[Complete version of the super famous sound board]

This work is the ultimate live album. Its true identity is the superb stereo sound board of “April 1, 1986 Kansas City performance”. It’s the complete board. This show is the most famous in the Jake era. In addition to being broadcast on the radio on the famous program “KING BISCUIT FLOWER HOUR”, it is also a concert that became his official video work “THE ULTIMATE OZZY”. However, the FBFH broadcast was an excerpt of about 50 minutes, and the official video was halfway mixed with PV of “Shot In The Dark”, “Lightning Strikes” and “The Ultimate Sin” (partly “Bark At The Moon”). PV was also used). After that, both the long version and the excavated version of KBFH were excavated, but there is still no “Secret Loser” or drum solo. While boasting the No. 1 quality and performance even in the Jake era, the ultimate form did not exist in a regrettable place.
This work was born to heal such a long-standing dryness. Based on KBFH’s pre-broadcast master, which is the longest and highest quality of many formats, the missing “Secret Loser” and drum solo are complemented by the official stereo sound board of “THE ULTIMATE OZZY”. Finally, the ultimate superb soundboard album that allows you to enjoy the complete full show is born.
In fact, the quality of this work is the ultimate. As you can see from the fact that the official sound board is used as a complement rather than a base, the pre-FM master that occupies most of it is a perfect official class. Even before the broadcast, it is not an analog broadcast master, but a digital master that has appeared in recent years. There is no DJ on the master of the broadcast, and there is no deterioration. Of course, we also performed the latest mastering for matching with the official sound board, and even subtle sound nuances are aligned with the official.

[Bonus to complete “Sin and Punishment” SBD]

The complete version of Kansas City alone is the ultimate, but this work has achieved even higher heights. As a bonus, we also added another super-best sound board of another big standard sound board “August 16, 1986 Donington performance”. As a matter of fact, there are only two soundboards in the “Sin and Punishment” era, the main Kansas City performance and the Donington performance. This work is one that can complete the highest peak version in history at once.
This sound board is also a big classic among the big classics. There are many existing ones, but this work is the highest peak. It is based on an unused broadcast master, and has been further refined by meticulous mastering. The original sound was quite wild, but in this work it was adjusted to a neat sound close to the main Kansas City SBD. Not only is it easier to listen to, but it also has a unified finish even if you listen to it through the main story, which is a completely official standard.

This is the outline of the last world tour in the Jake era. The main Kansas City performance is the third performance of “North America # 1” that took place immediately after the release of “Sin and Punishment”. It’s quite early, but the point is that the “UK” tour was held before that. While the ensemble is well done, I don’t get tired of putting in one break. Moreover, “Sin and Punishment” is in the top 10 in the United States for Ozzy since “PARANOID”. His solo activities, which had been on the rise, are enthusiastic about winning the US title (although it was “NO MORE TEARS” that actually reached its peak). And because it’s the beginning of the tour, Ozzy is in great shape. The bonus Donington performance feels rough, but the main story Kansas City is not dangerous and the voice grows beautifully. Run through the full show with a wonderful (too much?) Singing voice.
Of course, the other protagonist, Jake, is also in great shape. Until “BARK AT THE MOON Tour”, the bold interpretation of Randy Rhoad’s song was the highlight, and the pole position was “I Don’t Know”, but this tour opened “Bark At The Moon”, which should be the original. 【超有名サウンドボードを究めた完全版】

