The shocking debut of THE POLICE, which was also an incident. Two types of sound board albums that will pour the intense live performance into the brain will be released at the same time.
This work is the second of two simultaneous releases. It is a stereo sound board recording of “April 7, 1979 Boston Performance”. 1979 is remembered as the release year of “REGGATTA DE BLANC”, but it was a while before the tour switched. The significance of the show changes greatly depending on the time, so let’s first look at the schedule at that time.

This is THE POLICE in 1979. “REGGATTA DE BLANC” was released in October, but the tour started right after its completion (August). The previous June was the “OUTLANDOS D’AMOUR Tour”, and the Boston performance of this work was the main leg “North America # 1” act. Some of you may have already come to the pin, but the simultaneous release “HOUSTON 1979 SOUNDBOARD (Uxbridge 1938)” is also this “North America # 1”. Let’s focus more on the schedule and check out the collection.

… and it looks like this. As many as five soundboards are scattered, but the focus is on the press masterpiece “BERKELEY 1979 PRE-FM (Wardour-527)” at the beginning of March. On the contrary, this work is a record of April in the final stage.
This work, which conveys such a show, is a truly wonderful FM soundboard. It is a version that was rebroadcast in 1991 on Boston’s local station “WBCN (now: WWBX)”, not at the time of the live, and was digitized from the recently discovered air check master (by the way, “WBCN ” was a legendary radio station commonly known as “The Rock of Boston” and is also known for leading U2 to breakthrough). There is only a rebroadcast of the 90’s, and the sound is so-called “official grade”. It’s an air check, not a pre-FM, so it was introduced by the Uxbridge label. No deterioration such as dubbing marks can be seen, and it is as if the broadcast radio waves at that time were directly received.
Such a sound depicts a full show burning with a harsh tour, where two performances a day are commonplace. The set is the same as the press masterpiece press masterpiece “BERKELEY 1979 PRE-FM”, but let’s repeat it here just in case.
● Outlands Damour
・Can’t Stand Losing You (twice) / Truth Hits Everybody / So Lonely / Born In The 50’s / Hole in My Life / Be My Girl – Sally / Peanuts / Roxanne / Next to You
●Single
・Fall Out/Landlord
In the simultaneous release “HOUSTON 1979 SOUNDBOARD”, it was not recorded until the second “Can’t Stand Losing You”, but this work is completely recorded. A full show that will be “Live performance version OUTLANDOS D’AMOUR” will be poured directly into your brain with a directly connected sound board.
The early days of THE POLICE evolved at an accelerated pace, performing a harsh tour along with their debut. Because of its rapid evolution, you can not miss listening to short-span soundboards. One piece that you can taste such “Spring of 1979” with the freshness of the 90’s rebroadcast. Please fully enjoy this work of the new excavation master.
