GENESIS in 1986 reigned at the top of the scene with the astronomical hit of “INVISIBLE TOUCH”. A superb video that allows you to experience the scene is now available.
This work was filmed at “October 1, 1986 Madison Square Garden (MSG) Performance”. It is the superb view audience shot. Speaking of the “INVISIBLE TOUCH Tour” video, the official “LIVE AT WEMBLEY STADIUM” is a symbol, and our professional shot “MONTREUX 1987: THE VIDEO (Amity 637)” is also a classic. First of all, let’s look back at the whole view of the peak tour and check the positional relationship of each.

● 1986
《“INVISIBLE TOUCH” released on June 6》
・September 18-October 24: North America #1 (29 performances) ← Coco
・ November 23-December 20: Oceania (19 performances)
● 1987
・ January 15-March 1: North America # 2 (25 performances)
・ March 13-19: Japan (6 performances)
・ May 10-19: Europe # 1 (6 performances) ← * MONTREUX 1987
・May 22-31: North America #3 (7 performances)
・ June 2-July 4: Europe #2 (20 performances) ← * Official footage

This is the 1986/1987 GENESIS. Both the official “LIVE AT WEMBLEY STADIUM” and “MONTREUX 1987: THE VIDEO” were in Europe in the latter half of the tour, but this work is the North American edition in the beginning. It was the 11th concert. Also, usually MSG is a big venue that is once in a tour, but the “INVISIBLE TOUCH Tour” realizes five consecutive nights. In addition, Philadelphia’s “The Spectrum” for four consecutive nights, Los Angeles for “The Forum” for five consecutive nights, London’s “Wembley Stadium” for four consecutive nights, etc., swept large venues around the world. It was a super huge tour that was transmitted from the schedule to the tremendous popularity.
Aside from that, this work, which lets you experience such a climax scene, is an unbelievable superb view in the 80’s. It is taken from the stand seat on the right side of the stage, but the field of view without obstructions is wide open, and the sense of stability that is sharp while chasing the highlights is also wonderful. It’s a visual beauty that makes you say nothing, but this is shocking considering the historical background. After all, it was only in the 1980s that “full audience shots” became possible due to the development of video cameras (in the 1970s, full-length shooting was impossible because it was 8 mm). Even in 1986, cameras were still large, and photography know-how was still developing. In the first place, there were limited places where even if you filmed, as it is now, and it was not possible for “photographers to learn from each other’s images”. In retrospect, we live in an era full of restrictions, and photography techniques that are still relevant today are being used.
It took a long time due to the advanced technology, but the freshness of the master is just as amazing. Although it is clearly a video shooting image quality, there are no dubbing marks, tape twists and white line noise are not found. This is also an unbelievable state of preservation for a huge amount of time of more than 35 years.
With such historical visual beauty that transcends time and space, you can experience a full show right in the middle of its climax. The set is also different from “LIVE AT WEMBLEY STADIUM”, so let’s organize it while comparing.

Invisible touch
・Land Of Confusion/Domino/In Too Deep(★)/The Brazilian/Tonight, Tonight, Tonight/Throwing It All Away/Invisible Touch
●Others
・Genesis: Mama/That’s All/Home By The Sea/Second Home By The Sea
・CAGE Medley [★: In The Cage/…In That Quiet Earth/Supper’s Ready (Apocalypse in 9/8)] ・Others: Abacab/Follow You Follow Me (★)/Drum Duet/Los Endos/Turn It On Again
* Note: “★” marks are songs that were not seen in the official video “LIVE AT WEMBLEY STADIUM”.

… and it looks like this. There is also the fact that “LIVE AT WEMBLEY STADIUM” was incompletely recorded, but the set itself is different in the first place. “Follow You Follow Me”, which was not played in the second half of the tour, will also be shown, and the CAGE medley also incorporates “Supper’s Ready (Apocalypse in 9/8 part)”. And more than that is the new song “In Too Deep”. A rare song that has not been played until now after dropping the set in “North America # 2”. Furthermore, by playing this song, she has performed all songs of “INVISIBLE TOUCH” other than “Anything She Does”. In other words, this work also includes “INVISIBLE TOUCH to see with your eyes”.
And the enthusiasm of the scene is also noteworthy. Although the powerful live performance does not give up the leading role, you can also feel the sense of place that springs up in the rush of hit songs. The joy that boils in the intro to guess the next song, the chorus of 10,000 units that boils with the chorus of the hit song, and the roar that is thrown at every move of Phil Collins. Just to be sure, there are almost no harsh voices of nearby guests in this work. However, you can enjoy the big wave spectacle of joy that rushes from afar and shakes the huge venue.
Then, the climax of the mood breaks through the final blockbuster song “Invisible Touch”. A female fan bursts into the stage here. She hugs Phil as he sings and kisses him passionately. The song was blown away by a sudden happening, but the venue was a furious excitement. It is a scene where the popularity of GENESIS at that time, which was exactly like an idol, stands out clearly.
“Exactly the climax.” A true darling of the times. A cultural heritage video where you can experience the moment when GENESIS was at the top of the world with a special seat. With a quality that transcends time and space, this is a piece that revives the sense of the era. Please enjoy it to your heart’s content.

ツアー後半では演奏しなかった「Follow You Follow Me」も披露されますし、CAGEメドレーも「Supper’s Ready(のApocalypse in 9/8パート)」が組み込まれている。
