Michael Schenker is coming to Japan for the first time in four years as part of his 50th anniversary tour. Expectations for the long-awaited performance in Japan are burning in front of us, and three superb live albums will be released at the same time!
This work is the second in a series of three. It is a superb audience recording of “October 22, 2022 New York City Performance”. This is an overview of the Japan performance and the North American tour that took place immediately before. The New York City performance of this work was just in the middle of the two simultaneous releases, “FALL RIVER 2022” and “FALL RIVER 2022 (Shades 1636)”, and was a concert just one month before the performance in Japan.
This work, which conveys such a show, is a superb audience with “super”. The three works released at the same time this time are all impact recordings that rewrite the tour’s masterpiece at once. Speaking of recent MSG, the professional shots “GRASPOP METAL MEETING 2022 (Shades 1551)” and “HELLFEST 2022 (Shades 1552)” are famous, but this week’s trilogy is as good as its soundboard sound. No, it’s a level that can be said to be superior if you add the beauty of the natural sound and the balance of the entire ensemble.
Moreover, in terms of impact, this work is the best among the trilogy. That is to say, the other two works in the trilogy are works by Taper, who is famous as a master. Even before I heard it, I was convinced that “Oh, if that master recorded it, it must be amazing”, and I was convinced that “Oh, it’s amazing after all”. On the other hand, it was an unknown person who recorded this work. Despite appearing with absolutely zero expectations, the quality was completely on par with the two modern masters… It’s probably a beginner’s rack, but it’s an accidental masterpiece loved by the goddess of recording.
The sound of such a goddess’s smile portrays MSG’s full show as they improve their skills for Japan. The set is common to all trilogy, but let’s reorganize it here by comparing it with “WOLVERHAMPTON 2021 (Shades 1442)”, which was the first report of Romero joining.

… and it looks like this. The current show has 17 songs in total, but “WOLVERHAMPTON 2021” had a long show of 23 songs, perhaps trying to find out the compatibility between Romero and the song.
Of course, it may seem that more songs are more profitable, but music is not that simple. This work continues to keep high tension because the set is tight, and above all, the skill level has increased by stepping on the number of times. Romero is especially growing. In the above-mentioned pro shot “GRASPOP METAL MEETING 2022”, I lost track of the song and lost the lyrics, and I exposed a terrible abomination, but this North American tour redeemed my honor. Not only the songs of Phil Mogg and Gary Burden, but also the difficult song “Assault Attack” will let you hear the wonderful singing that was said to be better than Graham Bonnet himself.
If you know the skill of Mr. “Farve4” and Mr. “bcironmaiden”, you won’t believe me when I say “I’m on par with those two”. But it does exist. Perhaps the taper who worked on this work will also be known as a “virtuoso” in the near future, and this week’s trilogy may be told as a historical confrontation work.
