DEEP PURPLE in 2022, when Steve Morse temporarily left and started touring with a temporary guitarist since Randy California / Joe Satriani. Introducing the latest live album where you can fully experience the stage you care about.
It is “June 19, 2022 Dessel performance” that is imbued with such a work. This is the best audience recording when he appeared in the Belgian festival “GRASPOP METAL MEETING”. This is the schedule from 2020 to 2023 that has been announced so far. With the new tour “WHOOSH! Tour” on the horizon, Mose announces a temporary withdrawal to care for his wife suffering from cancer. Although it is unknown when Mose will return, Simon McBride will be appointed as a substitute guitarist for the live performances from May to July. Simon is a guitarist who became known for his reunion SWEET SAVAGE and is now 44 years old (4 years older than Ronnie Romero). He has joined SNAKE CHARMER as a successor to Micky Moody in the Purple family and has toured with Ian Gillan and Don Airey. Anyway, “GRASPOP METAL MEETING” of this work is the second performance of such “Europe # 1”. It was the 7th performance since Simon participated.
This work that recorded such a stage is the best audience recording. I’m sure some of you are coming from the title, but this week IRON MAIDEN version “Shades 1563”, JUDAS PRIEST version “Shades 1564”, SAXON version “Shades 1565” will also appear, but this work also It is also a sister work by the same recorder. スティーヴ・モーズが一時離脱し、ランディ・カリフォルニア／ジョー・サトリアーニ以来の臨時ギタリストとツアーを開始した2022年のDEEP PURPLE。気になるステージをフル体験できる最新ライヴアルバムが登場です。
そんな本作に吹き込まれているのは「2022年６月19日デッセル公演」。ベルギーを代表するフェス“GRASPOP METAL MEETING”に出演した際の極上オーディエンス録音です。昨年はカバーアルバム『TURNING TO CRIME』もリリースしましたが、ツアー・タイトルは“WHOOSH! Tour”。良い機会でもありますので、2019年の“THE LONG GOODBYE”以降の歩みをおさらいしてみましょう。

これが現在までに公表されている2020年ー2023年のスケジュール。新ツアー“WHOOSH! Tour”を目前にして、ガンを患っている奥方の看病をするためにモーズが一時離脱を表明。モーズの復帰時期は不明なものの、５月から７月のライヴはサイモン・マクブライドが代役ギタリストに起用されることになりました。サイモンは再結成SWEET SAVAGEで知られるようになったギタリストで、現在44歳（ロニー・ロメロと同世代で４つ上ですね）。パープル・ファミリーとしてはミッキー・ムーディの後任としてSNAKECHARMERに参加しており、イアン・ギランやドン・エイリーともツアー経験があります。ともあれ、本作の“GRASPOP METAL MEETING”はそんな「欧州#1」の２公演目。サイモンが参加してからトータル７公演目にあたるショウでした。
そんなステージを記録した本作は、極上のオーディエンス録音。タイトルからピンと来ている方もいらっしゃると思いますが、今週は同タイトルのIRON MAIDEN篇『Shades 1563』やJUDAS PRIEST篇『Shades 1564』、SAXON篇『Shades 1565』も登場しますが、本作もまた同じ録音家による姉妹作なのです。しかも、クオリティ面では本作こそがベスト。上記３組の録音では冒頭でセッティングを探るような揺れも感じられたのですが、本作にはそれもほとんどない。野外録音ならではの極太な芯がダイレクトに轟き、それに伴ってディテールも詳細。まさに「まるでサウンドボード」「これFM放送？」と呼ぶに相応しい極上の銘品なのです。
そんなサウンドで描かれるのはサイモン・マクブライドのギターも気になる最新のフルショウ。彼のギターは…………と、無粋なネタバレは止めて（笑）おき、最後にセットの整理だけしておきましょう。
