This week, we will be releasing a rare and special charity concert sound source from the first-generation master of the UK-based heavyweight Taper, who is familiar with Eric Clapton’s treasured sound source! This time, it will be two years of unreleased charity concerts, and the oldest and latest editions owned by heavyweight tapers. This work is a high-quality stereo audience complete recording source in 1996. This work is the oldest in the master of the heavyweight taper at this event. This concert was a charity event for AA (Alcoholics Anonymous Association) titled “New Year’s Eve Dance” that has been held every year since 1993. Originally, in 1982, Clapton, who participated in the “year-old live” held at a local pub by Gary Brooker, a band member at the time, liked this idea, and has been performed intermittently at the end of the year since then. What has been done became a regular event sponsored by Clapton in 1993, and has been established as “New Year’s Eve Dance”, which performs live twice on New Year’s Eve and on New Year’s morning with a break. It was also customary to announce in advance with a fictitious band name, and the band name of this year was “MEN WITHOUT LEGS” (a self-deprecating term for “passionate men”). This year is the fourth year since it has been held regularly, so it can be said that Clapton and the band have become familiar with this project. This concert was intended to entertain members of the Alcoholics Anonymous Association, of which Clapton is also a member, and their families for free, and it was presumed that general fans could not see it. . However, in this world there is a flip side to everything. The heavyweight taper successfully infiltrated using his usual connection and succeeded in stereo recording. This event has a reputation for being rare only at this time with members and set lists, and it can be said that it is a maniac coveted for a concert that general fans cannot enter. Now let’s review what the 1996 year when this concert was held meant for Clapton.

You can see that compared to the usual years, there were no new album releases, and the tour was a short one in the UK, home. This is because I was devoted to the “Nothing But the Blues Tour” from two years ago to the previous year. Therefore, it was basically a year that was devoted to rest, but it seemed that Clapton, a live artist, was itching to stand on the stage, and he jumped into the gigs of old acquaintances and received calls. I actively participated in spot events. And Clapton who faced the annual year-end event. The chosen members were fellow British musicians. What was particularly rare this year was that there were three guitarists, including Clapton. Moreover, instead of Andy Fairweather Row, who always participated, Alan Darby, who was selected for the “Pilgrim Tour” in the following year, was selected to participate in the former Asia, and Paul, a singer-songwriter who Clapton liked. It was Warsif (later on his solo album). In particular, Alan Darby, who also slides, has excellent solo play and colors the stage with twin leads with Clapton. Simon Climie, who was also a co-producer, participated as a musician on the keyboard. Steve Gadd came from America to play drums. In addition to the rare and gorgeous members, the set list unique to this event is attractive. This year, I had a lot of blues in the flow from the previous year’s “Nothing But the Blues Tour”, but Layla was the rarest of all. Layla here was a version with an arrangement that can only be heard on this day even in Clapton’s long career, playing the “unplugged” version in an electric way. Among the countless live versions of this song, this one is very rare! And there is a variety of soul standards, other Clapton hits, and more. A number featuring members is also organized, and solo play with such numbers that Clapton listens to is also excellent! In particular, I Hardly Ever Do, featuring Alan Darby on vocals, is the best, and Clapton, who takes the first solo, is also amazing, but the second solo Derby is not defeated by Clapton with a lot of emotion! It seems worth just listening to this solo competition. The second set Five Long Years has become a big performance that exceeds 13 minutes. In the song, Clapton’s introduction of the members is inserted. Clapton’s solo here is amazing. Furthermore, don’t underestimate Sunshine Of Your Love by Aurus. Clapton is singing a full chorus. I usually give the chorus part to other members, but here Clapton is raising his voice to the fullest. This year’s stage, which is packed with such elements, is probably the best “New Year’s Eve Dance” so far on the bootleg evaluation site “Geetarz”! It is affirmed. That’s right, the whole story is undisputed content, and if you say so, fans will have no choice but to listen. It will be released from a rare original master that our shop independently obtained. 今週はまたエリック・クラプトンの秘蔵音源でお馴染みの、イギリス在住重鎮テーパーのファーストジェネレーションマスターから、レアで特別なチャリティコンサートの音源をリリース致します！今回はこのチャリティコンサートの未リリースの2年分、重鎮テーパー所有分では最古版と最新版の2つとなります。本作は1996年の高音質ステレオ・オーディエンス完全収録ソースです。このイベントでの重鎮テーパーのマスターでは、本作が最古のものとなります。このコンサートは、1993年以降毎年実施されてきた「ニュー・イヤーズ・イヴ・ダンス」と題されたAA（アルコール中毒者匿名の会）向けのチャリティイベントでした。元々は82年に、当時バンドメンバーだったゲイリー・ブルッカーが地元のパブで開いた「年忘れライブ」に参加したクラプトンがこの趣向を気に入ったことに端を発し、以降も断続的に年末に行なわれてきたものが93年にクラプトン主催で定例化し、大晦日の夜と休憩を挟んだ新年の朝に二度ライブを行なう「ニュー・イヤーズ・イヴ・ダンス」として定着したものです。そして架空のバンド名で事前告知されることも慣習となっていて、この年のバンド名は「MEN WITHOUT LEGS」（「腑抜け男たち」という自虐です）とされました。この年は定期開催になって4年目ということで、クラプトンとバンドもこの企画に馴染んできた頃と言えるでしょう。このコンサートは、クラプトンが会員にもなっているアルコール中毒匿名の会の会員とその家族を無料で招待して楽しませるというもので、一般のファンは観られないというのが建て前になっていました。ところが何事にも裏があるのがこの世の中。重鎮テーパーは、普段のコネクションを利用して見事に潜入し、ステレオ録音に成功したというわけです。このイベントはメンバーとセットリストがこの時だけのレアなことで定評があり、しかも一般のファンは入場できないコンサートとあってはマニア垂涎の的と言えるものなのです。ではここで、このコンサートが行なわれた1996年がクラプトンにとってどのような意味合いを持っていたのかをおさらいしてみましょう。

