KISS’s super-superb soundboard series, where new excavations of earth-shattering earth are constantly being discovered. This time, the three consecutive no-makeup works from the mid-80s will be released at the same time as a permanent press CD!
2 of the 3 consecutive works this time were “ANIMALIZE Tour”, but only this one is a live album of “ASYLUM Tour”. It is a stereo sound board recording of “March 27, 1986 Ellie Performance”. “ASYLUM Tour” was a sound source dark age even with no makeup KISS, but it is a superb sound board album that clears the darkness at once. First of all, let’s take a bird’s eye view from such a tour overview.
● 1985
・ January 3-March 29: North America # 1 (61 performances)
《“ASYLUM” released on September 16th》
・November 29-December 31: North America #2a (23 performances)
● 1986
・January 3-April 12: North America #2b (68 performances) ← Coco
This is the 1985/1986 KISS. “North America #1” is the final part of the “ANIMALIZE Tour”, and “North America #2” is the “ASYLUM Tour”. As usual, the North American bias … or should I say, I have only performed live in North America. Speaking of the standard of this tour, there was also the FM sound board of the Charlotte performance, but it is the first half “North America # 2a”, and this work is the second half “North America # 2b”. It was a concert corresponding to the 56th performance.
From such a show, a shocking world premiere sound board came out. Only mediocre audience recordings have been known so far, but of course it is a completely different thing. The loud cheers can be heard far away, directly connected to the mix table, and the live performance with the core exposed blows out. The Charlotte performance sound board mentioned above was a mix that seems to be an FM broadcast and had its own effects, but there is no such evidence in this work. Completely unprocessed performance sounds and singing voices are emitted from the speakers.
The full show of the precious “ASYLUM Tour” is drawn with such super-direct and super-vivid outflow sounds. I have been referring to the Charlotte performance sound board from earlier, but it is also an excerpt board edited along the broadcast frame. Although this work is a cut-in at the beginning of “Love Gun”, it is also a live album where you can enjoy almost all songs in full. Let’s organize the set while comparing here.
● 80’s (9 songs)
・Dark Myth: Creatures of the Night (★) / War Machine / I Still Love You / I Love It Loud
・Others: Fits Like A Glove/Lick It Up (★)/Heaven’s On Fire/Uh! All Night/Tears Are Falling
70’s Classics (4 songs)
・Cold Gin/Detroit Rock City/Rock And Roll All Nite/Love Gun
* Note: “★” marks are songs that could not be heard at the 1985 Charlotte performance SBD.
… and it looks like this. You can also enjoy “Creatures of the Night”, which was not played on the Charlotte board, and “Lick It Up”, which was an audience complement, on a brain-directed sound board. More delicious than that would be the new songs “Uh! All Night” and “Tears Are Falling” of “ASYLUM”. In particular, the former is almost exclusively a limited song for the “ASYLUM Tour” (it was played only once at last year’s “KISS KRUISE”), and is an extremely rare song that could not be heard even on “KISSOLOGY VOLUME TWO”. You can enjoy it with the super superb sound board.
The “ASYLUM Tour” that could not be found even in the official “KISSOLOGY VOLUME TWO”. It is a shocking new excavation live album that pours the whole view of the show into the brain with a superb sound board. An absolute work that is rare even in the world’s first public sound board series. Please fully enjoy the permanent preservation press 2CD!
★ Stereo sound board recording of “March 27, 1986 Erie Performance”. A super-superb quality board directly connected to the mix desk, which is the first appearance sound source of the world shock excavated by its own route, and the loud cheers can be heard far away. This is an absolute edition that allows you to fully enjoy the “ASYLUM Tour” that you could not find even in the official “KISSOLOGY VOLUME TWO” such as “Uh! All Night” and “Tears Are Falling”.
