I think that many people remember the pattern from the TV broadcast and the official work “WHO’S THAT GIRL: LIVE IN JAPAN”, but this work is a completely different performance. 以上、全４公演。「雨天中止」という言葉自体に濃厚な時代感が漂うスケジュールです。オフィシャル映像『WHO’S THAT GIRL』は最終日の後楽園でしたが、本作は真逆のジャパンツアー初日。そして日本は“WHO’S THAT GIRL WORLD Tour”のキックオフ地でもありましたので、まさにワールドツアーの初日でもあった。もっと言えば、３ヶ月後のマイケル・ジャクソンと合わせて「MM旋風」とも呼ばれたものですが、本作はその最初の春一番でもあったのです。
そんな伝説の初日を真空パックした本作は、眩しいほどのクリア・サウンド。いかにも日本洋楽シーンらしいビシッと揃った手拍子も吸い込んでいるのでサウンドボードと間違える事はありませんが、その空気感はクリスタル・クリアに透き通り、そのド真ん中を演奏と歌声が真っ直ぐに届く。その芯はしっかりと手応えたっぷりで、ディテールも鮮明。巨大な“大阪スタヂアム”だけに距離感ゼロは行きませんが、だからと言って遠さも感じないのです。特に鮮やかなのは、まだ20代だった主役マドンナの歌声。厚いコーラスが被っても混じり合わず、「コンバンワ。ミンナ待ッテル」「一緒ニオトウト……踊ッテ！」などの日本語MCも一語一語まではっきりと聴き取れるのです。

The main press 2CD is an amazing new excavation live album left by a legendary master. 本編プレス２CDは、伝説名手が残した驚異の新発掘ライヴアルバム。35年の日本に充満していた「洋楽」の薫りがスピーカーから吹き出すドキュメント・アルバムの大名盤です。その誕生を祝うボーナスには、当時を「光景」でも教えてくれるプロショット集をご用意しました。
そんな本作に収められているのは全13種に及ぶTV放送。ワイドショーやニュース番組などで扱われたマドンナ初来日コーナーを集成したプロショット集です。13種とは言っても１つひとつは数十秒から数分のミニ・コーナーであり、短いからこそマドンナの要素を濃縮して紹介するので超濃厚。当時の日本にとってマドンナがどんな存在だったのか、その初来日がいかに巨大な衝撃だったのかを生々しく活写しているのです。
また、13種の映像もざっくり３つに大別できる。それぞれご紹介していきましょう。

●６月11日：大阪空港溶着（５種）
まず登場するのは、大物外タレ来日の風物詩。空港の到着シーン。当日の大阪空港には300人の報道陣やガードマン160人の他、2000人のファンも終結。凄まじい騒ぎとなりました。ここでは懐かしの番組「テレポート６」を筆頭にした５種のワイドショーのミニ特集を収録しています。
マドンナ到着と共に走り出してすっ転んだり、マドンナの動線・予定を完全に把握している洋楽女子も登場する。そんな映像に被せられるキャスター達のコメントもスゴい時代感。「大変なフィーバーぶり」「そんなに人気者なんですか？」「おへそ丸出しギンギンの衣装」などなど。「４年前にデビューしたばかりの26歳」と紹介したりもするのですが、本当は「28歳」。微妙なサバ読みまでもが懐かしの文化です。

●６月14日：大阪公演初日（５種）
続いてのセクションは、本編プレス２CDが記録された初日「６月14日：大阪スタヂアム」公演のレポート。影響中以上の様子や（細切れながら）当日の貴重なプロショットが観られるのですが、驚きなのは現場の局スタッフが撮影したと思しきオーディエンス・ショットまで登場する。手ブレしまくりでマドンナの下半身をズームするアホなアングルも含め、撮影してTV放送できてしまった時代の大らかさが衝撃です。
さらに大らかなのが「怪我人１人が出たほかは大きな混乱はありませんでした」なるナレーション。ケガ人を出しておいて、まるで「そんなの大したことない：と言わんばかりのノリ。生々しい救急車の搬送シーンも出てくるのですが……。
極めつけなのが場外のダフ屋。警備員を前に「おまわりちゃうんか？」と言ってしまったり、テロップ付きで「１枚最低でも３万円台や。どないや、はっきりしてや」と交渉していたり（顔にボカシも入れていません）。そんなシーンを全国ネットのニュース番組で流してしまうとは。35年という時間の大きさを実感します。

●それ以降：東京へ（３種）
最後は「大阪から東京への移動」をテーマにした２種と海外放送１種。一番の見どころは、オフの喧騒と皇居でのジョギングを特集した番組でしょうか。大阪公演と東京公演の合間には京都観光もしたそうですが、移動に使っていたロールスロイスの爆走が衝撃的。群衆から逃れるためなのは分かりますが、街頭にはファンが詰まっているのにそのド真ん中を60キロくらいで駆け抜ける。もしファンが押し出されようものなら避けられる速度ではなく、確実にひき殺していたに違いない……。
そしてトドメが「激撮!!　マドンナIN東京」。皇居周辺でジョギングするマドンナをアポなしで追いかけて撮影しているのですが、完全にそれだけ。伴走するコーチがカメラを拒否してもメゲずに追って追って追いまくり、マドンナ本人から「バカ！」「Fuck you ass hole!!」と罵られても追い続ける。カメラはブレブレ、「はぁはぁ」という息切れも隠す気ゼロ。しまいには「追いつかねぇよ」と愚痴ってタクシーを捕まえ、「まっすぐ行ってください。黒いの……着てるの……いますから」とドライバーに頼んでいる。スタッフによる「こんな事までして撮っちゃった！」を無邪気に放送しているわけですが、やってることは完全に迷惑系ユーチューバーです。

まさに現象。1987年の一大事件だったマドンナ初来日の薫りが画面から吹き出す映像集です。本編プレス２CDはコンサート会場のドキュメントでしたが、本作は日本全体のドキュメント。35年前の洋楽全盛時代を見事に甦らせてくれる極上セット。併せてたっぷりと味わえるチャンスをお見逃しなく！