・9月12日：ニューヨークのレキシントン・アーモリーで行われたジョルジオ・アルマーニの出店祝いイベントに出演。
・11月18日、19日、26日：ロンドン、シェパーズブッシュ・エンパイアで行われたシェリル・クロウのコンサートに飛入り。

いつもの年に比べ、新作アルバムのリリースはなく、ツアーも地元イギリスでの短期のものだったことがお分かりいただけるでしょう。なぜなら、前々年～前年まで「ナッシング・バット・ザ・ブルース・ツアー」に明け暮れていたからです。従って基本的には休養に充てていた年でしたが、そこはライブ・アーティストたるクラプトン、ステージに立ちたくてうずうずしていたようで、旧知のアーティストたちのギグに飛入りしたり、お声がかかったスポットイベントに積極的に参加していました。そして恒例の年末のイベントに臨んだクラプトン。選んだメンバーはイギリスの仲間ミュージシャンでした。この年が特にレアだったのは、クラプトンを含み、ギタリストが三人もいたことです。しかもいつも参加していたアンディ・フェアウェザー・ロウではなく、元エイジアで、翌々年の「ピルグリム・ツアー」に抜擢され参加することになるアラン・ダービー、さらにクラプトンが気に入っていたシンガーソングライターのポール・ウォーシフ（後に彼のソロアルバムに参加）でした。特にスライドもこなすアラン・ダービーは、ソロプレイも卓越しており、クラプトンとのツインリードでステージを彩っています。キーボードには、共同プロデューサーでもあったサイモン・クライミーがミュージシャンとして参加。ドラムには、アメリカからスティーヴ・ガッドが駆けつけました。レアで豪華なメンバーに加え、このイベントならではのセットリストが魅力です。この年は、前年の「ナッシング・バット・ザ・ブルース・ツアー」からの流れでブルースを多めに組んでいましたが、何よりもレアだったのがLaylaでした。ここでのLaylaは、何と「アンプラグド」バージョンをエレクトリックでプレイするという、クラプトンの長いキャリアでも、この日でしか聴けないアレンジでのバージョンとなっていたのです。無数にあるこの曲のライブバージョンでも、これは非常に珍しい！そしてソウルのスタンダードあり、その他のクラプトンのヒット曲あり、とバラエティに富んでいます。メンバーをフィーチャーしたナンバーも組まれ、クラプトンが聴かせるこうしたナンバーでのソロプレイも絶品！特にアラン・ダービーをボーカルフィーチャーしたI Hardly Ever Doは最高、ファーストソロをとるクラプトンも弾き捲りも凄いですが、セカンドソロのダービーも情感たっぷりのプレイでクラプトンに負けていない！このソロ競演を聴くだけでも価値があると思えるほどです。セカンドセットのFive Long Yearsは何と13分を越える大熱演となっています。曲中では、クラプトンによる微笑ましいメンバー紹介が挿まれています。ここでのクラプトンのソロは凄まじいです。さらにオーラスのSunshine Of Your Loveも侮ってはいけません。何とクラプトンがフルコーラスを歌っています。いつもはサビのパートは他のメンバーに振るのですが、ここではクラプトンが目いっぱい声を張り上げているのです。こんな要素をいっぱい詰め込んだこの年のステージは、それゆえか、ブートレッグの評価サイト「Geetarz」では、これまでの「ニュー・イヤーズ・イヴ・ダンス」ではベスト！と断言されています。そのとおり、全編、文句なしの内容ですし、そう言われれば、ファンは聴かざるを得ないでしょう。当店が独自入手したレアなオリジナルマスターからのリリースとなります。どうぞお早めのオーダーをお願い致します。
