In commemoration of the band’s 10th anniversary, from 10 YEARS OF NOISE & CONFUSION TOUR, a monumental mini tour of the band held in 2001 at 6 performances in 3 cities of London, Manchester and Glasgow, at the hometown of the Gallagher brothers. バンド結成10周年を記念し、2001年にロンドン、マンチェスター、グラスゴーの3都市6公演で開催されたバンドの記念碑的なミニツアーとなる10 YEARS OF NOISE & CONFUSION TOURより、ギャラガー兄弟のホームタウンであるマンチェスター公演2日間を良好なオーディエンス録音で完全収録。
当時のバンドを取り巻く状況を振り返ってみると、オリジナルメンバーであるボーンヘッド、ギグジーの脱退を受け、新メンバーとしてゲム・アーチャー、アンディ・ベルが加入。新体制でツアーを開始したが、兄弟喧嘩の末のノエルのツアー脱退もあり、一部メディアからはライブバンドとしてのピークは過ぎてしまったかとの評価を受けてしまったSTANDING ON THE SHOULDER OF GIANTS TOURはなんとか着地。
2001年5月〜6月に北米でTHE BLACK CROWESとのジョイントツアーBROTHERLY LOVE TOURを実施するも、ドラムのアラン・ホワイトが親指の怪我のため、兄のスティーブ・ホワイトが代打でツアーに参加。7月にフジロックフェスティバル、タイのバンコク公演にてアラン・ホワイトが復活を果たすが、90年代に飛ぶ鳥を落とす勢いであったバンドがライブバンドとしてのあり方に一抹の不安を抱えていた時期であった。スタジアムバンドまで登りつめたバンドが、そのような中にデビュー当時と同じような極小の箱で記念碑となるツアーを開催。まるで暗雲が立ち込める状況を払拭するかのように、オーディエンスとバンドの間でデビュー当時のような熱いパフォーマンスが終始展開されている。本ツアーはバンド結成10周年を祝福したツアーであったが、2022年のこのタイミングで振り返ってみると、オアシスというバンドが初心を取り戻し、ライブバンドとして再度機能するための復活の狼煙となったツアーとしても捉えることができる。

スタジアム級のバンドが極小の箱で6日間のみのツアーを実施したため、チケットは争奪戦となり偽造チケットまで出回る始末。この高倍率のチケット争奪戦に見事勝利した幸運なオーディエンスのみが体感できたマンチェスター公演2日間を本タイトルでは完全収録しており、今回のリリースに伴い新たにマスタリングを施し、バンドの演奏が従来よりもより聴きやすくなっている。
マンチェスターでの公演は1997年12月のG-MEX公演以来実に4年ぶりであり、極小の箱ということも相まってオーディエンスの反応は凄まじい。曲中・曲間共に良い意味でのオーディエンスノイズを上手く拾っており、彼らの凱旋公演が如何に素晴らしいものであったかを追体験できることであろう。
セットリストを確認すると、当時リリース前であったThe Hindu Times、Hung In A Bad Placeのお披露目、Half The World Away、She’s Electricのセットイン、
このツアーのみの特別なセットとなったWhateverでのエレキギター弾き語りを含んだノエルのエレクトリック・コーナー、2回目のアンコールなど、特別なセットリストとなっている。また、Champagne SupernovaとI Am The Walrusの2曲では、マンチェスターの大先輩であるジョニー・マーがリード・ギターで客演している。
その他にも、初日のWhateverの後に当時バンド内で流行っていた”Who the fuck is Andy Bell?” (アンディ・ベルって誰だ？)をオーディエンスが合唱するシーンも確認でき、バンドメンバーも地元の凱旋ライブでリラックスしながらも終始素晴らしいライブが展開されていた事を確認できるだろう。美しいピクチャー・ディスク仕様の永久保存がっちりプレス盤。
