The most important live album along with “” DON’T FUCKIN’KILL EACH OTHER “” has been brushed up. This is the birth of a press CD that has been permanently preserved through high-definition mastering of “GRAF ZEPPELIN”.
The most important work was “June 22, 1987 London performance”. A superb audience recording recorded by the legendary “Marquee Club”. This is 1987 GUNS N’ROSES. They raised the signal of the revolution with the release of the single “It’s So Easy” prior to the album, and immediately after that, they went to the UK and held the first overseas performance of Marquee for 3 days. Three songs were recorded in “LIVE FROM THE JUNGLE”, but that was the last day. This work is a different live album on the second day. At that time, only the legendary EP “LIVE?! * @ LIKE A SUICIDE” was released, but the legendary travel to England has become the cover of “KERRANG!” Magazine due to its huge previous reputation. It was a moment when the times began to swell and move.
In such a historic stage, the recorded sound source itself is also historic. It has been widely known as a legend for a long time, but the decisive board was “MARQUEE 1987 2ND NIGHT” that appeared five years ago. Based on the longest all-track master discovered by the Langley label, the beginning of the first unrecorded song “Shadow Of Your Love” and the scene waiting for an encore are complemented by another recording by “Crazy S.”. It was the first live album where you can fully experience the legendary show without a second of skiing. Due to its epoch-making content and the highest sound quality ever, “MARQUEE 1987 2ND NIGHT” was sold out and out of print in a blink of an eye. It has become an illusion of the 21st century.
Of course, the live album, which is a cultural heritage of rock, cannot be left out of print. Initially, it was planned to be pressed straight for the 2nd, but since it was a great opportunity, the latest mastering by “GRAF ZEPPELIN” was also carried out. It was decided to be reprinted as the latest edition that was even more ultimate.
In fact, the sound is the highest peak in history. If you have experienced the previous edition “MARQUEE 1987 2ND NIGHT”, you probably know the superb sound, but that bold and straightforward performance sound is even more accurate. “GRAF ZEPPELIN” mastering does not earn unreasonable sound pressure, but adheres to the basics such as pitch / phase correction and noise processing. However, it is highly evaluated for its unusually high accuracy. Even in this work, high-frequency noise (around 15khz), such as whether or not it can be heard, is processed neatly, and the localization is set in the center by pursuing up to 1/1000 second. Furthermore, balance adjustment by frequency analysis, correction of running unevenness of tape, etc. To tell the truth, the original is too terrible, so it’s not like “it’s a different thing”, but it’s the supreme sound with the beauty of poking around from corner to corner of the heavy box.

これが1987年のGUNS N’ ROSES。アルバムに先立つシングル『It’s So Easy』の発売で革命の狼煙を挙げた彼らは、直後に渡英して初の海外公演となるマーキー３日間を実施。その模様は『LIVE FROM THE JUNGLE』に３曲が収録されましたが、それは最終日。本作はそれとは異なる２日目のライヴアルバムです。当時は伝説EP『LIVE ?!*@ LIKE A SUICIDE』くらいしか出していなかったわけですが、巨大な前評判によって『KERRANG!』誌の表紙にまでなってしまった伝説の渡英。まさに時代がうねりを上げて動き出した刹那だったのです。
そんな歴史的なステージは、記録された音源自体も歴史的。古くから広く伝説として知られて来たのですが、その決定盤となったのが５年前に登場した『MARQUEE 1987 2ND NIGHT』でした。Langleyレーベルが発掘した最長の全曲マスターをベースにしつつ、録音されていなかった１曲目の「Shadow Of Your Love」冒頭部分やアンコール待ちのシーンを“Crazy S.”氏の別録音で補完。伝説のショウを１秒のスキもなく完全体験できる初のライヴアルバムでした。その画期的な内容と過去最高のサウンドクオリティより、『MARQUEE 1987 2ND NIGHT』は瞬く間に完売・廃盤。21世紀の幻と化してしまいました。
もちろん、ロックの文化遺産そのものなライヴアルバムを廃盤のままにしておくわけにはいかない。当初はそのままストレートに2ndプレスされる予定だったのですが、せっかくの機会でもあるため、「GRAF ZEPPELIN」による最新マスタリングも実施。究極をさらに極めた最新盤として復刻されることになったのです。
実際、そのサウンドは史上最高峰。前回盤『MARQUEE 1987 2ND NIGHT』を体験された方なら超極上のサウンドをご存知と思いますが、あの骨太＆ド直球な演奏音がさらに精度アップしている。「GRAF ZEPPELIN」マスタリングは無闇矢鱈な音圧稼ぎなどは行わず、ピッチ／位相の修正やノイズ処理といった基本に忠実。ただし、その精度が異様に高いことで高評価を受けています。本作でも聴き取れるかどうかといった高周波ノイズ（15khz付近）まで綺麗に処理され、1/1000秒まで追究して位相補整によって定位もビシッとセンターに整っている。さらに周波数分析によるバランス調整、テープの走行ムラの補整などなど。実のところ、元が凄すぎるので「まるで別物」とまではいかないのですが、重箱の隅から隅まで針先でつつき回したような美しさが行き届いた至高のサウンドなのです。
そんなハイエンド・サウンドで描かれるのは、世界に先駆けて英国のロック野郎共をノックアウトした伝説のフルショウ。ここで、そのセットも整理しておきましょう。
