Mick Jagger’s first visit to Japan, which shook the archipelago ahead of the Stones. Forget
Introducing a TV program compilation that vividly revives that “spring of 1988”.
This work contains a number of TV programs that were broadcast when Mick came to Japan. Previously, a gift title with a similar title was a big hit, but this work is an expanded version that has been greatly increased to about 73 minutes based on that masterpiece. The content consists of 14 different types of videos, from news programs that are only taken up for a moment to special programs. Recording can be roughly divided into the following five types in chronological order of broadcasting. Let’s introduce each in detail, including a review of the previous version.

[March 7: Narita Arrival Documents (2 types)] The first thing that will appear is the announcement of arrival in Japan on a news program and the morning wide show “Good morning! Nice day” on “March 7” when we actually arrived at Narita Airport. The scene of the airport, which was crowded with media and fans and became noisy, brings the atmosphere of the times to life. Furthermore, in the studio’s comment, Mr. Kame * da of the Stones group said, “I wasn’t Horowitz, but I wanted to see Mick a little while ago.” Is it Japan? ” This passing is also the best tickling.

[March 8: Press conference (3 types)] Next is a press conference held at the Akasaka / ANA Hotel the next day. “You at 3 o’clock” “News station” “Good morning! Nice day”. The first shock is “you at 3 o’clock”. A live broadcast of the Ochanoma program for the general public, hosted by Showa’s big actress Mori Oko, entitled “Rock superstar Mick Jagger finally comes to Japan” with almost no time lag. In another sense, the “news station” broadcast on the day is amazing. In addition to the press conference video, “Satisfaction” edited by the program will be played. It is a live video of the 1969 Hyde Park performance, but it is covered with the topic video at the time of release (1965). The topics are “Fuel loading at Tokai-mura nuclear power plant”, “Fighting Harada, world champion”, “Narita unofficial decision at New Tokyo International Airport” and so on. The intention to convey a sense of the times to the viewer is like a news program, and it is a super valuable version that was possible because it was an “incident” involving the general public.
“Good morning! Nice day” is broadcast on “March 9” the day after the press conference, and it is best to watch the press conference for a long time. It’s amazing to move to the studio. When the commentator said, “I smiled and sprinkled my affection, it was different from the image,” Shinichiro Kurimoto, who has a fan temperament, said, “No, that’s a pretty dangerous person.” This “I’m in trouble if you don’t like our Mick” face … “Oh, I’m scared of my seniors”, and it’s embarrassing to understand.

[March 10: Long interview / 12: Last minute announcement (2 types)] Familiar “Best Hit USA with Mick Jagger”. It was recorded on “March 10” and was broadcast on March 23, two weeks later. This week, the introduction of the chart is only shown at the end (although the lineup is also a great sense of the times), and almost all of the programs feature Mick. Even an unusual composition conveys a special feeling. At the beginning, there will be a live performance of “Under My Thumb” from “June 25, 1982: London Wembley” (voice is official), but the long interview is even more wonderful, and this is the longest in-view at this time. ★ New video part 1 ★
Here are two new scenes that were not seen in the previous gift. One is a performance scene that is inserted between interviews. There was a live video of “Under My Thumb” last time, but this time there are 5 more clips of “Throwaway”, “Say You Will”, “Jumpin’Jack Flash”, “Hard Woman” and “One Hit (to the Body)”. Is also shed uncut. It’s not very valuable, but it’s a real-time sensation because it’s a PV that I watched many times at that time.

★ New video part 2 ★
The second new video is “All Night Fuji” recorded after “Best Hit USA”. The video is only a re-editing of Narita and a press conference, but it is a vivid video of the announcement ahead of the first day performance, such as a studio talk asking “Are you going to see it?”

[March 15: Osaka performance / 20th: Postponement notice (3 types)] Here comes a valuable professional shot video of visiting Japan! It is “Throwaway” of the “March 15: Osaka Castle Hall” performance. It’s just a short one-camera video with program narration, but it’s a treasure where you can see the historical Mick’s premiere in Japan with a professional shot.
Even more shocking was the postponement notice telop that was broadcast on “March 20”. A live video of the “Hanshin vs Nankai” open game and what was played during the horse racing program. The fact that the Hawks are “Nankai” makes me excited, but the content of the telop is too vivid. Let’s write it out for a moment.
“The Mick Jagger transfer performance scheduled for today was canceled because his condition did not recover. The transfer performance will be held again on March 28 (Monday) at Osaka-jo Hall. increase.”
Not only this wording, but also the fact that it was recorded is amazing. This work is a recorded video by a recording enthusiast, but is it that you continued to record the broadcast for this telop (!?) …? Certainly, at the venue of “March 19th”, it was announced that “I will inform you by telop”, but I can not know what time it is. A terrifying maniac soul.