本作はまさしく究極のライヴアルバム。その正体は「1986年４月１日カンザスシティ公演」の超極上ステレオ・サウンドボード。その完全盤なのです。このショウはジェイク時代でもっとも有名。名物番組“KING BISCUIT FLOWER HOUR”でラジオ放送された他、オフィシャルの映像作品『THE ULTIMATE OZZY』ともなったコンサートです。しかし、FBFH放送は約50分の抜粋でしたし、オフィシャル映像は「Shot In The Dark」「Lightning Strikes」「The Ultimate Sin」のPVを混ぜ込んだ中途半端なもの（一部「Bark At The Moon」のPVも使用されていました）。その後、KBFHの長尺版も発掘版も発掘されたものの、それでも「Secret Loser」やドラムソロがない。ジェイク時代でもNo.1となるクオリティと演奏を誇りつつ、何とも惜しいところで究極形が存在しなかったのです。
そんな長年の乾きを癒すために誕生したのが本作です。数々のフォーマットの中でもっとも長く、最高峰クオリティであるKBFHのプレ放送マスターをベースにしつつ、そこに欠けていた「Secret Loser」とドラムソロを『THE ULTIMATE OZZY』の公式ステレオ・サウンドボードで補完。遂にフルショウ完全形を味わえる究極の超極上サウンドボード・アルバムが誕生したのです。
実際、本作のクオリティは究極。公式サウンドボードが土台ではなく補完に使われている事からもお察しいただけると思いますが、大部分を占めるプレFMマスターは完全無欠のオフィシャル級。放送前とは言ってもアナログの放送原盤起こしではなく、近年になって登場したデジタル・マスター。放送原盤のDJも入っておらず、劣化もゼロ。もちろん、公式サウンドボードとのマッチングのために最新マスタリングも施し、微妙なサウンド・ニュアンスまでオフィシャルと揃えました。

【『罪と罰』SBDをコンプリートできるボーナス】

そんなカンザス・シティの完全版だけでも究極ですが、本作では更に高みを実現しています。ボーナスとして、もう１つの大定番サウンドボード「1986年８月16日ドニントン公演」の超極上サウンドボードも追加収録したのです。実のところ、『罪と罰』時代のサウンドボードと言えば、本編カンザス・シティ公演とドニントン公演の２つだけ。本作は、その史上最高峰バージョンを一気にコンプリートできる１本なのです。
このサウンドボードもまた、大定番中の大定番。数々の既発が存在しておりますが、本作はその最高峰。未使用の放送原盤を元としており、さらに細心マスタリングで磨き込まれている。原音ではかなりワイルドなサウンドだったのですが、本作では本編カンザス・シティSBDに近い端正なサウンドに調整。一層聴きやすくなっているだけでなく、完全オフィシャル基準な本編と通して聴いても統一感のある仕上がりになってます。

【究極クオリティに相応しい究極のショウ】
そんなクオリティで描かれるのは、オジーのキャリアでも独特の輝きを放ったジェイク時代の頂点。良い機会ですので、“THE ULTIMATE SIN Tour”の全体像からポジションを確認しておきましょう。

これがジェイク時代最後のワールドツアー概要。メインのカンザス・シティ公演は『罪と罰』発売直後に行われた「北米#1」３公演目にあたります。かなり初期ではありますが、その前に「英国」ツアーが行われているのがポイント。しっかりとアンサンブルがこなれつつ、ワンブレイク入れて疲れもない。しかも、『罪と罰』はオジーにとって『PARANOID』以来となる全米トップ10入り。右肩上がりだったソロ活動も頂点を迎えようという全米制覇への意欲に燃えているのです（実際にピークを迎えたのは『NO MORE TEARS』でしたが）。そして、ツアー初期だからこそオジーも絶好調。ボーナスのドニントン公演では荒さも感じますが、本編カンザス・シティは危なげなく声も綺麗に伸びる。素晴らしい（すぎる？）歌声でフルショウを駆け抜けるのです。
もちろん、もう１人の主役ジェイクも絶好調。“BARK AT THE MOON Tour”まではランディ・ローズ曲の大胆な解釈が聴きどころでポールポジションも「I Don’t Know」でしたが、このツアーでは本来あるべき「Bark At The Moon」がオープニング。しかも、『罪と罰』の新曲も大量投入されているのです。ここでその内容も整理しておきましょう。

……と、このようになっています。オジーのライヴは定番曲が多めで新曲は限られているのが常ですが、“THE ULTIMATE SIN Tour”は例外。オフィシャルではPVだった「Shot In The Dark」「The Ultimate Sin」も本生ライヴですし、このツアーだけの限定曲もたっぷり。ここまで新曲をフィーチュアしたのは、デビュー時と“THE ULTIMATE SIN Tour”だけです。そして、単なるギタリストから完全に音楽監督となったジェイクの技はキレにキレ、MOTLEY CRUEにも愛された故ランディ・カスティロのグルーヴも芳醇。オジーのキャリアでも最も華麗でシャープだった“THE ULTIMATE SIN Tour”の究極形が完全オフィシャル・クオリティで味わえるのです。

