. Sly’s funkness, Booty Collins-like tweets, and Prince-like cutting make it a very comfortable song. Next is a demo backed by the acoustic guitar of I Feeol For You, which was already completed in December 1978. And although the time is unknown, it turns out that Piano Jam No. 1, which also includes Raspberry Beret’s research, is completely due to Prince, including Prince’s scat. You can listen to the Prince-like piano in Part 2 below. And again, it’s a piano rose, which is a well-known song, 21 Guns is a song from 1998 to 2000, or an outtake that is speculated to have been made during the graffiti bridge period. You will want to listen to the version that will be completed by repeating the impressive melody many times and humming it unintentionally. Bridge Of Graffiti, allegedly recorded at Paisley Park or Prince’s home in July 1987, is still a great piano demo, following the concept of the movie Graffiti Bridge, but completely different from Graffiti Bridge. It is a phantom song that is not included in the tune and the first composition of the movie on September 22, 1987. And the version of the mix that is very different from the album of Around The World In A Day, the one with the highest sound quality is recorded. And 1987 Kiss Auckland! The live version with the voice of (I think it’s a rehearsal because there isn’t this version in Auckland) includes a development where Prince sings and jams Cindy C from the cutting at the end of the song, which is Questlove in 20 years. It’s from a treasured tape that was played when he was DJing, and has been remixed by Questlove. Also a live version of Crazy You from Questlove’s tape, this is a soundboard from a gig at Sams, the predecessor of First Avenue on March 9, 1981. Prince’s guitar is very funky and has a novel arrangement that is not a ballad. And Nevaeh Ni Ecalp A is not a reverse rotation version of A Place In Heaven, but a version of the original A Place In Heaven state. It’s interesting that Lisa and Wendy harmonize, and the pipe organ-like tone goes into the backing, making it more decorative than the simple version of A Place In Heaven. And the 2009 rehearsal sound source When The Lights Go Down is probably from the Montreux Jazz Festival session and from the sound board, Rhonda Smith’s treasured sound source. It turned out that Millenia’s 2005 album, which participated in the 2001 Hit’n Run Tour with a chorus, is actually Prince. A remix of Promise and No Can Do. It is said that Prince did not participate in No Can Do’s original song, but it may be included. And finally, it is said that it is due to the remix of S.S.T., Prince, which was played on the KCRW Santa Monica radio station, and it is actually a sound that feels somehow airy and refreshing while backing downer.

超久々！プリンスの21年の最新アウトテイクス、レア音源集が登場です！オープニングは77年の完全未発表曲、ミネアポリスにあったLoring Park Rehersal Roomで作られたプリンスの初期のレコーディングです。そこでのマネージャーのオーウェン・ハスニーがプリンスのためにドラム・マシーンを購入、設置し、プリンスがそれを使って作り上げたファンクで、プリンスが初めてドラム・マシーンを使った曲ということになります。スライのファンクネスにブーチィー・コリンズ的つぶやき、そしてプリンスのらしいカッティングが心地良い至極曲となっています。続いてやはり初期、78年12月に既に完成していたI Feeol For Youのアコースティック・ギターをバックにしたデモです。そして時期は不明ですが、ラズベリー・ベレー的調べも入るピアノ・ジャムその1はプリンスのスキャットも入って完全にプリンスによるものであることがわかります。続くその2もプリンスらしいピアノが聴けます。そしてやはりピアノ・バラでド、これは曲名がわかっている、21 Gunsは98年から00年にかけての曲、もしくはグラフィティ・ブリッジ時期に作られた、と色々憶測されているアウトテイクです。印象的なメロディは何度もリピートして聴き思わず口ずさんでしまうほどで完成しているだろうバージョンが聴きたくなります。87年7月、ペイズリーパーク、もしくはプリンスの自宅でのレコーディングだとされているBridge Of Graffitiはやはり素晴らしいピアノ・デモで、映画グラフィティ・ブリッジのコンセプトを踏襲しているものの、Graffiti Bridgeとは全く異なる曲調、そして87年9月22日の映画の最初の構成曲にも入っていない幻の曲です。そしてAround The World In A Dayのアルバムとは大きく異なるミックスのバージョン、その最高音質のものを収録。そして87年のKissのオークランド！の声が入るライブ・バージョンは（オークランドでこのバージョンはないのでリハーサルだと思われます）、曲終わりのカッティングからCindy Cをプリンスが歌いジャムをする展開が含まれ、これは20年にクエストラブがDJをした際に流された秘蔵のテープからで、クエストラブによってリミックスがされています。同様にクエストラブのテープからCrazy Youのライブ・バージョン、これは81年3月9日のファーストアヴェニューの前身、サムズでのギグからのサウンドボードです。プリンスのギターがとてもファンキーで、バラードではない斬新なアレンジとなっています。そしてNevaeh Ni Ecalp AはA Place In Heavenの逆回転のバージョンではなく、元々のA Place In Heaven状態のバージョンです。リサとウェンディがハモったり、パイプオルガンのような音色がバッキングに入り、A Place In Heavenのシンプルなバージョンよりデコラティブになっているのが面白いです。そして09年のリハーサル音源When The Lights Go Downは恐らくモントルー・ジャズ・フェスのセッション時の音源でサウンドボード、ロンダ・スミスの秘蔵の音源からのものだと思われます。01年のヒットンラン・ツアーにコーラスで参加したミレニアの05年のアルバム、実はプリンスが参加していることがわかりました。PromiseとNo Can Doのリミックスです。尚No Can Doのオリジナル曲にはプリンスは参加していないとされていますが、もしかすると、なので収録されています。そして最後にはKCRWサンタモニカのラジオ局で流されたS.S.T.のリミックス、プリンスによるものと言われており、実際ダウナーなバッキングながらどこか風通しの良い清々しさが感じられるサウンドになっています。
