The hero, Ronnie James Dio, has unearthed a new original recording of the world’s first public release that tells the last Japanese performance of his life. Introduced in Permanent Storage Press 2CD.
The last show is “October 25, 2007: Nagoya City Auditorium” performance. It was a performance tour to Japan in the BLACK SABBATH reorganization project “HEAVEN & HELL” with Tony Iomi and Geiser Butler. Our store archives a memorial tour with the finest masterpiece recording. First, let’s organize the collection by schedule.

Above, all 4 performances. I came to Japan as the headliner of “LOUD PARK 07”, but I also performed alone in Tokyo and Nagoya. This work is a live album on the last day. And this is the last live-in-Japan event on Ronnie. It was the last night of all 58 performances, including BLACK SABBATH/DIO, 31 years after RAINBOW first came to Japan in 1976.
The sound recorded in this memorial scene is also excellent. After all, this work was recorded by Mr. “West Japan’s strongest taper” who is a virtuoso who has no one on the right who took HR / HM. At the moment, there is no hope of visiting the outside of Japan because it is in the middle of the new Corona Pandemic, but it is a treasured collection that was put out to endure the difficult situation. In fact, it was an early work that was recorded by “Mr. Saito” for personal use at the time, but the sound is similar to that of today’s masterpieces.
The most wonderful thing is the direct feeling of the powerful and robust core. Compared to the current “strongest” Mr. recording that makes me wonder, “Where is the audience?” Super clear (of course the cheers are much smaller than the normal audience standard). Ronnie is in close contact as if he were singing in front of him, and Iomi and Geezer felt the vibration of the strings. And Vinnie Apis. Anyway, the sound of the snare tends to be light in the audience recording, but this work is dense and has a great response. Moreover, even though it is so powerful, it never gets scared. In terms of the luster of the sound, it is a type of direct sound called “a sound board” rather than “a beautiful sound unique to a customer record.”
The last full show in Japan is drawn with such a close contact sound. The Osaka performance became a short set due to a partition mistake (you can enjoy it in “LOUD PARK 07 OSAKA (Shades 1156)” which is also the initial “strongest” Mr. collection), but Nagoya is a single performance And a full set. Here, let’s organize while comparing with Osaka.

…And this is how it looks. It is a culmination of Ronnie Sabbath, but the fact that “this is the last” that exudes from each song is more important. Is “Heaven and Hell” particularly interesting? It is a masterpiece that develops up-tempo at the last, but a mic trouble happened there on that day. It is often said that Ronny threw a microphone at the scene without throwing away irritation, but it was the audience who saved the trouble. “Hey! Hey!” gets excited, and instead of Ronnie’s microphone, which repeats appearing and disappearing, a chorus occurs. And at the end of the song, the main chorus of the main riff by Ronnie and the audience who revived!　Because trouble has occurred, you can witness a dramatic big circle with a superb sound.

With this show, the history of Ronnie and Japan has come to an end, and after about 2 years and 9 months, he became a person who will never return. Not to mention Ronnie himself, no one should know that this is the last day. Even if I knew that, the cheers of “Ronnie!” This work is a musical work that you can enjoy a wonderful show with the best sound, but I can’t stop feeling more than that. ★Ronnie James Dio’s last performance in Japan

英雄ロニー・ジェイムズ・ディオ生涯最後の日本公演を伝える世界初公開のオリジナル録音が新発掘。永久保存プレス２CDで登場です。
そのラスト・ショウとは「2007年10月25日：名古屋市公会堂」公演。トニー・アイオミやギーザー・バトラーとのBLACK SABBATH再編プロジェクト“HEAVEN & HELL”での来日公演でした。当店では、メモリアルなツアーを極上の傑作録音でアーカイヴ。まずは、日程でコレクションを整理してみましょう。

以上、全４公演。”LOUD PARK 07”のヘッドライナーとして来日したわけですが、東京・名古屋では単独公演も実施。本作はその最終日のライヴアルバムです。そして、この日こそが正真正銘ロニー最後のライヴ・イン・ジャパン。1976年のRAINBOW初来日から31年、BLACK SABBATH／DIOも含めて全58公演に及んだ最後の一夜なのです。
あまりにもメモリアルな現場で記録された本作は、サウンドも絶品。何しろ、本作を記録したのはHR/HMを撮らせた右に出る者はない名手中の名手”西日本最強テーパー”氏。現在、新型コロナ・パンデミックの渦中にあって外タレの来日など望みようもないわけですが、その苦境を耐え抜くべく蔵出しされた秘蔵コレクションなのです。実のところ、当時はまだの”最強”氏も個人用に録音していた初期の作品なのですが、そのサウンドは現在の名作にも通じるもの。
何よりも素晴らしいのは力強くたくましい芯のダイレクト感。「観客はどこ!?」と不思議になる現在の”最強”氏録音に比べるとリアルな熱狂も吸い込んではいますが、それを制圧しきる演奏音には距離など微塵も感じられず、微細部まで超鮮明（もちろん声援も普通のオーディエンス基準よりは遥かにささやかです）。ロニーは目の前で歌っているように密着しており、アイオミ＆ギーザーは弦の振動が感じられるほど。そして、ヴィニー・アピス。とかくオーディエンス録音はスネアの鳴りが軽くなりがちですが、本作は密度たっぷりでズッシリとした手応えが凄い。しかも、そこまで強力でありながら、まったくビビらない。鳴りの艶からすると「客録ならではの美音」というよりは「まるでサウンドボード」と呼ぶタイプのダイレクト・サウンドなのです。
そんな密着サウンドで描かれるのは、日本最後のフルショウ。大阪公演は仕切りのミスでショート・セットになってしまいました（同じく初期”最強”氏コレクションでもある『LOUD PARK 07 OSAKA（Shades 1156）』でお楽しみいただけます）が、名古屋は単独公演とあってフルセット。ここでは大阪と比較しながら整理してみましょう。

……と、このようになっています。まさにロニー・サバスの集大成なわけですが、それ以上に１曲１曲から滲み出す「これが最後」という歴史の事実が重い。特に面白いのが「Heaven and Hell」でしょうか。ラストでアップテンポに展開する名曲ですが、この日はそこでまさかのマイクトラブルが発生。現場ではロニーも苛立ちを隠さずにマイクを放り投げたことが語り継がれていたりもしますが、そのトラブルを救ったのは観客。「Hey！Hey！」と盛り上げ、出たり消えたりを繰り返すロニーのマイクに代わって唱和が巻き起こる。そして、曲の最後は復活したロニーと観客によるメインリフの大合唱！　トラブルが起きたからこその劇的な大団円も極上サウンドで立ち会えるのです。

このショウをもってロニーと日本の歴史は終わりを告げ、この約２年９ヶ月後には帰らぬ人となりました。ロニー自身はもちろんのこと、誰もこの日が最後とは知るはずもない。そう分かっていても、別れを惜しんで巻き起こる「ロニー！」の声援が胸を締め付けるのです。本作はあくまでも素晴らしいショウを極上サウンドで楽しめる音楽作品ではあるのですが、それ以上の感慨が止まらない。二度とは戻らない”最後の夜”を封じ込めたメモリアル・アルバム。どうぞ、永久保存プレス２CDで心ゆくまで噛み締めてください。
