The stage of the Japan Tour’s premiere performance, the momentum of the 9 performances of Australia-New Zealand that preceded the Japan tour, and the familiar Vinnie at the Crossroad Festival-Ronnie Scotts Club stage. The rhythm of Colaiuta and Tal Wilkenfeld added David Sancious to the essence of the “2009 Beck Band” play. From Jeff Beck’s 2009 Japan tour, the 3rd performance at NHK Hall on 2/9 is recorded on the press CD with the audience recording of the highest quality sound. This is the third product from the XAVEL label press production line “XAVEL Silver Masterpiece Series”. It is a confident work finished in a charming sound that is different from the forum 2 performance that was released earlier. While the Forum 2 performance was produced with a focus on the refreshing mid-low and high-pitched tones, this title is mastered with an emphasis on the natural warmth of the midrange. The difference can be seen in the comfort of Beck’s guitar sound or the wonderfulness of Vinnie Caliuta’s snare leather. For fans who actually visited both venues, I think that it makes sense to make the most of the acoustic characteristics of the forum and NHK hall. .. In the Forum 2 performance, the instrument was located slightly to the left because it was recorded from the seat on the 1st floor of the venue on the 1st floor from the left, but this NHK Hall performance is completely centered, so see it in total balance. Isn’t it possible to say that the recording has the highest quality sound that surpasses the above two titles? If you think “one of the three performances in Tokyo”, I will recommend this title without hesitation, even if you look at the performance of the band (which will be described later). To mention about the content of the performance, the flow of the second day of the forum where “Snake Oil” dropped out and “Space Boogie” set in instead was unchanged, and “Peter Gun’s Theme” was added to the encore last. Regarding the tension and cohesion of the band, it is definitely an exaggeration to say that this day is the highlight of the Tokyo performance, especially Vinnie who shows a different approach every day, if only the audience. The 4th performance from Jeff Beck’s 2009 Japan tour at Pacifico Yokohama on 2/11 is recorded on the press CD as an audience recording with superb sound quality. We performed 3 performances, moved the place from Tokyo to Yokohama, and performed the performance including the turbulence in an ultra-quality finest audience recording, including uncut complete recording including the time of stage interruption. In this work, 24-bit digital remastering is applied to the original audience master recorded from the seat in the center of the front row (although it is slightly leftward to be exact), which is also called the ideal form of audience recording. The live performance of this day is completely reproduced with amazing sound quality. In other words, it is output from the live sound of the band on the stage (a wonderful tone similar to the sound quality of the Kanazawa performance released in CDR from the XAVEL label) and the speaker at the venue or the band monitor on the stage through the mixer. It captures the sound in an exquisite balance, and it is recorded with a tremendous sound quality that only the word perfect can be thought of. The stage of the day when we were forced into a middle stage due to equipment trouble (a noise from the amplifier that is noticeable in “Sad lovers”, but if you listen carefully, you can see the sign already in “The Pump”) However, ironically, Jeff’s guitar play is so clear that if you’re a fan, you’ll definitely be able to enjoy this extremely realistic guitar sound from a Marshall amp at its best. I affirm that you want one. This performance is summarized by the word “accident”, but when asked if it is the worst nightmare stage in a Japanese performance, there is nothing like that. The guitar play itself is wonderful as mentioned above, and it is possible to hear Jeff’s MC which is very rare everywhere, and the wonderful improv jam started as if in response to the predicament. However, the full play of “120% Vinnie Caliuta” seen here is reminiscent of his demon-like hits in Karizma etc., and that Jeff & Tal’s two-person haori-based bass accidentally gave birth. From this point of view, it can be said that the value of this performance is very high.

Jeff Beckの2009年来日ツアーより、2/6の東京国際フォーラム公演を極上音質のオーディエンス録音にてプレスCDに収録。ジャパン・ツアーの封切り公演となったこの日のステージ、来日ツアーに先立っておこなわれたオーストラリア〜ニュージーランド９公演の勢いそのままに、クロスロード・フェス〜ロニー・スコッツ・クラブのステージでもお馴染みのVinnie ColaiutaとTal Wilkenfeldのリズム隊にDavid Sanciousを加えた”2009年度版ベック・バンド”のプレイの神髄を存分に見せつけてくれました。本アイテムでは、この記念すべきステージを会場最前方のスウィート・スポットより収録したオリジナル・マスターに24bitデジタル・リマスタリング処理、全ての楽器が眼前で演奏されているかのような“完璧”としか形容のしようがないウルトラ・クオリティのオーディエンス録音にて完全収録しています。とりわけ、あまりにも生々しいベックのギターの音色と、難解なポリリズムをこれでもかと交えながら驚くべき正確なタイム感でボトムを支えるVinnie Colaiutaの人間離れしたドラム・ワークを、ファン涙モノの粒立ちの良さで収録している点は特筆に値します。来日公演を専門に取り扱うXAVELレーベルが、通常の生産ラインとは別に新設したプレス専門の”Silver Masterpiece Series”、自信を持って送りだされた本作のサウンド・クオリティの高さは想像に難くありません。翌日のフォーラム公演と2/9のNHKホール公演ではセット落ちしてしまった「Snake Oil」はやはり聴き所、しかしながら同じ曲でも日ごとに全く異なった演奏を見せてくれる今回のベック・バンド来日公演は、ファンであれば全公演必聴と言っても過言ではないでしょう！来日ツアー・パンフをモチーフとしたアートワークも秀逸、限定プレスCD２枚組みによるリリースです。