[March 22: Tokyo performance (4 types)] This is also a super valuable professional shot! It is a “news station” that was broadcast on the Tokyo premiere “March 22nd”. “Mick has come to Tokyo Dome!” And the second song “Throwaway” will be played for about 3 minutes on the day! Of course, this day’s live will be broadcast on TV, but this is a complete diff video for this time only !! The multi-camera video and high-quality microphone sound are original. Furthermore, Mr. Hiroshi Hisa’s comment is also interesting. “Well, one point of rock music is the volume of this sound, but I think you can see that it makes recording difficult again. Finally, two new videos have been added. First of all, “All Night Fuji” again. れ得ぬ、あの「1988年の春」が鮮やかに甦るTV番組コンピレーションが登場です。
そんな本作に収められているのは、ミックの来日当時に放送されたTV番組の数々。以前、同じようなタイトルのギフト・タイトルが大ヒットを記録しましたが、本作はあの名作をベースにしつつ、約73分に大増量された拡張版です。内容は一瞬取り上げただけのニュース番組から特番まで、多様な14種もの映像で構成されています。収録は放送の時系列順で、おおよそ次の５種に大別できる。前回版のおさらいも含め、それぞれ詳しくご紹介していきましょう。

【３月７日：成田到着ドキュメント（２種）】
まず登場するのはニュース番組での来日告知と、実際に成田空港に到着した「３月７日」の朝ワイドショー「おはよう！ナイスデイ」。メディア、ファンがごった返して騒然となった空港の光景が時代の空気をリアルに運んでくる。さらにスタジオのコメントでは、ストーンズ派の亀○田氏が「ホロヴィッツじゃないけど、もう少し前のミックを見たかった」といかにも80年代な感覚を語るかと思えば、場違いなコメンテーターが「最後の稼ぎ場所は日本ですかね」など世迷い事をのたまう。このすれ違いも最高にくすぐるのです。

【３月８日：記者会見（３種）】
続くは、翌日に行われた赤坂・全日空ホテルでの記者会見。「３時のあなた」「ニュースステーション」「おはよう！ナイスデイ」です。まず衝撃なのが「３時のあなた」。昭和の大女優、森○子さんが司会を務める一般向けお茶の間番組に「ロックのスーパースター、ミック・ジャガーが遂に来日」と題してほぼ時間差なしの中継。これだけで初来日の巨大な衝撃がアリアリと伝わるわけですが、その森さんが凄い。「日本では覚えやすいですね。『肉ジャガ』と覚えましょう」「ロックの肉ジャガ。浅草で食べるみたい」と何度も繰り返してしまう。このとんでもない発言でも、なぜか微笑ましくなる森さんも素晴らしければ、あえて応えず話題を変えようとするもう１人の司会者、野間○平氏のマジメな姿にも心打たれます。
別の意味で凄いのが当日放送の「ニュースステーション」。記者会見映像の他に、番組独自編集の「Satisfaction」が流れる。1969年ハイドパーク公演のライヴ映像なのですが、リリース当時（1965年）のトピック映像を被せられる。そのトピックは「東海村原発に燃料装てん」「ファイティング・原田、世界チャンピオンに」「新東京国際空港に成田内定」等々など……。視聴者に時代感を伝える趣向は何ともニュース番組的で、一般大衆を巻き込んだ“事件”だったからこそあり得た超貴重バージョンです。
「おはよう！ナイスデイ」は会見翌日「３月９日」の放送で、会見を長めに見られるのが最高。スタジオに移っても凄い。コメンテーターが「ニコニコして愛想を振りまいて、イメージと違った」と言うと、ファン気質丸出しの栗本慎○郎氏が「いやいや、あれで結構、危ない人なんですよ」と返す。この「俺たちのミックをナメてもらっちゃ困るぜ」なドヤ顔……「ああ見えてウチの先輩は怖いんだぜ」的で、凄く分かるものの気恥ずかしくもあるのです。

【３月10日：ロングインタビュー／12日：直前告知（２種）】
お馴染み「ベストヒットUSA with ミック・ジャガー」。「３月10日」に収録され、２週間後の３月23日に放送されたもの。この週はチャートの紹介がラストに流される（そのラインナップも凄い時代感ですが）だけで、番組のほとんどすべてがミック特集。異例な構成だけでも特別感が伝わります。冒頭で“1982年６月25日：ロンドン・ウェンブリー”の「Under My Thumb」のライヴ（音声は公式盤）も流れますが、それ以上にロング・インタビューが素晴らしく、この時期でここまで長いインビュー映像は他にありません。
しかも、その内容も特濃。ちょっと拾っても……「15年前みたいなことがないように、慎重に事を進めた」「長い距離のマラソンなんてやってない。逆に不健康だ」「振付なんてしないよ。イメージにこだわらない。自分自身でしかない」「ときどき、ロックにうんざりする」「ロックははずみだね。何回もやると型にはまる」「学校では経済学や政治学を勉強していた。それより経理をやっときゃ良かったな（笑）」「道を選ぶときには悩んだよ。こうなるとは思わなかったし」「ドラムマシンはプログラムすると、それに合わせて歌わなきゃならない。今はみんな機械仕掛けだ」等々など。一般向け番組とはまるで違う、真摯な“音楽家ミック”がたっぷりと見られるのです。

