Three years after his first visit to Japan in 1977, FLEETWOOD MAC in 1980 was in the midst of a major zen with the blockbuster “Task” following “Rumour”. A superb sound board album that symbolizes the Japanese performance of such an era is now available.
Recorded in this work is the performance of “February 13, 1980: Kanagawa Prefectural Hall”. It is the stereo sound board recording. FLEETWOOD MAC has visited Japan four times in 45 years, but 1980 is the largest in scale and number of performances. First of all, let’s look back at such a peak visit to Japan schedule and check the position of the show.

A total of 10 performances. They came to Japan four times and performed a total of 19 shows, more than half of which were set in 1980. Moreover, three consecutive performances were held at Nippon Budokan. You can see that it was the peak of popularity in Japan in both quality and quantity. It was the 7th performance concert, which is the turning point of.
Such a show is also known for having a soundboard left behind, and has become a standard that has produced many previous releases. This work is also the same sound board recording, but the master who is considered the best by collectors is adopted. Furthermore, it is the highest peak board that has been refined with meticulous mastering. The sound is certainly the best ever. A mix where you can barely hear the cheers doesn’t feel like a broadcast product, but that’s why the live performance is approaching, and the ensemble and the whole body fuse together. Even if the three singing voices overlap thickly, it is so real and delicate that you can feel the breathing of each person.
This work refines such original sounds, but in the case of this work, you may feel the upgrade in editing accuracy rather than sound quality. That is to say, although the master that appeared in the net original sound has a good sound, it is cut off with silence between songs. Acoustic songs such as “Never Going Back Again,” “Landslide,” and “Songbird” were difficult to hear due to the difference in sound pressure from the electric. In this work, such shortcomings are corrected. The cut-off songs are connected with fades, and you can listen to both acoustic and electric without discomfort. It may feel too natural and seamless from the beginning, but that is the best proof of pursuing “perfection as a musical work”.
A live in Japan filled with the brilliance of the grand heyday that flows out from this work, which is just like that work. Speaking of live at that time, the official traditional board “LIVE” will be the standard, so let’s organize the set while comparing.

This is the highest peak of the sound board album that was born from the performance in Japan during the peak era. Mixes that specialize in live performances are not the type to enjoy the mood of the venue, but the heat of the band, which has conquered faraway Asian countries, will make you understand your brain. A two-disc set that can also be called the “Japanese version of“ LIVE ””. Please enjoy it to the fullest.

1977年の初来日から３年、『噂』に続く『牙（タスク）』の大ヒットで一大禅の真っ直中にいた1980年のFLEETWOOD MAC。そんな時代の日本公演を象徴する極上サウンドボード・アルバムが登場です。
そんな本作に記録されているのは「1980年２月13日：神奈川県民ホール」公演。そのステレオ・サウンドボード録音です。FLEETWOOD MACは45年間で四度の来日を果たしておりますが、規模も公演数も1980年こそが最大。まずは、そんな絶頂の来日スケジュールを振り返り、ショウのポジションを確かめてみましょう。

以上、全10公演。彼らは四度の来日で合計19回のライヴを行っているのですが、その半分以上が1980年に固まっていました。しかも、日本武道館でも３連続公演を実施。質・量ともに日本人気の絶頂だった事が分かります。本作の横浜公演は、そんなジャパンツアー
の折り返しにあたる７公演目のコンサートでした。
そんなショウはサウンドボードが残された事でも知られ、数々の既発を生み出す定番ともなってきました。本作も同じサウンドボード録音なわけですが、コレクター筋からベストとショウされるマスターを採用。さらに細心マスタリングで磨き込んだ最高峰盤なのです。そのサウンドは、確かに過去最高。歓声がほとんど聞こえないミックスはあまり放送物という感じはしないのですが、それだけに生演奏が丸出しで迫り、アンサンブルと全身が融合するようなシンクロ感が絶大。３人の歌声がぶ厚く重なっても１人ひとりの息づかいが感じられるほどにリアルで繊細なのです。
本作は、そんな原音を磨き込んでいるわけですが、本作の場合は音質よりも編集の精度の方にアップグレードを実感されるかも知れません。と申しますのも、ネット原音に登場したマスターはサウンドこそ良いものの、曲間に無音が挟まるブツ切り収録。「Never Going Back Again」「Landslide」「Songbird」といったアコースティック曲ではエレクトリックとの音圧差で聞きづらくなっていました。本作では、そうした欠点を補正。ブツ切りの曲間はフェイドで繋がれていますし、アコースティックもエレクトリックも違和感なく通して聴ける。あまりにも自然で最初からシームレスなように感じてしまうかも知れませんが、それこそが「音楽作品としての完成度」を追究した何よりの証でもあるのです。
その作品然とした本作から流れ出るのは、一大全盛の輝きに満ちたライヴ・イン・ジャパン。当時のライヴと言えば、オフィシャルの伝統盤『LIVE』が基準になりますので、比較しながらセットを整理してみましょう。
