On May 22, 2017, a suicide bomber broke out at Manchester Arena in the UK (the venues are all the same, although the names are different, such as “NYNEX Arena”, “Evening News Arena”, and “Fonzu 4u Arena” due to the transition of naming rights). Ariana Grande’s Manchester performance is being held at the same venue, and when the audience tried to leave the venue after the performance, an explosion occurred near the entrance of the venue. It was a catastrophe that killed 23 people and injured more than 120. The victims were mostly young people, the youngest of whom died was an 8-year-old girl. The suicide bombing in Manchester had a great impact not only in Britain but around the world, and Queen Elizabeth sent her words, expressing her condolences from all over the world.

Manchester Arena has been closed for some time after the terrorist attacks, but has only reopened months later. A charity concert called “WE ARE MANCHESTER” was held at the time of the resumption. It was Manchester’s male Noel who stood on that stage. 2017年5月22日、英国マンチェスター・アリーナ（ネーミングライツの変遷で「NYNEXアリーナ」「イブニング・ニュース・アリーナ」「フォンズ4uアリーナ」など名称が異なるが全て同じ会場）で自爆テロが発生した。ちょうどアリアナ・グランデのマンチェスター公演が同会場で行なわれており、終演後に観客が会場を出ようとしたその時、会場入り口付近で爆発が発生。23人が死亡し120名以上がケガを負うという大惨事となった。被害者は若者が中心で、死亡した中で最年少は8歳の女の子であった。このマンチェスターで起きた自爆テロは英国のみならず世界中に大きな衝撃を与え、エリザベス女王もお言葉を送り、世界各国からも哀悼の意が表された。

マンチェスター・アリーナは、このテロの後しばらく閉鎖されていたが、数か月を経てようやく営業を再開している。その再開に際し「WE ARE MANCHESTER」というチャリティ・コンサートが行なわれたのである。そのステージに立ったのがマンチェスターの雄ノエルである。これまでも、例えば阪神淡路大震災を報道する地元出身のレポーターが涙声になってしまう事があったが、同じように、ノエルは「Don’t Look Back In Anger」で涙を拭うシーンが見られた。

本作はそのWE ARE MANCHESTERに出演したノエルのステージをサウンドボードで完全収録している。そしてトラック11は、テロ事件当日、マンチェスターの中心であるセント・アン教会に面した広場で、事件を知ったマンチェスター市民が集まり、自然発生的に沸き起こった「Don’t Look Back In Anger」である。ジャケット写真にあるように、広場に鎮座するリチャード・コブデンの銅像を中心として献花やメッセージカードが所狭しと集積され、事件の悲劇性とマンチェスターに与えた衝撃の大きさが伺える。「Don’t Look Back In Anger」（怒りに転嫁してはいけない）、これはテロで大勢の犠牲者を出したマンチェスター市民が、テロの連鎖を断ち切るという覚悟の言葉でもあり、コンサートでのノエルの涙はその市民の気持ちに共鳴したものであろう。

後半は翌2018年STRANDED ON THE EARTH ツアーより、同会場で行なわれたコンサートを収録している。美しいピクチャー・ディスク仕様の永久保存がっちりプレス盤。
