The legendary label “So What”, which received tremendous trust from Miles Davis lovers and produced numerous masterpieces. Under the complete supervision of the “So What” label, “Voodoo Down Records (hereafter VDD)” was launched at the end of 2020. The fact that we were allowed to list the label name of “SO WHAT!” For the first time shows the depth of trust. Careful mastering, editing, discerning artwork with obi, and a beautiful picture disc press board. Although it is a new label, it is already attracting attention as a must-have item for Miles collectors.

This time, the live sound source of Miles’ last year 1991 will appear. The jazz emperor Miles Davis died on September 28, 1991. What is contained here is a live performance about two months ago. Knowing or not knowing his own end, this live was the best summary of Miles’ jazz history. Miles, who has undergone many transformations from his insatiable pursuit, gathered together with the heroes who supported various eras, and the co-starring was realized as if recollecting each era. Just by looking at the set list with the participating members, you can hear the sobbing of deep fans. From Jackie McLean to Delon Johnson and Richard Patterson who supported his last years, Hancock to Shorter, Dave Holland to Zawinul to Chick for Grossman, John Scofield to John McLean, and Al Foster’s long right arm. Foster and so on. “ALL BLUES”, “IN A SILENT WAY”, “IT’S ABOUT THAT TIME”, “FOOTPRINTS”, Hancock’s “WATERMELON MAN”, and “JEAN PIERRE”. It’s the “Last Supper”. Please refer to the details of who is participating in which song inside the table jacket. The sound quality is perfectly recorded on the sound board, but there are some places where noise is slightly affected by the latter half master.

A bonus DVDR will be included for the first time only. The content is a professional shot video that recorded a part of the live. The official version is a different version with different angles and edits. There is no menu screen, but chapters are turned off for each song.

今回登場するのはマイルス最晩年1991年のライヴ音源。ジャズ界の帝王マイルス・デイヴィスが逝ったのは1991年9月28日のこと。ここに収められているのはその約二ケ月前のライヴ。自身の最期を知ってか知らずか行われたこのライヴは、マイルスのジャズ史を総括する最高のものでした。飽くなき追求から幾多の変貌を遂げてきたマイルスの、様々な時代を支えた錚々たる猛者たちが一堂に会し、それぞれの時代を回想するかのように共演が実現したのです。参加メンバーとセット・リストを見ただけでディープなファンのむせび泣きが聞こえてくる様。なんと古くはジャッキー・マクリーンから最晩年を支えたデロン・ジョンソンやリチャード・パターソンまで、そしてショーターにハンコック、グロスマンにザヴィヌルにチックにデイヴ・ホランド、ジョンマクにジョンスコまで、そしてエレクトリック・マイルスの長き右腕アル・フォスター等々。『ALL BLUES』やら『IN A SILENT WAY』やら『IT’S ABOUT THAT TIME』やら『FOOTPRINTS』やら、どさくさでハンコックの『WATERMELON MAN』までやって『JEAN PIERRE』で大団円。まさに“最後の晩餐”。表ジャケの内側には誰がどの曲で参加しているのか詳細が記されているのでぜひ参照しながら鑑賞してください。音質は万全のサウンドボード収録ですが、後半マスター起因によりややノイズが被る個所もあります。

初回限定でボーナスDVDRが付きます。内容は同ライヴの一部を収録したプロショット映像。オフィシャルで出ているものとは、アングルや編集の違うバージョンです。メニュー画面はありませんが、曲ごとチャプターは切られています。
