What, what is that? No way that such a master existed … …. DEEP PURPLE legend’s first visit to Japan, which produced a famous drama “LIVE IN JAPAN” that shines brilliantly in music history. The longest master ever took that first day is new.
This legend’s first visit to Japan is exactly the legend of rock. Not only official daimyo board “LIVE IN JAPAN”, but also in the long history has been digging up with various forms, efforts to press the truth has been repeated. Among them, the audience recording was the thinnest thing on the “site at work site”. There are many people who know the crown of our shop “LIVE IN JAPAN COMPLETE (Darker Than Blue 044 – 049)”. However, this work is neither its remaster nor recurrence. An undisclosed cassette master who was secretly secret by the core and collector who got it on its own route. It is a live album that made it direct CD.
It is contained in such a work “August 15, 1972: Osaka Festival Hall Performance”. This week, it will be a double release of the first visit to the album, so let’s check the schedule here as well.

This is a miracle three days. Osaka performance of this work is the first day even the legendary first visit to Japan. It is also the day when Daimyo board “LIVE IN JAPAN” “Smoke On The Water” was recorded. Although this day has been loved by preexisting such as “the war memorial day (MM 1/2)” “LIVE IN JAPAN COMPLETE”, this work is different from either. To tell the truth, the recording itself is the same, but what came out of the secret cassette was the longest past show that was longer than that. Its length extends to “1 minute 44 seconds”. When concretely compared, the opening part introduction and “The Mule” last for a few seconds and the encore wait after the “Black Night” concert is about one minute long. Taka’s “1 minute 44 seconds”, but “1 minute 44 seconds”. What is packed with this work is not a concert of Sonjyōsosho. “Legend of Rock”, the atmosphere of the site. Whether it is 1 second or 1 note, it is the treasure of rock history itself.
Moreover, the new excavation cassette was not only long. That sound is also wonderful that I have never heard before. Even though the recording itself is the same as the previous episode, the circumstances beyond the 45 years’ era are quite different. Since concrete generation information is lost, we can not declare assertion, but apparently younger than the previous generation. It is a recording that has been told that it is said that sound is good even from 3 days of miracles, but this work is more fierce sound. Especially the middle bass sounds the difference. For example, “Smoke On The Water”. Riche’s playing riff is even thicker, realistic enough to feel the trembling of Strat’s strings, the ringing spreading on the scene is also vivid. Roger’s bass coming in there is even more full-bodied. Of course, this is just an example. To be honest, it is not that there is not a good part for “LIVE IN JAPAN COMPLETE” if you verify every moment in detail (so you can not throw away the already departing: bitter smile). However, this work is more vivid sound in general, and you can experience “legendary night” quite closely.

Following LED ZEPPELIN to Japan, “UK hard rock” telling the stylish, DEEP PURPLE first came to Japan that produced the top of the rock history “LIVE IN JAPAN”. It is a wonderful new excavation that you can experience the first day in the past with the longest. Even still beyond the moment of 45 years, the top of Hard Rock that never exceeds. What flows out of this work is its fragrant “scent of the work place”. Please smoke this legendary smell, please please fill it in my heart.

なんという、何ということでしょう。まさか、こんなマスターが存在していたなんて……。音楽史に燦然と輝く大名盤『LIVE IN JAPAN』を生み出した、DEEP PURPLE伝説の初来日。その初日を収めた過去最長マスターが新登場です。
この伝説の初来日は、まさにロックの伝説そのもの。オフィシャルでも大名盤『LIVE IN JAPAN』だけでなく、長い歴史の中で様々なカタチで掘り起こされ、真実に迫ろうという努力が繰り返されてきました。その中でも、もっとも“現場の現場”に肉薄したのは、オーディエンス録音。当店の頂点作『LIVE IN JAPAN COMPLETE（Darker Than Blue 044-049）』をご存じの方も多いのではないでしょうか。しかし、本作はそのリマスターでも再発でもありません。独自ルートで入手した、さるコア・コレクターが秘匿していた未公開のカセット・マスター。それをダイレクトにCD化したライヴアルバムなのです。
そんな本作に封じ込められているのは「1972年８月15日：大阪フェスティバルホール公演」。今週は、初来日アルバムのダブル・リリースになりますので、ここで日程も確認しておきましょう。

これが奇跡の３日間。本作の大阪公演は、伝説の初来日でも初日。大名盤『LIVE IN JAPAN』の「Smoke On The Water」が記録された日でもあります。この日は『終戦記念日（MM1/2）』『LIVE IN JAPAN COMPLETE』といった既発で愛されてきましたが、本作はそのどちらとも違う。実のところ、録音自体は同じではあるのですが、秘匿カセットから流れ出てきたのは、それよりも長い過去最長のショウだったのです。その長さは「１分44秒」にも及ぶ。具体的に比較してみますと、開演パートのイントロや「The Mule」が数秒間、「Black Night」終演後のアンコール待ちが約１分ほど長いのです。たかが「１分44秒」、されど「１分44秒」。本作に詰まっているのはそんじょそこらのコンサートではありません。“ロックの伝説”、その現場の大気。それが１秒であれ、１音であれ、それはロック史そのものの至宝なのです。
しかも、新発掘カセットは単に長いだけでもありせんでした。そのサウンドもまた、今まで一度も聴いたことのない素晴らしさ。録音自体は既発と同じであっても、45年の時代を超えた経緯はまるで違う。具体的な世代情報は失われているので断言はできませんが、どうやら既発よりも若い。既発からして、奇跡の３日間でも音が良いと言われてきた録音だったわけですが、本作はさらに瑞々しいサウンドなのです。特に差を感じるのは中低音。例えば、「Smoke On The Water」。リッチーが奏でるあのリフはさらに肉厚で、ストラトの弦が震えるのさえ感じ取れるほどリアルで、現場に広がる鳴りも鮮やか。そこに入ってくるロジャーのベースも一層ふくよか。もちろん、これはあくまでも一例。正直なところ、細かく一瞬一瞬を検証していくと『LIVE IN JAPAN COMPLETE』の方が良いパートもないわけではない（ので既発を捨てる事も出来ない：苦笑）。しかし、総じて本作の方が更に鮮やかなサウンドであり、“伝説の夜”をグッと間近に体験できるのです。

LED ZEPPELINに続いて日本に“英国ハードロック”の粋を伝え、ロック史の頂点盤『LIVE IN JAPAN』を生み出したDEEP PURPLE初来日。その初日を過去最長で体験できる驚異の新発掘です。45年の刻を超えてもなお、超えるもののないハードロックの頂点。本作から流れ出るのは、その芳醇なる“現場の薫り”なのです。この伝説の匂い、どうぞ胸いっぱいに吸い込んでください。
