A new excavation master series of “Mike B” that is shaking the collector world. Two types of original cassettes of PINK FLOYD, which is the latest work, will be released at the same time.
Engraved on the second installment of this work is “Performance at Wembley on November 15, 1974”. It is a legendary audience recording that should be called a symbol of the “British Winter Tour”. 1974 is a time when stages that grow new songs through trial and error are extremely popular, but there are many live albums with similar titles despite the limited number. Even in the sense of grasping the sound source circumstances around that, let’s first look at the overview of the activities at that time in the schedule.

Although this work is also “November 15th (second day)”, it is not a chopped sound board, but a full audience recording called “Recorder 3”. This recording itself has been known since the 90’s on the Great Dane label, etc., and is a big classic that has been loved as our shop’s “WEMBLEY 1974 2ND NIGHT: UNPROCESSED MASTER”, but in fact it was a work by “Mike B”. . This time, the Omoto cassette that reveals the fact is a miracle excavation. This work is directly digitized.
[Legendary recording that achieved another class upgrade] And the shocking thing is the sound, and the freshness of the original cassette is like another class. Please do not misunderstand, but this recording has long been famous for its superb sound. As you know if you have experienced even one of the existing groups, the direct feeling with a very thick core and zero sense of distance is overwhelming, and it has been regarded as the strongest masterpiece of the 1974 masterpiece. Nevertheless, this work upgrades like something else.“The most striking thing is the beauty of the sound.” The vintage feeling of the conventional master is quickly wiped away, silence draws the darkness of the abyss, and the outline that emerges from it stands out clearly. Moreover, the ringing does not feel the slightest cloudiness, and it is a glossy terra terra. The three-dimensional effect of each sound has also been greatly improved, and it is a sound that has both depth and brilliance like a black pearl. “Even so, it’s wonderful.” It is an upgraded sound with too beautiful brilliance. “Shine On You Crazy Diamond” starts from the same curly sound as the conventional master, so there is no doubt that it is a familiar traditional recording, but the listening response is completely different. That famous recording was the work of “Mike B”, the original cassette is so amazing (By the way, Paul & Linda’s Mr. and Mrs. McCartney also came to see this show, and after the performance “Mike B” (It is also a great episode.) ……と、このようになっています。「11月15日／16日」はサウンドボードが残され、先日リリースされた『狂気』の50周年ボックスにも採用されました。本作もその「11月15日（２日目）」ではありますが、細切れサウンドボードではなく、通称「Recorder 3」と呼ばれるフルのオーディエンス録音です。この録音自体も90年代の昔からGreat Daneレーベル盤などで知られ、当店の『WEMBLEY 1974 2ND NIGHT: UNPROCESSED MASTER』としても愛されてきた大定番なのですが、実は「Mike B」による作品だった。今回、その事実を明かす大元カセットが奇跡の発掘。ダイレクトにデジタル化されたのが本作なのです。
【別物級アップグレードを果たした伝説録音】
そして、衝撃なのはそのサウンドでして、大元カセットの鮮度はまるで別物級なのです。誤解しないで頂きたいのですが、この録音は古くから極上サウンドで有名。既発群を１本でも体験された方ならご存知と思いますが、極太な芯も距離感ゼロなダイレクト感も圧倒的で、以前から1974年最高傑作の最有力と目されてきました。それにも関わらず、本作は別物のようにアップグレードしている。
何よりも鮮烈なのは鳴りの美しさ。従来マスターのヴィンテージ感がサッと拭い去られ、無音は深淵の闇を描きだし、そこから浮き立つ輪郭はくっきりと際立っている。しかも、その鳴りには僅かな曇りも感じられず、艶っ艶のテラッテラ。１音１音の立体感も格段に向上しており、まるで黒真珠のような深みと輝きを併せ持ったサウンドなのです。
【FLOYDサウンドの真価を伝える空間録音の最高峰】
その聴き応えは、前述のサウンドボードを超えていると言ってもいい。もちろん、サウンドボードも公式化されるほど極上ではあるわけですが、ライン特有の超タイト感は広がりに欠けてもいる。その点、本作は公式サウンドボードと同等の力強さと美しさを誇りつつ、ワイドな空間感覚も兼ね備えているのです。そして、これこそがFLOYDサウンドの真骨頂。そもそも彼らはコンサートの会場音響をプログレスさせてきたバンドであり、そのライヴ・サウンドは現場録音でこそ真価を発揮する。本作は、その最高峰盤でもあるわけです。
それにしても素晴らしい。美しすぎる輝きのアップグレード・サウンドです。従来マスターと同じくキュル音から「Shine On You Crazy Diamond」がスタートするのでお馴染みの伝統録音なのは間違いないものの、聴き応えはまったくの別物。あの名録音が「Mike B」の作品だったとは、その大元カセットがここまでスゴいとは（ちなみに、このショウはポール＆リンダのマッカートニー夫妻も観に来ており、終演後には「Mike B」と感想を語り合ったそう。それも凄いエピソードです）。オフィシャル収録も行われた本気の名演を、オフィシャル以上の美音で伝える超名盤。その輝きを永久に残すプレス２CDで、ここに堂々の誕生です。