Jeff Beckの2009年来日ツアーより、2/7の東京国際フォーラム公演を極上音質のオーディエンス録音にてプレスCDに収録。前日に引き続き同じ会場でおこなわれた09年来日ツアー２日目のステージ、この日はTal Wilkenfeldのベース・ソロからなだれこむ「Snake Oil」に変わり「Space Boogie」がセットインしたこともあり、開演から終演まで80分強のパフォーマンスとなりました。本アイテムは、メンバーがステージから姿を消しているアンコール待ちの箇所等の不要な部分をカットすることにより、ディスク1枚にコンパクトに収録、非常にリーズナブルな値段設定、それもファンには嬉しいプレス盤によるリリースとなっています。もちろん音質に関しても文句なしの極上音質、XAVELレーベルより同時リリースの「Believe It」（2/6公演）と比べると、どちらも甲乙つけがたい最高の音質なのですが、リマスタリング時に敢えて異なるサウンド・バランスを目指して制作されたため、本作ではVinnie Colaiutaのハイハットさばきや鮮やかな鳴り物の響き等に重点を置いたサウンドとなっています。来日ツアー・パンフをモチーフとしたアートワークも秀逸、限定プレスCDによるリリースです。

Jeff Beckの2009年来日ツアーより、3公演目となる2/9のNHKホールでのライブを、極上音質のオーディエンス録音にてプレスCDに収録。XAVELレーベルのプレス生産ライン”XAVEL Silver Masterpiece Series”からの第3弾商品、先行して発売されるフォーラム2公演とは一味も二味も異なる魅力溢れるサウンドに仕上げられた自信作です。フォーラム２公演がすっきりとした中低音と高音の鮮やかさに主眼をおいて制作されたのに対し、本タイトルでは中音域のナチュラルな温かみのある響きに重点を置いたマスタリングが施されており、ベックのギター音の抜けの気持ちよさ、あるいはヴィニー・カリウタのスネアの革の鳴りの素晴らしさ等にその違いは顕著に見られます。これは、実際に両会場に足を運ばれたファンの方には、とりもなおさずフォーラムとNHKホールそれぞれの音響特性を最大限に生かす理にかなった方向性と感じられるのではないでしょうか。フォーラム２公演では会場1階シングル列のやや左よりの席からの録音であったため、楽器の定位が若干左寄りでしたが、このNHKホール公演は完全なセンター定位ですので、トータル・バランスで見ても前述２タイトルを凌駕するほどの極上音質による収録といえるのではないでしょうか。「東京３公演でどれか１枚」とお考えでしたら、（後述しますが）バンドのパフォーマンスの充実振りからいっても、迷わず本タイトルを推薦します。演奏内容に関して触れておくと、「Snake Oil」がセット落ちし代わりに「Space Boogie」がセットインするというフォーラム二日目の流れは変わらず、アンコール・ラストに「Peter Gun’s Theme」が追加されています。バンドのテンションとまとまりに関しては、間違いなくこの日が東京公演のハイライトといっても過言ではない素晴らしさで、中でも日替わりで異なったアプローチを見せてくれるヴィニーの叩きっぷりには、観客のみならずバンド・メンバーまでもが圧倒されたほどです。

Jeff Beckの2009年来日ツアーより、4公演目となる2/11のパシフィコ横浜でのライブを、極上音質のオーディエンス録音にてプレスCDに収録。3公演をこなし、東京から横浜に場所を移しておこなわれた波乱含みのパフォーマンスを、ウルトラ・クオリティの極上オーディエンス録音にて、ステージ中断の時間を含めてノーカット完全収録しています。本作には、会場フロント・ロウほぼ中央の席（正確にはやや左寄りですが）から録音されたオリジナル・オーディエンス・マスターに24bitデジタル・リマスタリングを施しており、オーディエンス録音の理想形とでもよぶべき驚愕の音質でこの日のライブを完全に再現しています。すなわち、ステージ上のバンドのリアルな生音（XAVELレーベルよりCDRで発売された金沢公演の音質と同様の素晴しい音色です）と、ミキサーを通して会場のスピーカーあるいはステージ上のバンド用モニターから出力される音を、これ以上はない絶妙のバランスで捉えており、正に完璧という言葉しか思い浮かばない凄まじいまでのサウンド・クオリティによる収録となっています。機材トラブル（「悲しみの恋人たち」で顕著になるアンプからのノイズですが、注意深く聴けば「The Pump」で既にその兆候が見られます）による中座を強いられることとなったこの日のステージですが、皮肉にもジェフのギター・プレイは冴えわたっているので、マーシャル・アンプからのあまりにもリアルなギター音を最高の音質で楽しむことが出来る本作は、ファンであれば絶対におさえていただきたい1枚と断言します。“アクシデント”という言葉に集約される本公演ですが、日本公演中最悪の悪夢のステージかと問われれば、全くそんなことはありません。ギター・プレイ自体は前述した通り素晴しいものであり、また非常に珍しいジェフのMCを随所に聴くことが出来るという点、そしてその窮地に呼応するかのごとく開始されたインプロ・ジャムの素晴しさ、ここで見られる“120%ヴィニー・カリウタ”の全開プレイはKarizma等における彼の鬼神の如き叩きっぷりを彷彿させるものであり、ジェフ＆タルによる二人羽織ベースが偶然にも産声をあげたと言う点でも、本公演の価値は非常に高いものといえるでしょう。
