[Dominos audience recording NO.1 sound source]This week, we will release 2 titles of historical sound sources of Derek and the Dominos, a band that Eric Clapton acknowledged to be the “strongest” in his career, on a press CD!
First of all, this work is a complete recording of the Cincinnati performance on November 26, 1970 with a good monaural audience recording. This source is a standard sound source that has been released in the past as a relatively good sound quality as a Dominos audience sound source, but this time the original master tape was digitally transferred using high-end equipment, resulting in the highest sound quality ever. is being realized. However, the file uploaded on the net was 30% to 50% higher than the original tape, and the sound pressure of the right channel in the latter half was low and the balance was bad. In our shop, the pitch was corrected normally, and the sound pressure of the right channel, which was low, was raised to the very limit that does not increase the hiss noise, and the balance was improved. It is a confident product only in our store, which has been greatly upgraded from the file on the net. The performance date of this work is about a month after the official release of the Fillmore East performance, and the tour has entered the final stage, and it can be said that it was the most greasy time. I hope you will enjoy Clapton’s transcendence play again with the number one audience recording sound source of the Dominos era.
It is well known that Derek and the Dominos disbanded less than a year after their formation, despite the release of the masterpiece “Layla and Other Associated Love Songs”. When it comes to live tours, it was only one short-term UK tour and one long-term American tour. However, it is also true that the charm of Dominos exploded during this short period of activity, and it is a place where you can feel it not only in the official live board “IN CONCERT” but also in this work. On this occasion, I will take a bird’s eye view of Clapton’s activities this year.
・January 1970: Recording solo album “ERIC CLAPTON” with Delaney & Bonnie & Friends in LA
・February 2-22, 1970: North American tour as a member of Delaney & Bonnie & Friends
After that, he left the band and returned to England.
· May 5, 1970: Jumped into a traffic concert led by his old friend Steve Winwood in Oxford, England.
· June 14, 1970: The debut concert of Derek & The Dominos is held at Lyceum, a hall in central London.
・ June 18, 1970: Recording the first single Tell The Truth c / w Roll It Over in London
≪August 1, 1970: First solo album “ERIC CLAPTON” released, single Tell The Truth also released this month≫
・August 1-22, 1970: Short-term UK tour
・August 23, 1970 to mid-September: Recorded the album “LAYLA AND OTHER ASSORTED LOVE SONGS” in Miami
・ September 20th to October 11th, 1970: European tour
・October 15-December 6, 1970: Long-term US tour
≪December 1, 1970: “LAYLA AND OTHER ASSORTED LOVE SONGS” released≫
· December 18, 1970: Attended Keith Richards’ birthday party held by the Rolling Stones during recording at the Olympic Sound Studio. Recording a live studio version of ‘Brown Sugar’ with the Stones
As you can see, the group toured without waiting for the release of the album “LAYLA~”. Clapton was desperate to prove the ability of his first leader band on the live stage. The result is clear not only for the official live board but also for this work. The person who uploaded this file commented that Got To Get Better In A Little While on this day is the best take in Dominos’ live history. Roll It Over has a delicious composition that you can normally listen to a guitar solo twice because Clapton made a mistake in deployment, and the blues medleyed from Blues Power is Have You Ever Loved A Woman at Fillmore East. However, here there is a change that Bobby Whitlock has become Stormy Monday taking vocals. It should be noted that Chuck Berry’s cover Little Queenie is played (the second half is also medleyed by Sweet Little Rock ‘n’ Roller, a rock’n’roll number). This song is a rare number that was not played at Fillmore. Clapton’s solo, which is clear even with such a pure rock’n’roll number, is wonderful, but the tour has passed the middle stage, why did you add this song to the set? Clapton jumped into the stage of Buddy Guy & Junior Wells in Paris on September 22nd, but in fact their stage was the opening act of Rolling Stones. And Stones was playing this song on the day. Witnessing the performance of his old friend Stones for the first time in a long time, Clapton may have wanted to try his own band. It’s fun to imagine it that way. In Tell The Truth’s guitar solo, Clapton sings in response to the guitar phrase, and you can listen to “One person call and response”, which is twice as hot as Fillmore’s take, and Let It Rain is Jim Gordon’s drum solo. , has become a compact but passionate version. In other words, it is a day that is as high quality and enjoyable as the Fillmore.
[B.B. King jumped into the encore! ]One of the reasons why this sound source has historical value is that B.B. King flew into the encore. Since their first performance in New York in 1967 during Clapton’s cream era, B.B. The friendship between the two continued for more than 40 years until B.B. I’m here. Clapton also took up B.B.’s repertoire, and both of them co-starred in both vocals and guitar solos. Listening to two people’s play is perfectly possible with this sound quality. Officially, the co-starring of the two at this time has not been released, so it will be a hot moment.
Dominos’ classic audience sound source appears in an upgraded version only for our shop. Please do not miss it.

(remastered memo)
★Fixed the pitch that is 30-50% faster than a semitone.
★ Since the right channel becomes smaller after the middle of Disc 2,
I raised the sound pressure of the right channel to the extent that the hiss balance does not become extreme,
At the same time, compared to Disc 1, the sound pressure is smaller, so I raised the whole.
