LET THE CAT OUT OF THE BAG? It is a live sound source by a band that added a spiritual diva, Queen Esther, to a trio called “Black Rock Experience”. Although it is an audience recording, it is recorded very well. In the second half, I was worried about the whistling of the excited audience in a few places, so I pinpointed the volume. However, if you turn the back, it is proof that it was a good performance. Ulmer is also known for playing a somewhat difficult-to-understand jazz-oriented harmolodic guitar, but this live is relatively easy to understand and has a taste of blues and soul. Still, his unique style of guitar is unique and worth listening to. In addition, since the sound board sound source of the same tour by the same members has been released from the same label, beginners should start there first.
ジェームス・ブラッド・ウルマーの“ブラック・ロック・エクスペリエンス”と名乗ったトリオにスピリチュアルなディーヴァ、クイーン・エスターを加えたバンドによるライヴ音源です。オーディエンス収録ですが非常に良く録れています。後半テンションの乗ったオーディエンスによる口笛が数か所だけ気になっていたためピンポイントでヴォリュームを絞ってあります。しかし、裏を返せばそれだけゴキゲンな演奏であったという証。ウルマーはやや分かりづらいジャズ寄りの演奏ハーモロディック・ギターでも知られますが、このライヴは比較的分かりやすい内容でどちらかと言うとブルースやソウルと言った趣。それでも独自のスタイルのギターは唯一無二で聴きごたえ充分。尚、同メンバーによる同ツアーのサウンドボード音源が同レーベルよりリリースされている為、初心者の方はまずそちらから入るの良いでしょう。
