2002年の東京行程はすべて代々木で行われており、この会場の音響のせいもあってオーディエンス録音は大なり小なりエコーと音像の距離感を感じさせる状態が多い。先の「TOKYO 2002 2ND NIGHT」が正にそのような状態でありながら、非常にマイルドな聞き心地によって好評を博したのです。今回キニーが提供してくれた独自音源もまた代々木特有の距離感とエコー感を伴っているのですが、「TOKYO 2002～」と比べるとより音像が近い。特にリアムやノエルのボーカルの輪郭がはっきりしており、演奏も含めてエコーで音像がぼやけてないのが大きなポイント。
この日はSYLPHレーベルから「THAT SHINES ON」タイトルがリアルタイムにリリースされていましたが、そこに使われたオーディエンス録音と比べてもエコー感が少なく、先のようなボーカルの輪郭のシャープさなど、聞きやすさは今回の音源の方が圧倒的に上かと。それでいて周囲の盛り上がりを過度に捉えてしまうようなこともなく、またノイズが入るようなトラブルもなく、全体を通したクリアーさがいよいよ聞きやすい。

それに2002年の来日公演はCD-Rによるスピード・リリースが隆盛を極めていた時代ですので、プレスCDのアイテムというのが一切存在しなかった。後にプロショット映像が配布された代々木最終日のサウンドボード録音がようやく昨年になってMOONCHILDから「CHAMPAGNE GOLD」プレスCDとしてリリースされたのは記憶に新しいところですが、オーディエンス録音になるとプレスCDのアイテムが一切存在しなかった。
それに代々木最終日のサウンドボードはミキシング・バランスに癖があったことはよく知られるところで、当日のステージから聞こえた音を捉えてくれたオーディエンス録音の価値が色褪せていないのです。早いものであの来日からも20年近い歳月が経過（！）しましたが、ようやく良質オーディエンスをプレスCDで収録した画期的なリリースが実現します。
リリースに際してはライブ開始直後に顕著な、会場からの出音の薄い調子をイコライズにて緩和させています。何しろツアー初日ですのでこうした現象は致し方ないのですが、そこを過剰にならないレベルで補正しました。

この日は2002年来日公演における初日のステージということもあり、その慎重な演奏ぶりが今聞くと非常に新鮮に映ります。このツアーのベストは大阪二日目（10月3日）だと言われていますが、そこでのくつろいだ歌いっぷりと比べ、むしろ丁寧にリアムが歌おうとしているのがイイ。また当時から報じられていたように、この日はモニターのトラブルからハウリングが生じ、さらにはリアムのマイクを交換する事態にまで発展していましたが、だからこそ演奏とズレないよう丁寧に歌おうとしていたのかもしれません。
「TOKYO 2002 2ND NIGHT」のリリース時にも触れたように、ノエルが歌う「She’s Electric」は彼が飽きたとの理由から来日公演では代々木最初の二日間だけの披露となってしまいました。そんな短命な扱いの中では初日の方が出来は上だと思われます。しかしノエルも初日らしいずっこけ場面があり、アンコールの「Force Of Nature」の打ち込みリズムが始まると毎回おなじみのカウントを始めるもののタイミングを逃してしまい、もう一度カウントし直すという姿が微笑ましい。この曲が終わった後に絶妙のタイミングで入る「ロックンロール！」という掛け声がまた何とも…笑
そして再びリアムが登場しての終盤二曲、まるで初日のステージをやり遂げた喜びを表したかのような彼のハイテンションな歌いっぷりが改めて聞くと圧巻。
確かに「まるでサウンドボード」と称されるような音像のオーディエンス録音ではありませんが、そこはキニー、聞き心地が抜群な音源を提供してくれました。そして何よりも2002年来日公演オーディエンス史上初のプレスCDリリースにて、もはや懐かしさすら感じさせる（ライブ終演後にBGMとして流される「Wonderwall」とお帰りのアナウンスまで収録）来日公演の初日を心ゆくまでお楽しみください。

Especially in 2002, when the label continued to release actively, it also released two performances in Osaka for Oasis. However, since the video of the last day of Yoyogi appeared immediately after that, it is undeniable that these impressions have faded even in 2002.

