Kiss / New Jersey 1992 / 2CDR / Shades
Meadowlands Arena, East Rutherford, NJ, USA 9th October 1992
KISS in 1992, who was vomiting with “REVENGE”, one of the best masterpieces of the no-makeup era. Three masterpiece live albums that allow you to experience the tour on site will be released at the same time.
This work is the final installment of such a trilogy. “October 9, 1992 East Rutherford Performance”. It is that powerful audience recording. Simultaneous release of three works of “REVENGE Tour” this week. Each leg is different, so let’s first check the positional relationship of each from the overall tour.
・ April 23-May 10: North America # 1 (13 performances) ← * TEMPE 1992
・ May 16-26: UK (8 performances) ← * BIRMINGHAM 1992
《Release of “REVENGE” on May 19》
・September 27 “REVENGE IS READY”
・September 30 “REVENGE TOUR PRESS SHOW 1992 (rehearsal)”
・October 1-December 20: North America #2 (55 performances) ← Coco
This is KISS in 1992. Simultaneously released “TEMPE 1992 (Shades 1690)” and “BIRMINGHAM 1992 (Shades 1692)” were spring tours before and after the album release, but this work was the main autumn tour “North America # 2”. In addition, this “North America # 2” is a treasure trove of name recordings, and it is also crowded with official “ALIVE III” and masterpiece sound boards. It’s also a good opportunity, so let’s focus on the schedule and organize the collection.
-Details of North America #2
・October 1-8 (6 performances)
*October 9th: East Rutherford performance ← This work
・October 10-November 24 (30 performances)
*November 25 “DAYTON 1992”
・November 27: Detroit performance ← *ALIVE III/official footage
・November 28: Indianapolis performance ← *ALIVE III
*November 29th “CLEVELAND 1992” ← *ALIVE III
・November 30-December 20 (14 performances)
… and it looks like this. “ALIVE III” and the soundboard album were recorded at the November show, but the East Rutherford performance of this work is early. It was a concert that was the 7th performance of “North America # 2”.
This is a vacuum-packed version of such a show, and it’s a masterpiece recording that will leave you spellbound by the clearness of the sky and the coolness of the deep bass. It’s not a type that can be mistaken for a sound board because of the tone, but the air is transparent and the core that has a clear outline reaches straight to the hand like a laser beam. The gin base is especially delicious. The striking attack sound is vivid, and the groove is rich. The edge of the guitar is also vivid, but it is very rare to have a recording that captures the bass at the same level.
Another characteristic that you will notice when you get used to the laser beam sound is enthusiasm. This is pretty delicious. The performance sound and vocals are vivid, so they do not get in the way, but in fact they are inhaling thickly. The heat is so exciting that I think it’s the 70’s, and the big chorus is thick. Moreover, the sharpness of the performance sound that is chopped up with spaspa can be felt even more comfortably because of the thick enthusiasm. I’ve dealt with countless audience records of many bands, but I feel like I’ve learned another new interesting thing about customer records.
A full show of the main “North America #2” is depicted with such a thick-sliced sound that seems to slice a chunk of meat. The official symbolic live album “ALIVE III” was an excerpt compilation board, but this work is a full experience board from beginning to end. Let’s organize the set while comparing here.
70’s Classics (12 songs)
・Messenger from Hell: Deuce/Firehouse (★)/Cold Gin (★★)
・Jigoku no Sakebi: Parasite (★)/Watchin’ You/Hotter Than Hell (★)
・Others: Rock And Roll All Nite/Detroit Rock City/Shout It Out Loud (★)/I Want You (★)/Christine Sixteen (★★)/Love Gun (★)
● No makeup era (13 songs)
・Dark Myth: Creatures of the Night / War Machine (★) / I Love It Loud
・Revenge: I Just Wanna/Unholy/Domino/Take It Off/God Gave Rock ‘n’ Roll To You II
・Others: Lick It Up/Heaven’s On Fire/Tears Are Falling (★)/Forever/The Star-Spangled Banner
* Note: “★” marks are songs that are not on the official edition “ALIVE III”. In particular, the “★★” marks are songs that cannot be heard on the soundboard album “CLEVELAND 1992”.
… and it looks like this. Unlike “ALIVE III”, which focused on the no-makeup era, the actual full show has a lot of 70’s repertoires. You can enjoy more colorful and diverse shows. Moreover, the set has undergone minor changes during “North America # 2”, and “Cold Gin” and “Christine Sixteen” that cannot be heard on the sound board masterpiece “CLEVELAND 1992 (Zodiac 475)” at the end of the tour are also shown.
This is the final release of three consecutive releases of famous recordings where you can experience the scene of each leg. If you continue to listen to the three series released at the same time (and even more if you add the final version “CLEVELAND 1992”) in chronological order, you can also enjoy the real pleasure of running the “REVENGE Tour” side by side with KISS. Each one is a masterpiece as a musical work, and the fun spreads remarkably by layering it. A group of masterpieces full of umami because it is an underground. Please enjoy this opportunity to your heart’s content.
* Strong audience recording of “East Rutherford performance on October 9, 1992”. It’s a famous recording that has a clear atmosphere and a clear core that reaches straight to your finger like a laser beam. In fact, the sharpness of the performance sound that cuts and cuts the enthusiasm that is inhaling thickly feels good. You can experience the “REVENGE Tour” with plenty of famous songs that cannot be heard in “ALIVE III”.
