Jeff Beck / L.A. 2010: Night of Emotion / 2CDR / Uxbridge
Live at Nokia Theatre, Los Angeles, CA, USA 17th April 2010
The era of “EMOTION & COMMOTION”, which was the largest tour in a variety of solo careers. A full live album that can be said to be a complete version of the official work “LIVE AND EXCLUSIVE FROM THE GRAMMY MUSEUM” is now available.
“Performance in Los Angeles on April 17, 2010” is imbued in this work. It is a superb audience recording that vacuum-packed the whole story. Speaking of 2010, not only the two official live albums “LIVE AND EXCLUSIVE” and “ROCK & ROLL PARTY: HONORING LES PAUL”, but also the sound board album “LUCCA SUMMER FESTIVAL 2010 (Uxbridge 1842)” will be released at the same time this week. First, let’s organize the positional relationship of each work from the schedule at the time.

This is Jeff Beck in 2010. “EMOTION & COMMOTION” was released during the visit to Japan, but immediately after that, a full-scale US tour was carried out. This work corresponds to the second performance of “North America # 1” which will be the beginning. The official work “LIVE AND EXCLUSIVE” was also left from this “North America # 1”, but this work was also the most recent concert five days before that.
This work recorded at such a show is truly a superb audience. The core is very thick and powerful, and each instrument has a vivid sense of separation, and the contours are delicate down to the smallest details. It’s not so close as to be mistaken for a sound board, but it’s just a matter of natural tones, and the more you concentrate, the more details emerge endlessly. It’s going to be like.
Moreover, this work is the highest peak update board of such a famous recording. The original sound of the net has been refined with meticulous mastering, and the vividness and the density of the feeling of being empty are also up. I didn’t make any major modifications, but the individuality of the recording itself seemed to be suitable for remastering, and just a little correction improved the listening experience. In fact, even at that time, it was very popular as “exactly the audience recording of the ultimate song” and “super sound of great exception”. Although it was not made into a press immediately after the performance in Japan, it was loved as a press-class daimyo board.
A full show that can be said to be the perfect form of “LIVE AND EXCLUSIVE”, which was half-finished, is depicted with such superb sound. Let’s organize the set while comparing it with the official work.
● A song that overlaps with the official “LIVE AND EXCLUSIVE”
・Emotion and Commotion: Corpus Chisti Carol/Hammerhead/Over the Rainbow/Nessun Dorma
・Other: People Get Ready/Brush With The Blues/A Day In The Life/How High The Moon
● Songs that cannot be heard on the official “LIVE AND EXCLUSIVE”
・You Had It Coming: Rollin’ and Tumblin’/Never Alone (★)/Dirty Mind (★)
・70s-90s: Led Boots/Big Block/Blast From the East (★)/Angel (Footsteps) (★)
・After 2000: Eternity’s Breath/Stratus/Mna Na Heireann/I Want To Take You Higher
* Note: “★” marks are songs that are not included in the soundboard album “LUCCA SUMMER FESTIVAL 2010” released at the same time.
… and it looks like this. While “LIVE AND EXCLUSIVE” was only 8 songs, this work has 19 songs (+ each solo). It also includes 4 repertoire songs that can not be heard even in “LUCCA SUMMER FESTIVAL 2010” released at the same time this week, and it is a large volume of full set recording. And the performance is really wonderful. Overall, it feels close to the performance in Japan, but it has been further refined. As a result, it became a different day from the official live work, but the spirit of making a live album seems to seep out from every corner of the phrase.
This is a masterpiece live album that was overlooked in 2010, when attention was focused on the recording in Japan that had just finished. A press-grade product that allows you to experience the full show that you couldn’t experience at “LIVE AND EXCLUSIVE” or “LUCCA SUMMER FESTIVAL 2010”. Now that the era of “EMOTION & COMMOTION” is being re-evaluated, this is a reprint of a masterpiece that we would like you to experience.
★ The best audience recording of “April 17, 2010 Los Angeles performance” five days before the official live work “LIVE AND EXCLUSIVE”. The core is very thick and powerful, and the separation of each instrument is vivid, and the contours are delicate down to the fine details. It is a masterpiece that allows you to enjoy the full set of “LIVE AND EXCLUSIVE”, which was only 8 songs, with the finest sound.
