A new miracle excavation by the original mster before cutting
The true identity of this work is “More” from the shocking highest-quality sound series “FLAT TRANSFER MASTER”. This series is a master tape newly discovered in a certain European country, brought by our own route. The inside is the origin of the surprise. It is neither a product LP raising nor a cutting master. It was a zero-degradation master tape that had never been converted to physical grooves. Moreover, the finished product. Mixdown and mastering are perfectly finished, not the kind of demos and rough mixes that tend to be found in outflows. It is just a guess, but perhaps it was one of the master tapes distributed to each country for the press. Despite being a well-known masterpiece, it was a shocking work drawn with an unknown master sound.
“FLAT TRANSFER MASTER” was made into a series, and conveyed the highest peak sound of numerous masterpieces such as “Umaguma (no live disc)”, “Atomic Heart Mother” and “The Wall”. This work is the “More” edition.

– Shocking “Moa” that even the presence of a small bird is expressed
The biggest point of this work is, of course, the sound. “Umaguma (Live DISC)”, which was the first release, was also a shock, but it was a live album. However, this work is a studio work. The upgrade is even more vivid. The most wonderful thing is its freshness. The masters of the early PINK FLOYD works deteriorated when they were first released on CD in 1987. Even the remastered version of the 90’s only deceived the deterioration by digital processing, and it was thought that the sound at the time the album was produced was lost. However, in the newly excavated “FLAT TRANSFER MASTER”, the “sound before deterioration” was left. This work is a press CD that permanently preserves the true master sound without any equalizing or limiter.
In fact, the subtleties of that sound are something I’ve never experienced before. Already, “Cirrus Minor” is completely different from the intro chirping. The CDs so far have been about “a little bird is singing”, but this work feels like “a little bird’s throat is trembling”. You can feel the vibration of the feathers that tremble with the call, and the nuances of the call that subtly change by shaking the head finely.
If the SE is that detailed, the difference in the performance sound will be even more vivid. The roaring guitar in “The Nile Song” can feel the vibration of the strings, and the percussion in “Crying Song” is clear to the slightest shaking effect. Of course, such detailing has more than just fine details. Up until now, CDs have had the feeling that “plates of performance” pile up like layers as various sounds overlap, but this work is not a “plate”, but a “string” of each note. It feels like It weaves the cloth of music in all directions, and feels the sound world in three dimensions. It’s not just a good audio sound, but it also has a sense of reality that can be seen through to the presence of the “vibration of the instrument” and the “player’s fingers” that should be on the other side.
The main album alone is overwhelming, but this work also includes an even more delicious bonus track. You can also enjoy 4 takes, which are outtakes of “More”. This is not the outflow “FLAT TRANSFER MASTER”, but it is still recorded in the highest peak version that exists (even if it is official). Finished in a decision board where you can enjoy the results of the “More” session at once.

●カッティング前の大元マスターが奇跡の新発掘
そんな本作の正体とは、衝撃の最高音質シリーズ“FLAT TRANSFER MASTER”の『モア』。このシリーズは欧州のある国で新発掘されたマスター・テープで、当店の独自ルートでもたらされたものです。その中実は、驚きの大元。商品LPの起こしでもなければ、カッティング原盤でもない。一度も物理的な溝に変換されていない、劣化ゼロのマスター・テープだったのです。しかも、完成品。流出モノにありがちなデモやラフミックスの類ではなく、ミックスダウンもマスタリングも完璧に仕上がっている。あくまで推測ですが、恐らくプレスのために各国に配布されたマスターテープの１つだったのではないでしょうか。馴染み抜いた名盤でありながら、未知なるマスター・サウンドで描かれる衝撃作だったのです。
“FLAT TRANSFER MASTER”はシリーズ化され、『ウマグマ（のライヴDISC）』『原子心母』『ザ・ウォール』といった数々の名盤たちを最高峰サウンドで伝えてくれた。本作は、その『モア』篇というわけなのです。

●小鳥の存在感まで表現されている衝撃の『モア』
そんな本作最大のポイントは、当然サウンド。第一弾であった『ウマグマ（ライヴDISC）』も衝撃でしたが、あくまでもライヴアルバムでした。しかし、本作はスタジオ作品。そのアップグレードぶりはさらに鮮烈なのです。何よりも素晴らしいのは、その鮮度。初期PINK FLOYDの諸作は1987年の初CD化の時点でマスターが劣化。90年代のリマスター盤でもデジタル加工で劣化を誤魔化しているだけであり、アルバムが制作された当時のサウンドは失われたと考えられていました。しかし、新発掘の“FLAT TRANSFER MASTER”には、その「劣化前の音」が残されていた。本作は、何のイコライジングもリミッターもない真なるマスター・サウンドを永久保存したプレスCDなのです。
実際、そのサウンドの機微は、これまで体験したことがないもの。もう、「Cirrus Minor」イントロのさえずりからしてまったく違う。これまでのCDは「小鳥が鳴いてる」程度でしたが、本作は「小鳥のノドが震えてる」感覚。鳴き声に伴って震える羽毛の振動や、細かく首を振ることで微妙に変わる鳴き声のニュアンスまで感じ取れるのです。
ＳＥがそれだけ詳細となれば、演奏音の違いはさらに鮮やか。「The Nile Song」で唸りを上げるギターは弦の振動まで感じ取れ、「Crying Song」のパーカッションはほんのささやかなエフェクトの揺れまで克明。もちろん、そうしたディテール・アップは単に細かいという以上の効果がある。これまでのCDはさまざまな音が重なっていく度に「演奏の平板」が層のように積み上がっていく感じでしたが、本作は「板」ではなく、１音１音の「糸」のように感じられる。それが縦横無尽に曲という布を織り上げ、音世界を３次元的に感じる。単にオーディオ的に良い音というだけでなく、その向こう側にあるはずの「楽器の振動」や「演奏者の手指」の存在感まで透ける現実感が宿っているのです。
そんなアルバム本編だけでも感無量ですが、本作はさらに美味しいボーナス・トラックも追加収録。『モア』のアウトテイクである４テイクも楽しめます。こちらは流出“FLAT TRANSFER MASTER”ではありませんが、それでも（公式を含めても）現存する最高峰バージョンで収録。『モア』セッションの成果を一挙に楽しめる決定盤に仕上げました。