★新規映像その１★
ここで前回ギフトでは観られなかった新規シーンが２つあります。１つはインタビューの合間に挿入される演奏シーン。「Under My Thumb」のライヴ映像は前回にもありましたが、今回はさらに５曲「Throwaway」「Say You Will」「Jumpin’ Jack Flash」「Hard Woman」「One Hit (to the Body)」のクリップもノーカットで流される。貴重度は高くありませんが、当時何度も観たPVだからこそのリアルタイム感覚にむせ返るのです。

★新規映像その２★
２つめの新規映像は「ベストヒットUSA」の後に収録された「オールナイトフジ」。映像としては成田や記者会見の再編集でしかないのですが、「観に行かれるんですか？」と訊くスタジオ・トークなど、初日公演を目前に控えた告知が生々しい映像です。

【３月15日：大阪公演／20日：延期告知（３種）】
ここで貴重な来日プロショット映像が登場！　「３月15日：大阪城ホール」公演の「Throwaway」です。あくまで番組ナレーションが付く短めのワンカメ映像なのですが、歴史的なミックの日本初演がプロショットで観られるお宝です。
さらに衝撃的なのは「３月20日」に放送された延期告知テロップ。「阪神vs南海」オープン戦の中継映像と、競馬番組の最中に流れたもの。ホークスが「南海」な事にも胸が熱くなりますが、テロップ内容もあまりに生々しい。ちょっと書き出してみましょう。
「本日予定しておりましたミックジャガー振替公演は、本人の病状が回復せず、公演は中止となりました。なお、再度の振り替え公演を、3月28日(月）大阪城ホールにて行います。」
この文言もさることながら、録画されていた事実にも驚く。本作は記録マニアによる録画映像なのですが、このテロップを目当てに放送を録画し続けていた（!?）という事なのでしょうか……。確かに「３月19日」の会場で「テロップでお知らせします」とアナウンスされてはいましたが、それが何時なのか分かるはずもない。恐るべきマニア魂です。

【３月22日：東京公演（４種）】
これまた超貴重なプロショット！　東京初演「３月22日」に放送された「ニュースステーション」です。突如登場する死ぬほど美しい小○悦子と共にデカデカと「ミックが東京ドームにやってきた！」。そして、当日２曲目「Throwaway」が約３分に渡って流れるのです！　勿論、この日のライヴはテレビ放送されるわけですが、これはこの時限りの完全ディフ映像!!　マルチカメラの映像も、高音質なマイク・サウンドもオリジナル。さらに久○宏氏のコメントも面白い。「まぁロックミュージックてのは、この音のボリュームと言うのがひとつのポイントなんですが、それだけに収録がまた難しくなるというのがご覧頂いて判ったと思います。臨場感とはだいぶ違いますが」とまるでブート解説のようです（笑）。
さらに「ニュースステーション」とは別バージョンの「Throwaway」をフィーチュアした「おはよう！ナイスデイ」も収録。「５万人のフィーバー熱唱22曲！」の手書き文字にもシビれますし、超貴重なプロショットに挟まるシーンもドキュメント。開演を待ちながらエアバンドで盛り上がるファン、それを怪訝そうに眺めるオバサン（あんたも見に来たの？）の姿も強烈なら、興奮する著名人には既に亡くなられた方々の姿も……。

★新規映像その３★
最後に新規映像が２種追加されています。まずは再び「オールナイトフジ」。名古屋公演（３月26日）の当日に放送されたもので、３月27日に予定されていたコンサート放送を告知するもの（本放送は当店の『MICK JAGGER IN TOKYO DOME: TV BROADCAST 1988』でお楽しみください）。東京ドームを「ビッグエッグ」と呼び、女性タレントが酔ってるのかと思うほどたどたどしく原稿を読み、公共電波で堂々と女子大生を募集し、今では画家として知られる片岡鶴太○がチンピラのよう……短いながらも、現在では考えられない光景が連続して吹き出します。
★新規映像その４★
最後の最後も新規映像、吉○照美の「VIDEO MAGAZINE」です。すでに全公演が終了しており、鳥井賀○や松金よね○がミックを語ったり、一般客を居酒屋に集めて座談会したり。感想会なコメントもリアルではありますが、可笑しいのはむしろスタジオトーク。まだ20代だった岡○まりが「1973年の来日はどうして中止に？」と振るのですが、吉田照○はとっさに答えられずにしどろもどろ。まあ確かに、いかな1988年であっても公共電波で「大麻吸ってたからだよ」と言って良いかはよくよく考えないといけません。

以上、14種・１時間13分16秒に及ぶ歴史的な証言映像です。大人気だったギフト版より30分近くも増量され、たとえ当時を知らなくてもドキュメンタリー映画として面白く、想い出が深いほど時代の薫りが鼻腔をくすぐる超娯楽大作。日本洋楽史の一大事件だったミック来訪、どうぞ心ゆくまで存分にご体験ください。
