23-year-old Nena took off into the world with “Rock Balloon wa 99” in tow. Introducing her finest live set where you can enjoy her first foreign performance.
This work features “May 23, 1983 Sittardgelen Performance”. This is a 2-disc set that includes a stereo soundboard recording and multi-camera professional shots from when they appeared at the Netherlands’ leading music festival “PINKPOP FESTIVAL.” First, let’s take a look at the overview of activities at the time and check the position of the show.

This is Nena in 1982/1983. She formed a new band, NENA, and began performing live in the spring of 1982. The following year, in 1983, she embarked on a tour and overseas live performances in conjunction with the release of her album “NENA”. This “PINKPOP FESTIVAL” was the fourth performance of the “European” leg, and was her first time performing outside Germany. In addition, this week another professional shot work “ROCKPALAST & ROCKPOP IN CONCERT 1983 (Uxbridge 2013)” will be released at the same time, but this work will be released 9 days after the “ROCKPOP IN CONCERT” recorded there (after 3 performances). ) was also available. As such shows are famous festivals, they are also broadcast on radio and television. This work is a two-disc set that archives both of them with the best master. [Main CD: Full live album by FM soundboard] The main feature of this work is a live album that allows you to fully experience the day. It is an FM sound board master that was recently released, and its quality is excavation official level. FM broadcasts from the 1990s onwards tend to have a lot of sound pressure and tend to be a bit clunky, but this work has a natural feel that is typical of the 80s. There are no dubbing traces, and it is a superb master with a wonderful freshness that makes you feel as if you are directly receiving the broadcast radio waves at the time. Because the mix in “Ich Lieb Dich” was disrupted (the broadcast itself is like this), it could not be saved permanently, but the basic quality is press-grade.What is spelled out on such a fresh sound board is a full stage that can be called a “live performance version of Plastic Dreams”. Eight of the album’s 12 songs were performed, interspersed with single B-sides and new songs from their second album “?”. There were no songs from the 2nd album in “ROCKPALAST & ROCKPOP IN CONCERT 1983” released at the same time, so this work has a more varied show. Let’s check out the contents of the set here.

これが1982年／1983年のネーナ。新バンドNENAを結成し、1982年の春にはライヴ活動も開始。翌1983年にはアルバム『NENA』発売に合わせ、ツアーや国外ライヴにも乗り出します。本作の“PINKPOP FESTIVAL”は「欧州」レッグの４公演目にあたり、彼女にとって初めてドイツ国外で行うステージでした。なお、今週はもう１つのプロショット作『ROCKPALAST & ROCKPOP IN CONCERT 1983（Uxbridge 2013）』も同時リリースとなりますが、本作はそこに収録された“ROCKPOP IN CONCERT”の直近９日後（３公演後）でもありました。そんなショウは名物フェスだけあってラジオ／テレビでも放送。本作は、その両者をベスト・マスターでアーカイヴする２枚組なのです。それでは、それ底別にご紹介していきましょう。
【メインCD：FMサウンドボードによるフル・ライヴアルバム】
本作のメインは、当日をフル体験できるライヴアルバム。最近になって公開されたFMサウンドボード・マスターで、そのクオリティは発掘オフィシャル級。90年代以降のFM放送は音圧稼ぎが激しくてパッツンパッツンしがちですが、本作はいかにも80年代らしいナチュラル感。ダビング痕も見当たらず、当時の放送電波を直接受信しているような瑞々しさが素晴らしい極上マスターです。「Ich Lieb Dich」でミックスが乱れる（放送自体がこうなっています）ために永久保存には至りませんでしたが、基本クオリティはプレス級です。
そんなフレッシュ・サウンドボードで綴られるのは、「生演奏版プラスティック・ドリームス」ともなるフル・ステージ。アルバム全12曲中８曲が披露され、そこにシングルＢ面曲や2ndアルバム『?』の新曲が散りばめられている。同時リリースの『ROCKPALAST & ROCKPOP IN CONCERT 1983』には2ndアルバムの曲はありませんでしたので、本作の方がよりバラエティ豊かなショウになっています。ここで、そのセット内容もチェックしておきましょう。

【ボーナスDVD：極上マスター３種によるプロショット集】
そんなサウンドボード・アルバムには、当時のプロショットを集成したDVDも付属します。メインCDと同じ“PINKPOP FESTIVAL”をフィーチュアしていますが、TV放送は４曲だけでした。短いとは言え、クオリティは完全オフィシャル級ですし、一番オイシイ「99 Luftballons」はしっかりもばっちり。ドイツ語で巻き起こる大合唱はスタジオ・テイクでは味わえない醍醐味たっぷり（オランダ語はドイツ語に近いらしく、観客の合唱も完璧）です。
もちろん、４曲だけではあまりに食い足りない。そこで、本作ではさらに２種のプロショットを追加収録しています。１つは「1982年12月28日ベルリン公演」。上記スケジュールで言うところの「西ドイツ#2」の最終日です。そして最後を飾るのは大代表曲「99 Luftballons」のビデオ・クリップ。追加されたプロショット２種も超極上クオリティで、合計３種「７曲・10テイク」を完全オフィシャル級で楽しめます。最後に、その曲目内容も整理しておきましょう。
