From Paul’s “GOT BACK” tour, the press board release has just finally been realized at Boston’s best audience “BOSTON 2022 2ND NIGHT” in June, but even in the process of May, it is very much even if it does not reach the press board CD. High-level audience recordings are here.
Introducing this time is the LA performance on May 13th. A live concert between Auckland and Winston Salem that has been released by the UXBRIDGE label.
Even when Boston, which should be called the definitive edition in June, was just released on the press, it was a CD-R, but it was only possible to enjoy the honor of the release, and the sound pressure was powerful from the opening.
Above all, the balance of Paul’s singing voice is quite on, and is this recording state alone the best in May? I can think of it.

Of course, there is a reason why it was released on CD-R this time, and the sound quality is at the highest level without any price, but noise such as poor connection from around “Come On To Me” to the right channel. It entered intermittently. If it weren’t for that, it would be really missed because the sound quality was in the press class.
However, it is certain that the sound quality is too wasteful to forgo the release. That’s where the release from the UXBRIDGE label came together.

Anyway, Paul’s singing voice is close, and you can clearly see how the engine is fully open from “Junior’s Farm” at the beginning of the live. The closeness of his singing voice stands out so much.
However, it is a fact that the early part of the “GOT BACK” tour was a rehabilitation aspect of Paul’s return to the stage in the process of May because it was a live activity after a long time.
For example, in “WINSTON-SALEM 2022”, there was a happening that he was ahead of the singing of “Junior’s Farm”, but here in LA, Paul makes a more daring mistake.
At the beginning of the piano corner, “Let’Em In”, after Paul finished the first, he skipped the usual marching drum part and started singing the chorus. Of course, the band including the drum ave does not get confused, and it is wonderful because it immediately stops the marching drum and matches it to the pole.
However, when I watched the YouTube video on the day, the screen on the stage still showed the image of the marching band that normally develops, so it was a very dangerous happening that a certain gap had occurred.
Of course, the appeal of this sound source is that it will entertain you with a wonderfully close sound image even to such a chilling happening. On the contrary, an audience album where you can hear a very rare happening on this tour. This is interesting.

ポールの「GOT BACK」ツアーからは6月のボストンの極上オーディエンス「BOSTON 2022 2ND NIGHT」にて遂にプレス盤リリースが実現したばかりですが、5月の行程でもプレス盤CDにまで及ばなくとも非常にレベルの高いオーディエンス録音が登場しています。
今回ご紹介いたしますは5月13日のLA公演。ちょうどこれまでUXBRIDGEレーベルがリリースしてきたオークランドとウインストン・セーラムの間に属するライブ。
既に6月の決定版とも呼ぶべきボストンがプレスで出されたばかりというタイミングでもCD-Rながらリリースの栄誉にあずかるだけのことはあり、オープニングからド迫力の音圧。
中でもポールの歌声のバランスは相当にオンで、この録音状態だけでも5月のベストでは？と思えるほど。

もちろん今回CD-Rにてリリースとなったのには当然ながら理由がありまして、音質は掛け値なしに極上レベルなのですが、「Come On To Me」辺りから右チャンネルに接続不良のようなノイズが断続的に入ってしまうのでした。それさえなければ余裕でプレス・クラスの音質だっただけに、本当に惜しまれます。
だからといってリリースを見送るのはあまりにももったいないレベルの音質であるのも確か。そこでUXBRIDGEレーベルからのリリースと相成りました。

とにかくポールの歌声が近く、ライブ序盤の「Junior’s Farm」からエンジン全開となる様子がはっきりと伝わってくる。それほど彼の歌声の近さが際立っているのです。
とはいえ「GOT BACK」ツアー序盤は久々のライブ活動ということもあって5月の行程ではポールのステージ復帰のリハビリ的な様相を呈していたのも事実。
例えば「WINSTON-SALEM 2022」では彼が「Junior’s Farm」の歌い出しを先走ってしまうというハプニングが起きましたが、ここLAではもっと豪快なミスをポールが犯してしまう。
ピアノ・コーナーの幕開けとなる「Let ‘Em In」において、ポールが一番を終えた後でいつものマーチング・ドラムのパートをすっ飛ばしてコーラスを歌い出してしまったのです。もちろんドラムのエイブを始めとしたバンドは混乱に陥ることもなく、すかさずマーチング・ドラムを止めてポールに合わせるのだからお見事。
しかし当日のYouTube動画を見るとステージ上のスクリーンは通常展開となるマーチング・バンドの映像が映し出されたままでしたので、ある種のギャップが生じてしまったというなかなか危ういハプニングであった訳です。
もちろん、そんなヒヤリとさせるハプニングまで素晴らしく近い音像で楽しませてくれるのが今回の音源の魅力。それどころか今回のツアーにおいても非常に珍しいハプニングが聞けるオーディエンス・アルバム。これは面白いです。
