This release contains the latest TV footage of Noel Gallagher, who released his new album “COUNCIL SKIES” in June and started full-scale activities this year, with perfect image quality.
In an interview after the release of the album, Noel said that he would like to perform his live in a theater rather than an arena if possible, but these TV appearances would be perfect for his taste.

アルバム・リリース後のインタビューでノエルは出来ればアリーナよりシアターで自分のライブを行いたいといった旨の発言をしていましたが、これらのテレビ出演はそんな彼の趣向にぴったりなものでしょう。

最初に収録されているのはオアシス時代から何度も出演しているイギリスの長寿音楽番組『LATER… WITH JOOLS HOLLAND』。
実際オープニングではオアシス時代から始まる彼の過去の出演が流されますが、それだけ慣れ親しんだ番組だけにノエルもリラックスモード。
ルックス的にちょっとふっくらした感のある今の彼は手練のハイ・フライングバーズを従え、今回のアルバムからタイトル曲や「Open The Door, See What You Find」といった新曲群を披露。
今回のアルバムの楽曲はどれも軽快で親しみやすくテレビで披露するのに打ってつけ。なるほどこうした楽曲であれば広大な会場よりも親密なシアターでじっくり演奏したいというノエルの気持ちがよく解ります。
それだけにバンドとストリングスまで加わって聞かせる丁寧で軽やかな演奏とノエルの歌はテレビに映えまくる。
合間で披露されたオアシス・クラシックに関しても「Going Nowhere」、さらに「Live Forever」に関してもアコースティックでシンプルにアレンジした上で演奏していることから、今のノエルの好みや狙いが伝わってきます。

もう一つの出演は『PIANO ROOM』という番組。こちらはノエル・ソロ初期の代表曲である「AKA… What A Life!」と今回のアルバム・タイトル曲がメインという構成で、『LATER…』以上に落ち着いた雰囲気で演奏されているのが魅力。
また今年のノエルはジョイ・ディヴィジョンの「Love Will Tear Us Apart」をステージ用にカバーして話題を呼んでいますが、これら二つの番組のどちらでも披露していることから、彼としても自信を持って演奏している事の証かと。
ここでもストリングスを交えた演奏が見事な出来栄えを示しており、文句なしに今年のノエルを象徴するカバーだといえ、早くもその演奏が最高の画質と音質で楽しめてしまうのがポイント高すぎ。
これからも夏のフェス出演などによってさらなるライブ映像が登場するかと思われますが、まずは基本の一本として申し分ないリリースだと断言いたしましょう。
