4月27-28日の2日間に亘って行われたこの公演は約6万人を動員し、まさにUKのビッグバンドに上り詰めた絶頂期の輝かしい記録でもあります。このメインロード公演で、オアシスにはまるきっかけとなったファンも多く、とにかく絶大なパワーに終始圧倒されること間違いなし。そして今回、満を持して今回SUPER SONICレーベルからリリースされたこのアイテムは、24BITリマスタリング＋チャプターを打ち直し、サウンドは一枚ベールを剥がしたようにクリアになりました。
このアイテムがあれば興奮の歴史的ギグが存分に楽しめるというわけで、OASISファンはもちろん、全ロックファンマストのすばらしい逸品に仕上がっております。

この日は何と言ってもリアムの調子が非常によく、演奏もかなりまとまった聞き応えのある内容。 冒頭のThe Swamp Songから大歓声が上がり、それに応えるかのようにリアムが曲中で「Manchester, Maine Road mad for it!!!」と叫びます。 もちろん地元だけあり全曲大合唱状態。 Hello-Some Might Say-Roll With Itの流れはこの時期らしく「突っ走る」という感じで、ホントにものすごい勢いです！ その勢いがMCにも随所に現れていて、Round Are Wayのあとのリアムのしゃべりも全くでたらめで意味不明。 前半と打って変わって、後半ではノエルのアコギを中心としたセット。 Whateverからの4曲はストリングス入りで、このアレンジで演奏されたのはこれが最初。 因みにこの日のCast No Shadowは会場に来ていたSTONE ROSESのジョン・スクワイアに捧げられてます。 また、Wonderwallはノエルが「メグに捧げる」と言い、リアムに冷やかされてたりしてます。 そして、I Am The Walrusが始まる前に何を思ったかノエルがD’Yer Wanna Be A Spaceman?をつま弾き、 リアムがほんの一瞬歌うという非常に珍しい場面も。 そのI Am The Walrusもブラスセクションやハーモニカも入ってかなり熱い！ そして、ラストはサッカーでおなじみのCum On Feel The Noize。 この曲のライブバージョンは、このメイン・ロード2日間と、1995年に「Later With Jools Holland」に出演した際に ノエルが歌ったものしかありません。途中マイクを投げ飛ばしてリアムが歌わなくなり、ノエルのコーラスだけが続いたあと演奏は終了。 ギターのフィードバックをさせつつ、最後に観客に「To the greatest fans in the world, from the greatest band in the world. Good night!」という言葉を残してステージを去っていきます。 非常にテンションの高い突っ走った演奏で、初期オアシスの総決算とも言うべきライブ!! その内容はとにかく一度是非、手に取って聴いてほしいアイテムです!!