The main press 2CD is the ultimate version of the Jake E. Lee era. It is the only full soundboard of “THE ULTIMATE SIN Tour”, and it is an ultimate live album that is comparable to his official work “The Ultimate Sin” itself. At the same time, the Donington performance was also recorded as a bonus, so it was also a “complete board of the 1986 sound board”. As a bonus, we have prepared one “Pro Shot Complete Edition”.
There are two types of images recorded in this work. One is the official work “THE ULTIMATE OZZY” which contains the same “April 1, 1986 Kansas City performance” as the main press 2CD. And it seems that he will appear on the TV program “THE TUBE” known as “Another 1986 Pro Shot”. Let’s introduce each one individually.

[Official video: THE ULTIMATE OZZY] The main part of this work is the well-known official pro shot “THE ULTIMATE OZZY”. The official video that has been familiar since that time has been precisely reproduced from the best master. Of course, since the original is an official work, the video and audio are completely official quality. Even if you look at the contents now … No, it’s wonderful now. Ozzy shining with glittering blonde hair, Jake spinning around in a medieval ornamental coat, Phil Soussan with sharp and youthful action, Randy Castillo slowly descending while emitting lights. Speaking of the Jake era, professional shots from the “barking on the moon” era, such as the 1983 US Festival and the 1984 Salt Lake City, are standard, but they are completely different and colorful shows. If you think about it, in 1986, Birmingham’s junior JUDAS PRIEST also performed “FUEL FOR LIFE Tour” in Art Deco costumes, but this work also has a unique feeling. It is a “scene only in 1986” that cannot be done a year ago or a year later.
The promo clip that explodes the mood is also delicious. As mentioned in the explanation of the main press 2CD, “THE ULTIMATE OZZY” is not a complete live work, “Shot In The Dark” and “The Ultimate Sin” are replaced with clips, and “Lightning Strikes” is also inserted. Image images are also covered in “Bark At The Moon” and “Mr. Crowley”. The order of the songs is so messy that it has been said for many years, “Why don’t you unify with live performances …”, but 35 years later, the drama style that is stale to the eyes is a scent of the times. In particular, the clip of “Shot In The Dark” was not reprinted for some reason even in the official box “MEMOIRS OF A MADMAN” (if I forgot !?), so it is now a valuable official video.

[THE TUBE ’86] Following such an official video is the TV program “THE TUBE”. Even though it’s a TV, it’s not a mime, but a live performance with the audience in the studio inside the station, and they will perform three songs, “Shot In The Dark,” “The Ultimate Sin,” and “Never Know Why.”
Although this is also a classic professional shot and can be seen on video sites, the quality of this work is completely different. Details are not given, but the image quality is too vivid for an air check, and there is not even one white line noise. Even if you continue to watch “THE ULTIMATE OZZY”, which is a genuine official video, it is the best quality.
Voice is even more important. As a matter of fact, a high-quality version has been uploaded on a major video site now, but even though the video is a good match with this work, the audio is different. This work is a sharp and vivid highest peak sound, which is completely different from the video site version that is moco-moco. It’s a rough and raw mix to call it “official”, but it’s also delicious for soundboard enthusiasts. A singing voice that makes you feel like Ozzy is in front of you, a mix that doesn’t care if the vocal effects are out of sync, and a performance that gives you the feeling of being played there. Such a feeling of real life is poured directly into the brain.

