Floyd’s first visit to Japan movement that was blown away by the collector world last year. Perhaps in the aftermath, the finest master was newly excavated by his own route even after his second visit to Japan. Permanent storage press 2CD suitable for celebrating the 50th anniversary is decided to be permanently stored.
It is “March 10, 1972: Kyoto Prefectural Gymnasium” that is imbued with such a work. It’s a legendary audience recording. Floyd’s return to Japan, which was realized in just seven months, is a major event for the history of Japanese Western music that is comparable to his first visit to Japan. Even in our shop, we have archived with many treasures. First, let’s organize the collection while looking back on the schedule.

Above, all 6 performances. Records of all performances have been excavated, and Kyoto performances are no exception. However, there is only one record for this show. Therefore, it is not possible to expect a difference in recording time or complementation with another recording, and upgrades have been repeated due to differences in genes and routes. And this work is at the forefront of that trend. It is the highest peak update board that will be “this is the best” in the milestone year of the 50th anniversary.
In fact, this new master has the same recording as before, and the unrecorded encore (probably “Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun” or “Atom Heart Mother”) is also the same. However, the sound that depicts it is exceptionally wonderful. Speaking of the best version of the past, it is “KYOTO 1972 (Sigma 92)”, but when compared, the silent part is clear and the outline is clear and vivid. Roger’s singing voice is sharp from the start, and the hall sound that spreads slightly from there is colorful but transparent. The thick sound does not change, but only the turbidity contained in it seems to have come off. To put it in the extreme, the traditional master is “Doburoku” and this work is “Sake”. It is the clearness of such brilliance.
Moreover, surprisingly, the unnaturalness that was raised by digital mastering is not completely. It is a master brought from overseas core collectors by its own route, but it is natural anyway. Even in “KYOTO 1972”, it was the 1st Gene Master, and probably it is not the difference in Gene, but the difference in sound quality due to the difference in the route. Even if I knew it in theory, the sound of brilliance that I couldn’t understand was flowing from my ears. After all, there is no choice but to express it as “another class”.

There is no need to repeat words about the show drawn by that sound. It is a Japanese performance of “Crisis” that was in the unreleased stage, and the illusion that has been said to be due to touching Kyoto culture is unique. That unique mood spreads more vividly and clearly. It’s such an upgrade album. A new excavation master offered to celebrate Japan’s 50th anniversary. そんな本作に吹き込まれているのは「1972年３月10日：京都府立体育館」。その伝説的オーディエンス録音です。わずか７ヶ月で実現したフロイドの再来日は、日本洋楽史にとって初来日にも負けない一大事件。当店でも、数々の秘宝でアーカイヴして参りました。まずは、その日程を振り返りつつ、コレクションも整理してみましょう。

以上、全６公演。全公演の記録が発掘されており、京都公演も例外ではありません。ただし、このショウの記録は１本のみ。そのため、録音時間の差異や別録音での補完は望めず、ジェネ違い・経路違いによってアップグレードが繰り返されてきました。そして、本作はその流れの最先端。50周年という節目の年に「これぞベスト」となる最高峰更新盤なのです。
実際、今回の新マスターも従来と同じ録音でしてアンコール（恐らく「Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun」か「Atom Heart Mother」）の未収録も同じ。しかし、それを描くサウンドは別物級に素晴らしい。従来のベスト・バージョンと言えば『KYOTO 1972（Sigma 92）』となるわけですが、比較すると無音部はサッと晴れ渡り、輪郭もクッキリと鮮やか。ロジャーの歌声も立ち上がりから鋭く、そこからほんのり広がるホール鳴りは色鮮やかながらも透明感が宿る。厚めの鳴りは変わらないものの、そこに含まれていた濁りだけがスーッと抜けた感じ。極端に言えば、従来マスターが「どぶろく」で、本作は「清酒」。そんな輝きのクリアさなのです。
しかも、驚くべき事にデジタル・マスタリングで引き上げたような不自然さがまるでない。独自ルートで海外のコア・コレクターからもたらされたマスターなのですが、とにかくナチュラル。『KYOTO 1972』にしても1stジェネ・マスターだったわけですし、恐らくはジェネ違いではなく、経路違いによる音質差なのでしょう。理屈でそうと分かっていても、どうにも納得できない輝きのサウンドが耳から流れ込んでくる。やはり「別物級」と表現するしかないのです。

そのサウンドで描かれるショウについては言葉を重ねる必要もないでしょう。未発表段階だった『危機』の日本演奏であり、京都文化に触れたせいとも言われてきた幻想感も唯一無二です。あの独特なムードがより鮮やかに、よりクリアに広がる。そんなアップグレード・アルバムなのです。50周年の日本を祝福するように提供された新発掘マスター。その輝きを永久に残すプレス２CDで存分にご体験ください。