Currently, the video of the second day in Osaka can be easily seen thanks to the enthusiast uploading it on YouTube, but the one on the first day has not appeared. At that time, ROZY PROJECT released such a rare video on VHS (the era of DVD had already begun, but the demand for VHS was still high), but this VHS was converted to DVD and uploaded on the net. オアシス2002年来日公演のキニー・マスターの限定プレスCDリリースを記念し、初回納品分にはやはり2002年来日公演の貴重映像が付属します。このツアーの映像と言えば、まずは代々木最終日のプロショットが挙げられることでしょう。しかし、その映像の登場以前にオーディエンスショットによる最速リリースで当時の模様を伝えていた映像が存在します。それをリリースしていたのは懐かしのROZY PROJECTというレーベル。
このレーベルは21世紀初頭の来日公演を捉えた高品位なオーディエンスショットで名を馳せていました。特に2002年は同レーベルが活発なリリースを続けた時期で、オアシスに関しても大阪二公演をリリースしてくれていたのです。とはいえ、その直後に代々木最終日の映像が登場したものだから、2002年当時ですらこれらの印象が薄らいでしまった感が否めません。

現在、大阪二日目の映像はYouTube上にマニアがアップロードしてくれたおかげで手軽に見られますが初日の方は登場していません。そんなレア映像は当時ROZY PROJECTがVHSにてリリース（既にDVDの時代が始まっていましたが、VHSの需要もまだまだ多かった時代です）されていましたが、このVHSをDVD化してネット上にアップロードしてくらたバージョンが今回のギフトの元。
大阪城ホールの二階席から敢行された撮影は思いのほかクローズアップが効いており、ステージ上の各メンバーの表情もばっちり。おまけにギャラガー兄弟だけでなく、例えばゲムがリードギターを弾く場面になると撮影者が気付いてアングルを変えてくれるのがお見事。

この大阪初日と言えば悪夢の福岡と名演の誉れ高き大阪二日目の間に挟まれて印象の薄い感が否めませんが、こうして映像で見ればショーが進むにつれてステージ上で変化が起きている様子が解って面白いのです。
リアム退場事件が起きた福岡でのこともあり、ステージ上のメンバーそれぞれが慎重な演奏に終始しており、当日集まった観客も大きな盛り上がりを見せつつもリアムの一挙一動を見守っていたと言われています。案の定リアムは「Hung In A Bad Place」の台詞「you got me!」を投げやりに発したかと思えば「Columbia」のエンディングにおける「カモーン」の連呼をまったく叫ばないなど、ショー序盤は本気になれてない感が伝わってくる。
ところが「Morning Glory」は盛り上がりの白熱ぶりと相まって素晴らしい演奏となり、リアムも客席を称える仕草を見せます。これでエンジン全開になるか？と思いきや、次の「Stop Crying Your Heart Out」の二番を歌い損じてしまい、気まずい空白が生まれてしまう。上手くいかないものですね。
こうしてショー前半は福岡の余韻を引きずったかのようでありましたが、「Live Forever」辺りからリアムもほぐれ始め、ノエルは自身の「Force Of Nature」での盛り上がりに対し、実に嬉しそうな表情を浮かべる場面が見事に捉えられています。そしてラスト二曲はバンドがエンジン全開で会場の盛り上がりも素晴らしい。
なるほど、この日があったからこそ翌日の名演が生まれたのだと再認識させくれると同時に、代々木最終日と違い白いシャツを着たリアムの姿が新鮮に映るレア映像だともいえるでしょう。今となってはなかなか見られない2002年来日公演の貴重オーディエンスショット映像をお見逃しなく！