Genuine official video and TV appearance with a feeling of being exposed at that time. It’s just two of the best pro shots, but it also makes sense to be coupled. Only these two types of professional shots in the “Sin and Punishment” era are known, and you can collect the highest peak version with one. The main press 2CD was the top complete of the sound board, but this work is the top complete of the pro shot. A super-luxury set that allows you to get the pinnacle record of the Jake era at once. そんな本作に収録された映像は２種。１つは、本編プレス２CDと同じ「1986年４月１日カンザス・シティ公演」を収めた公式作品『THE ULTIMATE OZZY』。そして、”もう１つの86年プロショット”として知られるテレビ番組“THE TUBE”出演の模様です。それぞれ個別にご紹介していきましょう。

【公式映像：THE ULTIMATE OZZY】
本作のメインとなるのは、言わずと知れたオフィシャル・プロショット『THE ULTIMATE OZZY』。当時からお馴染みの公式映像をベスト・マスターから精緻に復刻しました。もちろん元が公式作品ですから、映像も音声も完全なオフィシャル・クオリティ。その内容は今観ても……いえ、今だからこそ素晴らしい。ブロンドにギラギラのラメで輝くオジー、中世風の飾り付きコートでクルクルと回るジェイク、キビキビと若々しいアクションのフィル・スーザン、ライトを発しながらじっくりと降りてくるランディ・カスティロ……。ジェイク時代と言えば、1983年USフェスティバルや1984年ソルトレイク・シティといった『月に吠える』時代のプロショットも定番ですが、それらとはまったく異なる華やかでカラフルなショウ。思えば、同じ1986年にはバーミンガムの後輩JUDAS PRIESTもアールデコ調の衣装で“FUEL FOR LIFE Tour”を行っていましたが、本作にもあの独特な感覚が宿っている。この１年前でも、１年後でもありえない「1986年だからこその光景」なのです。
そのムードが炸裂するプロモ・クリップも美味しい。本編プレス２CDの解説でも触れましたが、『THE ULTIMATE OZZY』は完全なライヴ作品ではなく、「Shot In The Dark」「The Ultimate Sin」がクリップに差し替えられ、「Lightning Strikes」も挿入。「Bark At The Moon」「Mr. Crowley」でもイメージ映像が被せられています。曲順もムチャクチャなだけに長年「なぜライヴで統一しない……」と言われ続けてきたわけですが、35年を経た現在の眼には陳腐なドラマ仕立ても時代の薫り。特に「Shot In The Dark」のクリップは公式ボックス『MEMOIRS OF A MADMAN』でもなぜか復刻されなかった（もしや忘れた!?）だけに、今や貴重なオフィシャル映像なのです。

【THE TUBE ’86】
そんなオフィシャル映像に続くのは、テレビ番組“THE TUBE”。テレビとは言ってもマイムではなく、局内スタジオに観客を入れてのライヴ演奏で「Shot In The Dark」「The Ultimate Sin」「Never Know Why」の３曲を披露します。
これまた定番プロショットで動画サイトでも観られる映像ではありますが、本作のクオリティはまったくの別物。詳細は伝わっていませんが、エアチェックにしては画質が鮮やかすぎ、白線ノイズ１本さえない。正真正銘のオフィシャル映像である『THE ULTIMATE OZZY』と続けて観てもまったく劣らない極上クオリティです。
さらにポイントなのが音声。実のところ、現在では某大手動画サイトでも高画質版がアップされているのですが、映像は本作と良い勝負ではあっても、音声は段違い。モコモコした動画サイト版とはまったく異なり、本作はシャープで鮮やかな最高峰サウンドなのです。た「オフィシャル級」と呼ぶには荒っぽく生々しいミックスですが、それもサウンドボード・マニアには美味しい。目の前にオジーがいるような歌声、ヴォーカル・エフェクトがズレてもお構いなしのミックス、今そこで弾き出されている感丸出しの演奏……。そんな本生感が脳みそド直結で流し込まれるのです。

正真正銘のオフィシャル映像と、当時感丸出しのテレビ出演。まさに最高のプロショット２種ですが、カップリングされていることにも意味がある。『罪と罰』時代のプロショットはこの２種しか知られておらず、その最高峰版を１枚でコレクトできる。本編プレス２CDはサウンドボードの頂点コンプリートだったわけですが、本作はプロショットの頂点コンプリートなわけです。ジェイク時代の頂点記録を一挙に手にできる超豪華セット。どうぞ、この機会にたっぷりとご堪能ください！
