The legendary “Sound Market: Rock in Karuizawa” is also a memorable 1986 Jeff Beck. A valuable recording that allows you to experience the overseas performances, which were rarer than Japan, is now available.
“Performance in Los Angeles on April 19, 1986” is imbued in this work. It is a very thick audience recording recorded at the famous venue “Greek Theater”. Speaking of recordings in the “FLASH” era, only Japanese performances stand out, but that should be it. In fact, there was no world tour accompanying “FLASH”, and it was only Japan that solidified several performances and performed live. On the other hand, it does not mean that “I only live in Japan”. There was no so-called “tour” that repeats moving and stage, but about a month and a half before coming to Japan, we held only one warm-up show. It is such a unique stage that is packed in this work.
For such a precious live performance, I’m grateful to be able to listen to the sound, so it’s important to give priority to the preciousness… I thought, but that’s not the case. Anyway, the thick core roars at the ear with zero sense of distance, and the details are also super fine. The sense of separation is also tremendous, and no matter how intensely the ensembles overlap, they will not mix. To put it simply, it’s “just like a sound board”, and without any prior knowledge, you would have believed it was an FM broadcast.
The reason for such a thick sound is probably… No, it’s definitely the environment. The “Greek Theater” is a famous amphitheater in Los Angeles, an open space with no walls or ceilings. Therefore, the sound emitted from the PA is directly sucked in without any reflection. Of course, outdoors have their drawbacks, and it is not uncommon for sound to be easily washed away and for the distance to be more hollow than it actually is. However, there is no such worry in this work. Whether it was recorded very close to the PA, the surrounding noise is small, and only the umami of outdoor recording is utilized to the maximum.
A full show with a precious “FLASH” number drawn with such an ultra-tight and thick sound. The members are the same five people as the Japanese performance, and in addition to Jeff & Jan Hammer, Simon Phillips, Doug Wimbish, and Jimmy Hall. The set is the same as in Japan, but it’s also a good opportunity, so let’s organize it here.

● Flash (5 songs)

* Note: “★” marks are limited edition songs from 1986.

… and it looks like this. Except for “People Get Ready”, which became a standard after that, all “FLASH” numbers are rare, and the soundtrack song of “Special Investigation Miami Vice” in which Yang participated, and “Wild Thing”, which was released as a single after coming to Japan. showing off.
And it seems that the performance is improving for the first performance in Japan in six years. After all, the live itself was a long time coming for Jeff at that time. It is the first time since the 1983 “ARMS Tour” that he has performed a large number of times, and since the 1980/1981 “THERE & BACK Tour” if it comes to a solo tour. Although there is nothing that will cause bankruptcy, it also blurs the concentration that will be trained to regain the feeling.
The “FLASH” era, which is known for being extremely rare in Jeff’s career. Among them, it is a live album where you can experience the one and only overseas performance with a thick sound. The set and the performance are overflowing with a special feeling that is unparalleled. Please experience it to the fullest.

With a tremendous name recording that goes “as if it were a sound board” on the ground, you can enjoy a delicious full show of the precious “FLASH” number.

Cause We’ve Ended As Lovers/Freeway Jam/Goodbye Pork Pie Hat/Blue Wind/Going Down
The Pump/Star Cycle/You Never Know
Miami Vice New York Theme(★)/Love Will(★)/Miami Vice Theme(★)/Wild Thing
