[Furthermore, the definitive edition of the 2011 RAH performance is also available for the first time! ]
In addition to the “Royal Albert Hall 2009 9th Night DAT Master”, another superb DAT master that was unveiled for the first time was brought from the British-based heavyweight taper who is familiar with Clapton’s sound source. May 21, 2011, Royal Albert Hall, London, 11-day continuous performance The 4th day of the finest DAT master, recorded by a friend of the same heavyweight Taper. This was also a complete recording of a superb stereo audience recording that was flawless, comparable to a good soundboard recording. This level of quality is recommended not only for Clapton enthusiasts but also for general rock fans. This time, we will release the definitive version of RAH performance with the highest quality in 2009 and 2011, but since both are of the highest quality, there are people who are worried about “Which one should I choose?” Then, our shop has no choice but to say with confidence. “Both are recommended.” Anyway, both works are wonderful recordings with no cloudiness and no trouble. In addition to that, Clapton usually doesn’t change the setlist much at intervals of about two years, but the setlists are quite different between 2009 and 2011, and even songs that were set in both performances. If they are completely different, I have no choice but to recommend both. Above all, the play of Clapton contained in these is wonderful.
[Attractiveness unique to the performance immediately after the release of the new studio album! ]Clapton released a new studio album that was almost like a cover album the previous year. In Clapton’s words, it is a collection of songs selected from “Mental Juke Box”. As a result, a new song will be unveiled on this tour. Now, let’s look back on the history of Clapton’s activities in 2011.

You can see that it was the year when we performed a lot of related events and charity concerts that reflected a wide range of personal connections while properly touring the world with the release of the new album. It was an activity situation that could only be said to be energetic. It can be seen that he was knocked down by the release of the new studio album. The Japan tour later this year was a joint with Steve Winwood. Considering the rehearsals of each tour, it seems that there was no choice but to do a live concert. And the characteristic of the RAH performance captured in this work is that the guitarist was Clapton alone. I didn’t dare to prepare a second guitarist. For this reason, the weight of guitar play on Clapton is naturally high. Given that the performance was prepared for that, I think that fans will naturally want to listen to it. The number from the up-and-coming new album was When Somebody Thinks You’re Wonderful one song with a slightly open-minded impression, but since the tour that I could listen to was only the previous year and this year, this alone must be valuable. However, in reality, there was a deeper number that reflected Clapton’s intentions.
[One-of-a-kind set list and song arrangement]At first glance, you might think, “Isn’t it close to the usual concert?” From the opening, but in fact, it was a series of surprises from the opening Key To The Highway. The intro of this song was an arrangement of “Live version of the Derek & The Dominos era” that was practiced from the middle of the 2006 Japan tour. The reason why the arrangement was changed from the orthodox intro to this arrangement at the time of the 2006 Japan Tour was that a Japanese fan joined Derek Trucks who was in the band at that time, and Duane Allman jumped into Dominos. When I presented the boot leg of the 70’s Tampa performance, Derek let Clapton listen to it, and Clapton liked the intro of this song that was recorded there, and immediately rehearsed with the band and immediately from the next performance. I played with this arrangement. Did Clapton suddenly remember that at this point five years later? The truth is a mystery, but it’s a valuable take to listen to in this intro version. In addition, Going Down Slow is also included in the set in the simultaneous release of “Royal Albert Hall 2009 9th Night DAT Master”, but the rhythm pattern is completely different. The intro is also different. And the following Hoochie Coochie Man is completely different from the rhythm pattern that is always played. Instead of the usual pattern of the solid rhythm of “back glue”, it is played with the rhythm of “front glue”. This is also interesting! Also, Tim Carmon’s solo in Old Love is played with the rhythm of the famous “Bolero” of the classical composer label, and the difference from the 2009 tour is remarkable. And the ultimate is the aftermath of I Shot The Sheriff, who returned to the set on this tour. Clapton’s solo is awesome! There are some dangerous scenes such as back-to-back with Mistone, but anyway, I’m playing with my fingers open. This is a take that you definitely want to hear. With this song, I once separated the stage and moved to the acoustic set, but here I am showing two new songs, Still Got The Blues and Same Old Blues. The former is Gary Moore’s number, set in memory of Moore, who died earlier this year, and Clapton is playing his own acoustic arrangements, as opposed to Moore’s version, which was played electric. This is very exciting again. After the performance, Clapton calls “Gary Moore!”. In retrospect, when I had a concert in Ireland during the Cream era, a 14-year-old boy appeared at a club where three members were drinking at night and asked for a sign. When the boy said he was playing the guitar, Jack Bruce encouraged him to “do his best.” There was an episode that the boy was happy to go home. This boy was Gary Moore. Clapton’s heart may have had a passionate and lonely feeling for Moore, who returned to the blues in his later years. And the latter was the cover of J.J. Kale. Clapton’s own work also has a number with the same name, but it was probably inspired by Kale to write the song in the first place. Here, I sing with a longing for Kale. The second half is the usual royal road line, but it is rare to play Tearing Us Apart after a long time. Clapton’s solo is sharp in both Badge and this song. In addition, a solo at Little Queen Of Spades … I have no words anymore.
If you listen to it in this way, you can see that the set list and performance are quite different, although it is a sound source with an interval of only 2 years from the simultaneous release “Royal Albert Hall 2009 9th Night DAT Master”. .. The sound quality of both works is the best stereo audience recording, and it is a complete recording board without any trouble. And both are full of listening. The whole story is Clapton in the 21st century! It is full of high quality performance. I hope you will add this work to your collection.
